We stayed the first time in December 2019 to celebrate Christmas with friends and family in Halifax and from out-of-province. We enjoyed it so much we booked the property again to celebrate Thanksgiving. Central location. Clean. Very comfortable beds. Lots of space. New furniture and decorations since Dec 2019 which resulted in more space and less clutter. Property manager is very nice and responsive.

This is a great property for a group of friends to stay at. Good location, very clean and check in was straightforward.

Great location! Easy walk to downtown. Right across the street from an outdoor skating oval. Comfortable beds. Lots of space. All the amenities work well. Adequately provisioned. 250-metre walk (i.e. 4 minutes) to a convenience store and a 1-kilomtre walk (i.e. 14 minutes) to an Atlantic Superstore which is a major grocery store chain in the Maritimes. One couple can have their own room with a king-sized bed and access to their own bathroom with walk-in shower in the basement. Another king-sized bed upstairs in the master that includes a full ensuite bathroom. A third full-bathroom easily shared between those staying in the second and third bedrooms on the top floor. Queen-sized beds in the second and third bedrooms upstairs. Everyone found their bed comfortable and everyone slept well. The property manager Leanne is excellent; friendly, kind, considerate and responsive. I had a question for her on Boxing Day (i.e. December 26) that I resolved to ask her on December 27 since December 26 is a public holiday in Canada. Who shows up in person on December 26 to check in on us to make sure everything was fine? Leanne. We forgot some medicine and vitamins behind; Leanne found it and sent it to me via courier. Definitely will stay at The Orange House again and recommend it very highly (except when we want to use it ;))

This property exceeded all our (lofty) expectations! The location is ideal (about a 7 minute walk from the Scotiabank centre) for concerts and hockey games! No need to have a car as everything is easily walkable within the downtown core! Was very clean and well stocked with plates and cups. Easily slept 10 people! We really liked having three full baths as it made getting ready for the day / night way quicker! 10/10 recommend.

Cottage was very clean & comfortable. Easily accommodated 8 guests. An ideal location to explore Halifax on foot & the Halifax region by vehicle. We really had a great stay.

The house is very nice and so close to downtown that we walked every day. The kitchen is great and has just about everything you would ever need. For people in the front bedrooms they need earplugs. We enjoyed the outside terrace very much. We did have difficulty with the lockbox but perhaps that was just our inexperience. Lots of towels, washcloths and kitchen towels. It was super to have a washing machine and dryer.

This beautiful house is just as advertised and the pictures are accurate. We had 3 couples and one single and were very comfortable. The location is a short walk from downtown and seemed near to everything. The only real negative was that the house is located on a busy street and there was a fair amount of street noise (sirens, people conversing loudly) on some of the nights for people in the front two bedrooms. The back bedroom and basement bedroom were very quiet. The kitchen is very well equipped and the dining/living areas were a comfortable place for us to enjoy being together. Would definitely recommend this house for a stay in Halifax.

Comfortable and convenient

Very comfortable in a great location minutes from downtown Halifax.

Very comfortable for our group of 8 sisters. Close to everything - the Citadel is basically across the street. Owner John responded promptly to our request to check in a little early and check out a little late to accommodate our flight times and it was very much appreciated. We definitely recommend this house for larger groups or families.

Property was very roomy, tastefully decorated, well stocked, impeccably clean, and a great place for our party of nine. Nice backyard deck. Communication with owner was terrific. We would highly recommend it for your stay in Halifax.

This newly renovated home is perfect for visitors who want to walk to almost anywhere in central Halifax. It is a spacious and beautiful home with everything you need to enjoy your visit.

The house was perfect for our group. It was spacious with great communal areas. The location is perfect for exploring Halifax. John and Jennifer were very accomodating and east to communicate with in the lead up our trip.

Its better to be lucky then good... and we were extremely lucky! The house was amazing, perfect location to get a feel for an amazing city, short walk to the waterfront (20 minutes), park across the street and so many small streets full of shops, restaurants and pubs. We had 12 in total, 4 kids and everyone was well accommodated for, sleep and lots of common space to hang out. Parking not a problem, met the owners of the Thai Chi center next door, happy to let us park an extra truck in their lot over the weekend (do ask first though). Overall, we felt like this was the perfect home for us, thank you! Suggestion... put a information sheet together for places close by, i.e. where to go for Pizza, seafood and place to do some food shopping.

Had a great week in Halifax. We could walk to everything. Wonderful city. Wonderful people. Very comfortable house.

Great location, huge well kept home, and very clean. Hosts were very responsive and friendly when we had questions. Only downside is that there is not much parking besides street side so just keep that in mind when planning. Would recommend to anyone!

This home rental was amazing! It afforded a diverse range of spaces and rooms for our group and had space for everyone to spread out and work through a week long conference. The house is super convenient to the convention centre, waterfront, and night life, and right across the street from a huge park. Everything is well lit and safe at night. We did not have a car, took the bus from the airport, walked to and from the convention centre daily, walked out at night, and even walked to the grocery store to stock up for the week and benefit from the well stocked kitchen.

The house was exactly as promised. Awesome location within easy walking to the waterfront and downtown attractions. The owner was very helpful. We were 4 couples (family), and had lots of space to be together or to spread out. Would recommend this property and if we return to Halifax would love to stay again . Thanks !!

La maison est bien située. Le centre ville, le quai, les restaurants et la citadelle sont accessibles à pied. La maison est très confortable et la cuisine est rénovée. J'ai apprécié la grandeur de la chambre principale ainsi que la chambre de bain adjacente. Points négatifs, la poignêe de la porte arriêre est brisée et un des lits du 2e êtage est sous un plafond en pente, ce n'est pas agréable d'y dormir.

We were so pleased with our accommodations! The house was amazing and within easy walking distance to downtown and the waterfront!!

We had 6 ladies for a girls trip to Halifax with plenty of room for more. The house was gorgeous and in great working order. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
