This was our first trip to the Outer Banks and it was lovely. Our family of 11 had plenty of room in this home. Overall, would recommend this property.
Pro: location (boardwalk to beach is one house over), beach not crowded, walking distance (.5-.7miles flat walk) to lots of shops, restaurants, rentals, and grocery store. If you wanted a one stop beach location this could be it. You could drive here and then walk for everything else you wanted to do. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. Hot tub was great. Kitchen well supplied with pots and pans. Upper floor is great, huge dining table, wide open space for large family gatherings.
Cons: no “beach closet” (most VRBO properties we’ve stayed in have a closet with beach toys, left over chairs and umbrellas, cooler etc… didn’t see that here) but we did leave our stuff behind so maybe the next person will enjoy it. Many baths had very small shower stalls with curtains that stick to your legs when showering, doors would be a nice upgrade. Very firm beds (could be a pro if you like that). Dunes have grown up to impede view from top balcony (totally understand that’s an ecological issue and can’t be fixed but the view is moderately disrupted because of it). Aged decor and design in the lower and mid levels. Need furniture replacement on the upper level, the couches are past their prime.
Northerner location on OBX, good if you prefer more quiet. Traffic can be significant getting to the location.

I love the house it was dated but nice. However due to blood and urine stains on the mattress covers on the room with the bunk beds, it put a damper on my grandchildrens vacation. They were then afraid to sleep by themselves( 5y & 7y) We we called to alert the staff they were very attentive and sent someone over promptly to remove the bedding. Kudos to them on the fast response!!We did love the close access to the beach.

The house itself is beautiful and the location is awesome. The management is abysmal. The furniture is expensive but the mattresses are terrible. The sheets are cheap and scratchy, the pillows are low quality, and the customer service is poor. We arrived to find not a single roll of toilet paper in the house (much less soap or similar). It's sad that the small things, which are easy to improve, are ignored in a house with gorgeous furniture, an amazing view, and steps from the beach. The small pool is unheated. It was opened right before we arrived and supposedly serviced during our stay, but it looked gross/green the whole time. The house next door had the same pool, but theirs had clear blue water. The hot tub was nice. In spite of all the negatives, I would have gone back if the mattress hadn't been so bad.

A family vacation that had been in the works for months was deflated as soon as we arrived...the grounds were unkept...then upon entering the house beds were not fully made...floors unclean...carpet dirty...furniture that in the main area was filthy and had to put covers over them to be able to sit on them, bathrooms were not cleaned (mirrors look like they had been cleaned with ocean water white film smears funning down),shower stalls dirty, food/drink ??? on wall of main floor area bathroom, soap scum build up and mold stuck together on shower curtain in bathroom 2nd left from main entrance...several items broken including door locks to outside on botton floor and upper deck sliding glass door. Our family scrimped and saved to have this vacation!

We had a good stay. It was a gathering of old friends with a few kids. The house was large and very nice for most part. The bathroom showers were tiny in at least a few rooms with very cheap fixtures . The staff on the other side of my texts were extremely helpful, helping us quickly with the shortage in towels. They even managed to get the broken stairwell fixed in a few days.. good view of the ocean and access to the beach

Our family had a great stay. This property has a lot of positives. Fantastic views, lovely living areas, nice firm mattresses, and plenty of room. The kitchen stove needs new burners asap! (It is almost unusable!) I would recommend bring your own towels. The carpet is not worn and looks fairly new but it is not being cleaned deep enough.

Lovely house - fully equipped. Family had a wonderful time with many lasting memories. First time to the Outer Banks and enjoyed the laid back pace. Accommodations and amenities were perfect. Walk to the beach over the sand dune was very manageable for small toddlers. Overall, very pleased with the and would consider future visits. Traffic was extremely congested and slow going upon arrival. Would recommend arriving early, if possible. Communications with the Beach Realty was excellent and we found everything in place and well cared for.

The house was nicely designed and laid out, but we had multiple service issues while we were there, including: visibly dirty pots, pans and silverware in kitchen, used tissues and grit under dining table and living room sofa, 3 plumbing leaks in kitchen and upstairs bathroom which requires immediate attention as visible stain on lower floor ceiling kept growing, oven broiler element didn't work, and cable service went out and required on site repair that prevented its use for 2 days.People at the office were nice and helpful, but we spent more time than we would have liked trying to address problems in the house.While the house has a pool, it's so small that it's not very useful, and was very dirty for the entire week that we were there.

Our family getaway at TernPoint was great. The house was large and everyone was able to have their own "space". We had great views from the deck. There were a lot of steps both in the house and to the beach so I would advise anyone renting just to be aware of this.

The place itself was very nice. A few small problems, but taken care of quickly. It didn't have direct access to the beach, which we knew. However, it was a small walk to the access and 40 steps up and 40 steps down to get to the beach. Taking your stuff to the beach is exhausting and if you need the bathroom, plan way ahead. With all the steps in the house, it's too much for older people.

Overall good with a few issues. Kitchen was nicely updated and great! Brand new deck was nicely built. The AC vent was so filthy we ended up buying a new one to replace it. Pretty disappointing since we have young kids. The bedrooms are dated and king beds are extra hard. The cleaning was subpar, nothing more than a quick once over. We did check in early and it was ready earlier than expected but I was hoping for a little better of a clean, especially when paying extra to come in early. Outside pool was smaller than expected but served its purpose. The outside pool chairs could be updated. Hot tub was not working when we got there but management was great in sending someone out to repair it! Beach was awesome but lots of stairs to get there! Overall was an ok house for our first trip down to OBX but we will be looking for another for next years trip.

This place was great for our family, very spacious and great outlay. Upon reading prior reviews, the kitchen was noted to be an issue in the past but has been fully renovated so was perfect. The TV in the family room was still was not functional per prior reviews so we called maintenance and it was fixed. Of note, the door with the cable box needs to be open though for it to recognize the remote. We did alert the management that the air filters needed changing and hot tub temp was went down/turned itself on in afternoon. We used it the first night though without issue. Beach access is one house over but does have quite a few steps which an be more challenging for more senior guests. We enjoyed many sunrises and sunsets from the decks.

The house easily accommodated all 15 of us from age 5 to 77. Plenty of places to spread out. The 5 youngest kids loved the dip pool. Close to a Food Lion and fish market. The only negatives were the unpreparedness of the house. It appeared that it had not been cleaned. Dirty carpet, nothing dusted, table and night stands with coffee rings and finger prints. We were not given enough sheets and towels for all of us so some beds were not made up. We were given only 3 rolls of toilet paper for 7 toilets. The pool chairs were broken. These small things gave a negative first impression.

This is the first time using Beach Realty to book OBX. The house layout and location were fine, with the exception of the showers. They are ridiculously small! Main complaint is with cleanliness. Floors were dirty, a bunk bed had wrappers and glow sticks in it, MBR shower had a dirty washcloth. Under deck area had toys strewn about, sand all over the walk, linens/towels blocking doorway. Pool furniture dirty. Dishwasher filled with greasy, dirty dishes. We cleaned these all ourselves. A window screen was repaired once and eventually fell onto my truck. Eight phone calls to have sofa bed sheets delivered that were not available on arrival. The rental cost too high for all these issues.

This was our first trip to the OBX and our families had a wonderful time at Terning Point. Very nice house with plenty of room. Beautiful view from the deck and a quick walk to the beach. The rental company provided fresh towels at check-in and again mid-week which was nice. We couldn't find the wifi password anywhere but the rental company was very quick to get back to us with what we needed. The kitchen had everything we needed and the large pantry was helpful for storage.

Lovely house in a great location. Kitchen was fantastic - well-equipped and with high-end finishes. Whole house was very clean. Never could get the main TV set up working, but with more TVs in the house than I've owned in my life it wasn't an issue. King mattresses were hard for my taste so I actually moved to one of the bunk beds. We stayed for Thanksgiving week, and the complimentary disposable roasting pan was a nice touch. I recommend this house!

Terming Point was amazing!
Lucky for us we had great weather in October and were able to walk the short distance to the beach, spending hours there most days!
Great to be back in Crown Point, (where we built one of the first houses there in 1993) Crown Point is a great community....

Nice place - awesome kitchen layout
Great overall property regarding views, space and layout. A smart TV would have been nice plus the hot tub cover is shot.

This house was in a great location; convenient to the beach, grocery stores and a couple good restaurants.
The remodeled kitchen was a huge bonus and needed since the bathroom and other parts of the house need to be remolded and revamped in my opinion. I wish there was more than 1 full shower in the house the other showers were the small stand up type. Beautiful views from the upper deck and the deck furniture was very nice. We would stay here again!

First time in the outer banks

My family needed to get away during the Covid pandemic.
Only time in our lives that we will be able to drive to the Outer Banks in 12 hours flat from Boston.
House location was perfect. House was spacious and clean. Hot tub was great. Pool was small and i heated but the beach was fantastic.

Some necessities were lacking- no salt and pepper or any spices for cooking. We understand the limited toilet paper but there was no laundry soap,trash bags, paper towels, dishwasher soap or cleaning supplies.
Also the TV situation is ridiculous. Out of all the TVs in the house and with all the instructions we were able to use two of them successfully. The entire system is soo outdated.
Overall we had a great stay

A wonderful property: well maintained, well appointed, well equipped for housekeeping. Beds already made- unusual, and wonderful. Literally all we needed was to add groceries. Perfect location, great views and access to beach. Issues with main TV- probably due to recent storm damage, was addressed first thing next AM- Beach Realty couldn't have responded more helpfully. Terning Point is the go to place for us. Literally.

We loved the house -- the kitchen was awesome and very well equipped. The big pantry was also great (after we took care of several mice shortly after we got there). The huge dining area also was much appreciated. All the bedrooms worked well for us. We also loved the spacious great room where we could sit and visit and another group could play games at the game table and the little kids could play in the corners. we loved the turtle pond just down the road (and the relatively private road). we loved being close to Food Lion. The hot tub didn't work for the last half of the week but the owner sent us a small reimbursement (thanks). We were disappointed in the grounds - overgrown and weedy (not like the picture). The "yard" beyond the pool was also overgrown and the fence was trampled down - we were glad no one got hurt. we were disappointed not to be able to see the waves crash on the beach while we sat on the deck -- had a very far away view of the ocean. the deck furniture was wonderful except for the picnic table which was warped and couldn't really be used. Also the grills were a mess -- we were able to finally use them after much elbow grease (a gas grill would have been lovely). Also a new broom for the kitchen would help keep ahead of all the sand etc. These are just a few suggestions to make a great rental fabulous. Thanks!!
