The house was comfortable for our group of 8. It was clean and had everything we needed. The garage was a bonus for all our gear and freezing our fish. Close to Safeway and Walmart which is a plus when you come in late every day. Quiet and nice neighborhood. Highly recommend staying here!

Group of 5 came to Kodiak for a fishing vacation. The house was immaculate and had lots of room with all the amenities. Very comfortable as if it was your own home. Already reserving for next summer.

This was a beautiful house! It had everything we needed. John the owner was amazing and Carol the property Mgr was so helpful and accommodating. The house is so close to everything. Safeway and Walmart are 2 min away. The chartered fishing trips were great along with the seaplane bear trips. Memories on the deck at the house looking at trees and eagles and enjoying each other’s company. There were 10 of us and there was plenty of room and nicely laid out. Thank you for an amazing stay John and Carol!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at your house. Plenty of sleeping space, great hang out areas, and we loved having all of the stuff in the kitchen. The communication was great and we felt right at home. Hopefully we are able to return in a few years. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Well appointed lodging with friendly and helpful host. It was so nice to just move our luggage in and make yourself at home and enjoy what Kodiac has to offer. Very convenient location to everything in quite neighborhood. This was our second stay at this location. I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a quality and comfortable place to hang your hat.

First of all the owner, John, was fabulous from the beginning. He was easy to communicate with and full of information about beautiful Kodiak Island. His property manager, Laurie, was prompt in meeting us at the property, very friendly and thorough. John's house is a perfect family getaway. It is fully stocked, roomy, and convenient. If we are ever back in Kodiak we would certainly stay here again. I highly recommend it.

This is our second time coming to Kodiak and each stay we’ve rented Johns home. It is exceptionally clean, plenty of supplies, very comfortable. John and Laurie (the property manager) take care of every need. The absolute best for our family.

This home is a delight in every way. It was perfect for our group of eight. The house is clean and cozy and full of character. Luxuriously equipped with high quality furnishings, beds and linen as well as a full kitchen to allow for comprehensive cooking at home. Having a washing machine & dryer upstairs was also really helpful. Large heated garage came in handy for our gear. The owner was responsive and extremely accommodating. We will definitely stay here again when we have the opportunity to travel back to Kodiak. We can give this listing our highest recommendation A ++!

We absolutely loved this house! It was perfect for our large group of 10. The owners were extremely helpful. The house is beyond beautiful and clean. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well equipped and heated garage for our gear was wonderful. Having three bathrooms was a plus. Would highly recommend staying here!

Our trip to Kodiak was planned around the throwing of our late mother’s ashes on top of Old Womens Mountain. We did the same for our father 14 years prior having been raised on Kodiak in the 50’s and 60’s as children of a Naval officer at the then Naval Air Station (now Coast Guard). We have been back to Kodiak on occasion and are familiar with the hotel options. We wanted a house that would allow us to have quality family time and also give us enough personal space. This house did that and more, easily housing ten people with only two couples. Given the men outnumbered the women 7 to 3 the urinal was a hit! The layout of the house allowed the younger generation to have the bottom floor for their own. The living room was spacious and comfortable with the ability to be in the kitchen and participate in discussions. Everyone agreed this was the best stocked kitchen in any home any of us had previously rented anywhere! It had every small appliance you would need to put on a feast for a hoard as well as pots, pans, baking dishes and storage containers - spices included! The great BBQ on the deck was used several times. The amenities available with the kayaks and ATVs is incredible. The host that met us was gracious and the owner was in contact to make sure everything was fine. The owner’s recommendations for activities was perfect and we enjoyed two float plane flights with pilot “Willy”! This is a five star house with a five star owner that guarantees everything is just perfect. Don’t hesitate to make this your housing option for a vacation on lovely Kodiak!

We had a wonderful experience and the property was exceptionally accommodating for the ten of us that stayed. The property manager was outstanding, very personable, friendly, and went out of her way for us to make sure we had a wonderful stay. Highly recommend it for any one who wants to have an exceptional time and a home-like feel. The property, the manager, and the owner exceeded our expectations, providing generously to meet our needs and making our stay comfortable.

Everything we needed was here in this very spacious home. This includes waders, rain jackets, many beds, kitchen well stocked etc. The house felt like home. John and Laurie responded quickly to any questions. We named the Home, “Bear Manor” and will be staying in this home again next year.

This was our families first trip to Alaska and our children are 13 and 14 years old. They love to fish and in planning this trip, I looked at several VRBO's for our stay and this house seemed to have what we needed. When we arrived the house was immaculate. Lauri was welcoming and showed us all of the amenities. The garage is very clean and has a lot of rain gear that can be borrowed. The house is warm and in the evenings when we cooked we had all the spices and cooking supplies we would have at our own home. Just down the street is Safeway and you're 5 minutes from downtown Kodiak. My husband and I enjoyed how we could all spread out after a long day of fishing. We will be back and I won't consider staying anywhere else. Thank you John very much for making your home available.

A group of us (7 adults) traveled to Kodiak for an adventure of a lifetime using this home as our base. We were very pleased with our stay at this property! The house was clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare our meals. There was enough space for everyone to feel like they had some privacy, yet plenty of space to hang out and spend time together as a group. Cost us less than staying in a hotel and we had so much more space! The huge garage alone with a large freezer was perfect for each days salmon and halibut catch. The owners were very responsive and professional throughout the entire reservation process and during our stay. Perhaps the greatest endorsement we could share is this will be our first choice when we go back to Kodiak which we plan to do in the near future. You cannot go wrong staying in this special property!

This rental is absolutely wonderful! The owners were great to work with, easy to contact and quick to respond. The house is well kept and very clean. The open floor plan made this rental perfect for our stay. The huge garage was a bonus to store our gear in each night. There are three full bathrooms in the house which was great! This rental was all around perfect for our group of 8 on Kodiak for business. We plan to rent the home again next year. Would highly recommend this property to others looking for a special house to stay at when on Kodiak!

Beautiful place! Excellent layout! Enjoyed all the fantastic amenities of the home. We had plenty of room for 7 adults on Kodiak for business. Having three bathrooms was perfect for our group. Everything we needed to cook meals was provided and more! Home is very clean and linens were terrific.The owners really made this house warm and inviting. They were accommodating, polite, and very responsive to all our questions. We would definitely stay again at this rental. I had to send a crew of guys up to Alaska for business. I was not with them but I sent them to this property. From the very beginning working with these folks it was nothing short of amazing customer service. They bent over backward to make sure we were taken care of and everything we needed they did around what worked for my guys schedules. The house itself the guys could not speak higher about. Just amazing but made even better by the amazing support by Laurie! We gained a true friend and amazing local resource for he future with her. She went above and beyond for us and we can't thank her enough. It's safe to say we are so happy with how this went and can not wait to come back. Our large group had an incredible stay while on Kodiak for business. We rented the home for a week and couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. The house was clean and extremely comfortable. There was truly something for everyone and the style of the home was like nothing we have ever seen before. I honestly have zero complaints about the home and our entire group was extremely pleased with the choice to rent it! I will use this property for my next visit and will strongly recommend this home to family and friends visiting Kodiak in the future. You cannot go wrong with this vacation rental house!

Great place for our group of 8 adults. 3 bathrooms and 10 beds (futons included). Everybody had Their own space and we didn’t feel overcrowded. The house is comfortable and was always a nice place to come home to at night to watch movies and hang out with eachother. Good location -downtown is 10 minute drive (30 minute walk) and safeway/Walmart is an easy 10 min walk.

This property exceeded our expectations in every way. We were met by Laurie who is just great! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. I arranged this trip for 2 couples from the northeast. The house is very spacious, immaculate and beautifully furnished. It was fully stocked with linens, paper products, and even laundry detergent. There was a Keurig and a regular coffee pot with k cups and condiments waiting for us.The whole house is bright and cheerful. This house should be called the "Oh Wow!" house because that is what everyone said when we walked in. It truly made our Alaskan dream vacation come true. I can't imagine a better place to stay on Kodiak. I highly recommend!

We had our family vacation in this wonderful Kodiak home! The four bedrooms were perfect. It was so great to have three full bathrooms also! It's very nicely furnished beds and linens are top quality. The kitchen has everything you need and then some! The open living/kitchen area worked well for socializing and cooking.The home was beautiful, easy to get to and from town. We had a wonderful stay. Highly recommend if you are looking for an upscale property.
