I was recently in PV for my brothers wedding at a nearby resort and spent the last 4 days at Villa Ensueno. It was the perfect way to end our trip. The house and sunsets were amazing, and it was really cheap/easy to get into town using Uber. Ana and Raul were absolutely incredible. They planned a birthday fiesta for me, that my friends and family will be talking about for years to come, complete with delicious Mexican food, a piñata, mariachi band and firework display. The only negative is that several dishes have been ruined for me as nothing will ever compare to Ana’s cooking.

It is hard to describe, since 1st minute of booking, the owner Jerold was promptly taking each step to expedite the entire process. The agent Laura that gives all instructions was amazing and very helpful clarifying each question we had. When we got there, we were warm welcomed by Ana and Raul! They treated us as family, cared about us and more: made us feel loved! Best food, best drinks, best care!
Our rooms/bedrooms/ laundry were perfect all the time. They provide more than you expect in a 5 stars hotel.
Believe me, Villa Ensueno' beauty, view and coziness will fulfill your heart and make you extend your stay! (happened to us).

The Pacific Ocean is wonderfully framed by the open doors to outside balcony and pool area. There is plenty of room for hanging out. It is conveniently located. There is a nice hotel up the hill to grab a drink or a bite to eat if desired. Ana is a very good cook so definitely take advantage of that!
Unfortunately, the property is a bit run down and would benefit from a refresh. New cushions on the couches for example. The door that open to the balcony/patio area are showing there age and require some effort to open/close. The bedrooms and bathrooms are a nice size but also need some attention. Cleanliness could be significantly improved on the inside of the house.
I know there are relatively new owners and that they have started to do some work on the property (new bedroom on the pool level is very nice) and have plans to expand the kitchen and add a couple of bedrooms. I am sure they will use that remodel time to make other updates which will make this excellent property even better.

The villa is gorgeous and everything it shows in the pictures. The neighborhood is safe and the view is incredible. Anna and Raul were absolutely amazing and took very good care of us. We plan to come back because it was such a great experience.

This property is absolutely gorgeous, roomy and in a great location, only a 5 minute Uber ride into town. The house sits on the side of a hill and the view is amazing down to the ocean and beach area, this is a perfect spot for a big family or 3 couples to stay at. Ana and Raul are icing on the cake. First of all, everything she makes is outstanding and will leave you wanting more. We were greeted with homemade chips, pico, guacamole and mango margaritas as we arrived. Ana's chilaquiles was something we could have eaten every morning, was so delicious. The 2 of them together are a dream team. They took care of our laundry, kept the fridge stocked with water, soda, etc and were always asking if we needed anything. This stay exceeded our expectations and we have been raving to friends since we returned. Thank you!

There was no better spot in the world to spend my husbands 50th birthday. The day was filled with margaritas, lounging in the pool and taking in the astonishing view. It is a spectacular place. Ana and Raul topped it off with incredible attention to detail and cooking better than any restaurant.

Our stay was nothing short of amazing. Many reviews have already said it, but I'll say it again - the photos don't even compare to how beautiful this property is. From the moment you walk in the front door, you're not only greeted with an incredible view, but also the amazing hospitality of Anna and Raul. These two helped make the trip incredible. Raul kept the grounds clean, the pool sparkling, and the towels and fridge stocked. Anna's cooking is amazing - her chili rellenos and carne asada (grilled by Raul) was some of the best we've ever had. They took great care of us. The property is a short ride into the romantic zone (most Ubers were about $5) and about 20 minutes from Costco and La Comer. We stayed during the humid, rainy season, but the A/C kept the house nice and cold, the pool was perfect for cooling off, and the views of the afternoon thunderstorms made for incredible sunsets. We already cannot wait to come back and have recommended this house to numerous friends. Thank you so much!

The location is less than 10 min from town with perfect views. The taxis were always 5 min away Beautiful finishes and convenient layout. Ana and Raul were excellent hosts and prepared all of my favorite Mexican dishes. They also provided us with all the privacy we desired.

Exotic Paradise
Villa Ensueno was an absolute dream. The property is stunning, the vistas are unrivaled, and the hospitality (Ana and Raul) was outstanding! 6 of us escaped the cold weather in the U.S. to enjoy 5 days in Conchas Chinas neighborhood in Puerto Vallarta. Ana and Raul served some of the best and authentic Mexican food (chile rellenos, taquitos, quac and salsa, quesadillas, fish tacos, chorizo, fresh fruit, the works) as well as delicious cocktails (margaritas, pina coladas). The perfect sized (and heated) infinity pool overlooked Banderas Bay with surfacing humpback whales and nearby mountains teaming with birds of paradise, iguanas, and a white-nosed coati! The location was perfect as it was about 7 minute taxi ride to the Romantic District and about 30 minute ride to the port or airport. A nearby beach is also accessible by walking down the street. We hiked along the beach until we reached the Malecon Boardwalk which was a great day trip. Highly recommend this property if you are looking for the ultimate rest and relaxation experience!

A Great Family Vacation
Several of my family members vacationed with me at this villa in August 2021. Location and views were outstanding. Views are amazing and exactly like the pictures. Staff at the house were extremely accommodating and helpful. Food and service was way above expectations, we were spoiled. Vila is very relaxing and casual. Pool and deck area were a key focal point during the vacation. Overall an outstanding vacation, villa and staff were tremendous...always willing to help.

A dream vacation

Return to Paradise and the best Chile Relleno in the world!
We have been renting this home since 2008. It only gets better with age. We have known the house staff also since 2008. This is old Vallarta architecture at its very best. The recent addition of a 3rd suite and the unbelievable new pool deck have given the villa a major upgrade.
Ana and Raul are simply awesome. Provide Ana shopping list for meals and bar needs and then settle up daily after she shops. Her cooking is excellent - she makes the best Chile Relleno in the world! Raul keeps the poolside fridge stocked with your favorite beverages and makes sure the ice (or the pool towels) ever run out! New ACs keep the bedrooms freezing at night - the breeze never stops if you prefer open air. We spend the majority of our trip out by the pool drinking margaritas and enjoying the sun and the views. The new Turkish towels were so luxurious I ordered a set upon returning home! Book this property, enjoy one of the classiest villas in Vallarta, and have a ball. Taxis come to the house in a bout 3 minutes, take less than 5-8 minutes to get to the Romatica Zone, and cost less than $5 US dollars! We will definitely be back again!!! Thank you to the team of folks who keep Villa Ensueno perfect everytime!

Spectacular views and lovely neighborhood
Our stay at Villa Ensueno exceeded our expectations. The house has excellent outdoor space for dining, lounging at the pool, and watching the sunset. The Conchas Chinas neighborhood is very safe and an inexpensive cab or Uber (or leisurely 20 minute walk) to downtown where there are amazing restaurants and great shopping.

Puerto Valatta Is Underrated
March 11, 2018 - My wife and I recently returned home after spending 30 wonderful days at this fabulous villa. We had “booked” it in early 2017, prior to all the negative US news regarding Mexico. To be honest, we both felt somewhat tepid about our choice. But now, all we do is raved about PV, especially the obliging, very polite Mexican people. My wife, a former UAL airline employee, and I, have traveled a lot over the past 50 years, vacationing in many countries. While returning home, we couldn’t decide if this was our best vacation or not. So, we agreed it’s in our top three.
In order of “likes” - 1)Beautiful weather (in February). Very similar to Hawaii. PV is the same latitude as Hawaii, with low humidity, and gentle, warm, breezes. There were a few mosquitoes at night. 2)Picturesque vista views from the lanai. Jungle mountains to our left and azure Pacific to our right. We witnessed stunning sunsets every night.
3)Crashing sounds of waves. This made for pleasant sleeping at night. Although the villa is about 30 stories above the water, the mountains and cliffs funnel these pleasing sounds to the villa. 4)The villa, with cool architecture, open space and sweeping views of the outdoors. It’s tastefully appointed with an uncluttered layout. 5)Rhythms Of The Night - I’m not a lover of theater, musicals, Broadway, etc. but this was a remarkable evening with a fantastic 60 minute performance by very specialized entertainers, after a 45 minute ocean ride, and buffet dinner. Don’t miss it. It’s worth every penny. 6)Ana and Raul. Both are very nice people who genuinely want to serve you. Ana is an excellent cook and makes anything you want. You tell her what you want for the next day and she procures the items. 7)Mexican people in general. Just really nice authentic, friendly, down-to-earth, family oriented, people, who take pride in their work. 8)Personal security. Never once felt concerned or threatened. We left our outside bedroom sliding door open every night.
9)Everyday prices. The average daily wage in PV is $8.00 USD. Food and taxis are inexpensive. There are plenty of Uber drivers, who charge approximately 50% of regular taxis’. You do NOT need to rent a car. Also, the buses, although third world, are fun to ride, at 80 US cents per person. 10) Restaurants and food. Jerold (the owner) has a list of places to eat, which we endorse. 11) Conchas Chinas is a wealthy neighborhood away from hotels and downtown.

Stunning Villas Perched over Conchas Chinas PV !!!! 5 Star Plus!!!!
This was one of the most memorable vacations my wife and I have experience, and we have traveled extensively. For the past many months we had corresponded with Jerold, one of the owners, and he was most helpful in pre-planning the trip. We were greeted at the door by Ana, the cook and housekeeper upon our arrival. After a tour of the home we relaxed by the pool, with Margaritas, chips, salsa and guacamole, courtesy of Ana. The property has breathtaking views and furnished with a high-end Mexican flair. An open floor plan and folding doors expose breathtaking panoramic views of the green hills and the Pacific. The grounds are amazing with many floral trees, plants and bushes. Ana's first dinner was grilled snapper and her favorite sides - not to be missed! One evening, a few friends staying in Puerto Neueve, visited for dinner. At Jerold's recommendation, we asked Anna to set up a Mexican night, complete with an 8 piece mariachi band, and buffet. Our friends loved the property and were well impressed with the event. Each day was a life of luxury. Old Puerto Vallarta was a $3 cab ride away. We chose not to rent a car and happy with the decision. As I understand from Jerold, renovations will take place summer 2017 and the new and improved villa! We can't rave enough and will miss our morning cup of coffee viewing the Bay of Banderas. Thank you!

Our home away from home!
Villa Ensueno formerly known as Casa Ensueno Tropical is a lovely, private, open air floor plan villa. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to see how beautiful the view was. Most of the rooms open up to a large patio with panoramic views of the ocean and mountains. Gorgeous walls of bougainvillea, mandevilla, and other tropical plants keep the villa very private.
We spent most of our time relaxing and enjoying the views with a tasty cold margarita and splashing in the very private infinity pool.
Anna and Raul are wonderful villa staff. They went out of their way to take care of all our needs. Anna not only keeps the villa very clean, she is a wonderful chef. We had her make one to two meals a day and were not disappointed. Request the red snapper, or the shrimp enchiladas. Just let her know when and what you would like to eat and she will do all the shopping. Raul takes care of the grounds and pool. He kept everything looking wonderful and made sure we always had clean pool towels.
Jerold the owner was pleasant, friendly, helpful, and accommodating...a pleasure to communicate with by phone or email.
We have stayed at other villas in PV in the past but now we consider Villa Ensueno our home away from home and have already booked our return for 2017 & 2018.

Paradise!
We had the pleasure of staying at this property last month with our son and another couple and couldn't have been more satisfied. Where do I begin!? The view, the chef, the location...All perfect. It was perfect for our group. We rarely used the car and could walk down the hill to a nearby beach.
The place was immaculate and very fine linens.
We are world travelers that frequent 4 and 5 star hotels. This definitely fits in that category with the added bonus of your own home and personal chef. The view is similar to that of overlooking the Mediterranean in either France or Italy!

EXCELLENT GETAWAY!
My husband and I recently spent a beautiful week at the Villa Ensueno, our very first time in Puerto Vallarta. OMG, it was such a treat! The villa is very secluded, behind walls in a private neighborhood just above the beach, overlooking the ocean. The views are breathtaking the moment you walk through the front door. This retreat went well beyond our expectations.
The villa is nestled in a magnificent nature setting with vibrate flowers, singing birds, with amazing mountain and ocean views. We were so pleased not to see other villas blocking our view...total privacy. The spacious villa, with its grand entrance, was so comfortable with all the rooms open to the view. It was a fantastic indoor/outdoor experience I'd love to have at my home. Each morning we awoke to the sounds of exotic birds and a gorgeous sunrise, and each evening we were treated to spectacular sunsets, each minute different from the next.
What can I say about Ana and Raul...they were so delightful to be around and so helpful. Most days we had Ana cook at least one if not two meals a day - fabulous gourmet meals. Raul kept the pool sparkling and delivered Margaritas and fresh towels to us in the infinity pool whenever we wanted. The villa was always spotless, bedrooms made and laundry cleaned. We couldn't ask for anything more.
Villa Ensueno is the most peaceful environment for a relaxing vacation yet so close to the Romantic Zone or the beach. We are absolutely going to return!

Nice house...
We recently stayed at Casa Sueno Tropical.. The house has a spectacular view and beautiful outdoor space.. The pros and cons are as follows:
Pros:
Lovely outdoor space, great pool. Fabulous view..it is exceptionally beautiful.
Comfortable bedrooms.
Close to town.
Ana, who will do the shopping and cooking .(very good cook).
Cons:
The house is up a rather steep hill. Not easy to go running, take a walk to town and return.. Not fun to go to beach.
We have rented condos many times in PV. The linen closet is usually stocked with towels, extra sheets blankets and pillows. There was absolutely nothing in the closets in this house.. Everything was kept in a locked basement area and only Ana had the key. Over the course of the week I asked for another towel(we had received one) , a blanket and a pillow. On two occasions Ana left without giving me what I asked for... If items were kept in the house it would not have been an issue..Not what you would expect in a “luxury” house. I felt like I was in some third world youth hostel where I received one towel a week..
The kitchen was not great. Small space, old appliances, pots and pans. NO dishwasher.. If you have any intention of cooking for yourself, forget it unless you want to wash dishes.
The house was a little tired.. It needed new faucets, kitchen appliances, bigger TV . It is kept extremely clean and well maintained however.
The house instruction book was ridiculously inadequate. No information about the TV, cable, lights.. Nothing about beaches in the area, buses… the kind of thing most good rental houses provide. We didn’t exactly know how Ana worked and in e mails before with the owner we received very little information. We were assured there was info in the house, but there wasn’t..
We enjoyed our stay and I would recommend it...Just be aware of the location and ask a lot of questions before...

Perfect!
We stayed at Casa Sueno Tropical for a week in the beginning of June with our two children (ages 12,7). The house was beautiful, view spectacular and location was perfect. We were able to walk to the public beach just down the hill. Centro is just a short taxi ride away. But who needs to go to town when you have everything you need at your fingertips. Ana made our stay just as we imagined. We would love to return some day.

Wonderful Getaway!
I couldn't not have asked for a better accommodation in Puerta Vallarta. This house was spotlessly clean and exactly as beautiful as the photos on VRBO. Ana was a wonderful hostess and I enjoyed working with Robert to reserve the rental. My fondest memory of our stay in Puerta Vallarta is arriving from a long journey and having a lovely steak dinner and large pitcher of ice cold mojitos set before me for dinner. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Amazing- Beautiful- Relaxing
Our stay at this villa was nothing short of unbelievable. We really wished we could have stayed a little longer. Ana is an excellent cook and a real pleasure to have around. The villa had all the amenities we were looking for in a vacation rental. It is located very close to The Malecon (downtown) and getting a taxi cab is extremely easy. Taxi's took aprrox. 5 minutes to show at the door and was a mere 50- 70 pesos depending on the driver.
The only negative thing we can say about our visit was that the pool light never worked while we were there..so fortunately I had brought along some candles which came in handy to light up the pool area at night.
Next time we go to Puerto Vallarta we will definitely look into staying here again.
