The house was modern and very spacious with great appliances (especially the stove) and with all the amenities that we could have asked for. The beach was a short walk away and very nice, we practically had the beach to ourselves. The only con was that we found out on the second to last day that there was a mat available, my grandkids would have enjoyed using it at the beach. Overall it was a very positive experience.

We enjoyed waking up to sunlight steaming through the trees outside our bedroom window. The beach access was good about a 10 minute walk through the woods. The house had plenty of room to spread out and it was clean. Hannah was a great host.

Great place for family bonding. Quiet neighborhood and beautiful wooded area. Enjoyed watching the deer travel through the yard. Nice private beach and other beach options available. Well stocked house and great host. Just what our family needed.

We stayed at Hannah’s place with family and extended family, 11 people altogether. There was plenty of room for everyone, enough bathrooms, and lots of towels - much appreciated! The house came with everything we needed for a wonderful relaxing beach vacation, including beach chairs, umbrellas, games and activities for rainy days. The location is perfect and the beach is close enough to back and forth several times during the day to go back to the house for lunch, etc. The kitchen was well equipped, including two outdoor grills, and we enjoyed some great family dinners there. Lots to do in the neighborhood as well. The Swedish Bakery was our favorite! Thank you for all the suggestions and for your hospitality, Hannah. We would love to come back for another vacation in the future.

We loved the "in the woods" feel with access to a beach! The house accommodated our family wonderfully. The big screened in porch was so peaceful! Our grand children are still telling their parents they want to go back to the beach house.

This is our second year staying at this property for our fall girls weekend and we love it. There are 13 of us and we all fit comfortably. The house is equipped with everything we needed and is in a beautiful location. Close to the beach, heavily wooded, and close restaurants and wineries. Hannah is easy to communicate with and very respond to questions.

Stayed here with three other buddies to get in a golf weekend. The house was well located for this and was comfortable of the evening times we stayed in. Can't really comment on the beach as we never got that far. Much better place to stay than an area hotel for its comfort and convenience.

This place will not disappoint! It is a beautiful home with all the conveniences, clean, comfortable and VERY spacious! It is located on a private lane in the woods. Hannah provides all you need for your stay. Our party of 9 grilled out, we ate at a few of the recommended spots, ordered pizza, visited the Roadhouse for the Walleye! We used the screened porch for morning coffee and playing games in the evenings. It was a ten minute walk to the private beach that we had all to ourselves most days. The trail was a good heart rate builder and could be a challenge for some. We made use of the provided beach chairs, umbrellas and the water mat was a blast! We saw a bald eagle one day, had many visits from the same group of 5 deer(two does, two fawns and a buck. We also were visited each evening by a pair of barred owls who seemed to be picking off moths and cicadas. It was a treat to see! We hope to visit again! Thank you Hannah!

Hannah is a wonderful owner, very accessible and willing to help. Everything was there S promised and the home so comfortable. We were lucky to have good weather and know the area well. We made arrangements for a crib and everything worked out well. Thank you!

Hannah’s home is beautiful, roomy, and stocked with everything you might need!! It’s in a quiet location but close to the beach, restaurants and even Silver Beach is only a short drive away for a fun family day!! We highly recommend Hannah’s home!

Hannah's place was better than the photos. The house is tucked into a wooded setting and is so close to the beach. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds and pillows and linens are lovely. The living room and dining room are a great size for a group. I cooked a beef stew on a chilly, fall night. Everything I needed in the kitchen was on hand. I would definitely stay here again.

This was our second visit to Hannah's. 5 nights last August and 5 nights this August. She is a great hostess and her place is perfect for our large family ( 8 adults and 7 grandkids, ages 7,6,5,4,4,3,2). Would highly recommend for small groups or large.

First of all, having used VRBO for several vacations, I thoroughly trust VRBO to display correctly properties that are available as well as to screen property owners to provide reliable facts and financial information. Way to go VRBO! I will use you over and over again. Secondly, the Harbert Beach Cottage was absolutely beautiful, well cared for, fully stocked with utensils, beach chairs, and grills as well as being the perfect spot for families. We had 8 adults and two children in July of 2018 and found plenty of sleeping space for all (grandma and grandpa got the private king bedroom and bath on the third floor). The kitchen/familyroom/dining area was very large and open; everyone fit comfortably around the dining table as well as around the tv on the couches. The enclosed porch was equally large and another area to migrate to. The hardwood floors were beautiful and the matching oak trim and windows made for a stunning interior. The lighting and A/C were easy to use and well thought out. Everyone in our family raved about the roominess and the decor. While we never met Hannah, the owner, she was easily available and we exhanged something like ten emails and texts when we had questions. Hannah couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. I highly recommend (5 stars) this home to any family for a wooded getaway with a private beach on Lake Michigan just a 10 minute walk away. Thanks to Hannah and VRBO for a wonderful family vacation. Hannah's home was exceptionally clean and inviting. The large kitchen and living/dining room provided plenty of space for all the family. Everything is provided; kitchen equipment, grills, high-quality linens, towels, even beach towels, chairs and umbrellas. Hannah was easy to work with and available to answer questions throughout our stay. The house is set in the woods but only a short walk to a private beach. We would definitely return to The Harbert Beach Cottage in the Woods.

We booked the Harbert home for a family girls weekend. This was the perfect spot for us to all meet for a weekend together. The house is very nice and met our needs perfectly. Hannah was very easy to work with and she provided really great information about things to do and places to eat in the area. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed. It was so nice to have beach towels and chairs available for our use. The beach was a little more difficult to get to than I thought based on the property description. It is just a short walk but the stairs do not go all the way to the beach. You have to go down a mildly steep sand dune to get to the beach. The climb up the dune on the way back was challenging for some in our group. The good part is the beach is beautiful and we all enjoyed it, even found some cool beach glass! I would have given 5 stars, but a few things were not ideal. There are no window treatments on the windows in the upper level bedrooms or bathroom so don't expect to sleep in. Also with no shower curtain in the bathroom it was a little uncomfortable to shower at night in a bathroom with no window treatments. Unfortunately the air conditioning went out the second night we were there. Hannah was very responsive to my communications about this but was not able to address it until the next day late in the day. It was a pretty uncomfortable night sleeping. Luckily it wasn't excessively hot so we managed. She did bring fans when she got there to address the issue which was a big help. It would have been helpful if there were fans available earlier or even if there were ceiling fans. These things happen, just a bummer that it happened while we were there. Overall, the house is fantastic and really works well for big groups. The kitchen/great room/porch provide great areas for all to be together for a meal, to play games or just enjoy being together. The area was very nice and we appreciated Hannah's recommendations and that she was so easy to work with. Would definitely recommend!
