We had a nice, relaxing weekend. So close to the beach. Cottage was nice, had everything we needed. Large screened in porch was a great place to relax. Deserved 5 stars.

This was a very nice stay and excellent location! The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was a bit of a smell in the toilet which we couldn’t figure out. Also taking sheets and towels is a little cumbersome but the hosts were super responsive and helpful and it was so nice to have a relaxed place.

Cottage, comfy and quiet. Kitchen surprisingly minimal - 2 burner cooktop meant no pan for making family breakfast, no strainer or saucepans. AC split in main BR very noisy. Great outdoor shower. Indoor shower needs anti slip mat and stable shelves. Outdoor grill rusting. Very pleasant screen porch. Pricey given all the above.

My dad, my partner, and our dogs stayed here for our beach vacation this year. Dewey is so convenient for us because it is dog friendly, has plenty of food/stores, and is super close to the Rehoboth shopping center and boardwalk (6 minute drive from this location). The walk to the beach from the house is less than 5 minutes and the private parking for this rental was perfect for us. There was really no noise either, which we were surprised by given the proximity to so many other houses and the main road. The house itself has a lovely screened in porch area and an outside picnic table that we enjoyed. The living room area had comfortable couches and the TV worked well. We were nervous about not having an oven but we brought a tabletop grill for outside and between that and the kitchen cooktop, we were good to go. The fridge is full size and the freezer has an ice machine. Bedrooms were comfortable sizes and the beds were also comfortable. In general the house could use some updating (the sconces in the bedroom almost fell off the wall when I clicked the light on, the shower shelves are add-ons and seem to be falling out so nothing stays on them) but honestly for the location and convenience of bringing the dogs it's very worth it in my opinion. It felt a tiny bit cramped at times with three adults and dogs but it was manageable, especially since we were mostly on the beach or shopping the whole time.

We love returning to Dewey each year because of the closeness to the beach and our puppy loves meeting new friends everyday at sunrise and sunset !

Great spot for our weekend stay. House had everything we needed and it was a good size for the three of us. Despite being steps from the strip, it was quiet and very little traffic in front of the house. Easy to communicate! Thank you!

The cottage was very clean and had nice amenities, close to the beach and very convenient off street parking! We especially loved the screened in porch!

The cottage is perfect! It has all you need, and it's a short walk to the beach. Our two labs loved it, too. Nice hose. We were able to rinse them off before entering the house.

While this property was close to the beach, and clean, our check-in was the worst we've experienced yet with VRBO. The directions on how to get INTO the house were very thin. At first the keys did not work. I was unable to connect with the owner for several hours and VRBO kept me on hold for at least 30 minutes. I finally figured out how to work the lock so the keys would let me in...but I sure wish I'd gotten better instructions before then. (I got almost none. Just the code)
Also it got quite cold while we were there. There were no instructions on how to turn on the heat, and when I did, it only reached 50 degrees in the house (it was in the low 40s outside). The heat evidently is set on 50 for economy, but the house remained very cold.
The place IS close to the beach, and fine for a short stay with just two people. It is very small inside with a tiny bathroom.
Sorry to be so critical, but honestly, I've never experienced a VRBO rental where there were NO or very sparse instructions on how to access and "use" the house.

What an adorable cottage! It’s so nice to see some of the original beach cottages are still around and this one was perfect for us. It was clean, steps from the beach and private although it is very close to everything. The screened in porch was so nice too. Chris was a great host and easily extended our stay when we didn’t want to leave. Thank you for welcoming our dog too. We’ll be back!

Had a nice week overall. A little surprised at how crowded it was at Dewey Beach- we are used to the beaches in Maine! Also surprised property so close to the popular bar Starboard- my college kid was thrilled. Even tho we were close- you couldn't hear loud music playing from the bar. Cottage quiet except for dogs barking from adjoining cottage when their people were away. Cottage very close to beach, walking distance to eateries-and had adequate parking for 3 cars. Had problem with main AC but owner called repairman and other AC units were able to still cool cottage (super hot week). Dishwasher did not appear to work but didn’t have heart to convey to owner after complaining about AC. Was a good week. Cottage had everything we needed!

Location: Proximity to the beach is excellent- 50 feet to the access. Beach is lovely and clean. Dogs allowed before 830am and then after 5pm - be aware that not all owners are responsible in cleaning up after their dogs. Dolphins and pelicans made a daily visit. Front porch screened in and that was wonderful. The owners did state there was no oven ahead of time but it would have been nice to have had one. Refrigerator and very small bathroom clean. Large people will have trouble in this bathroom. Contact with the owners was good ans they were very pleasant.
Difficulties: The house is very close to the main road with a VERY noisy bar on the corner. Fridays and Saturdays were crazy with police and ambulance sirens going through to 1 - 2 am. Once inside the house, the noise is subdued. Rugs- grimy and stained. Air conditioner in the living room did not work - owners made aware but never fixed in the week we were there. The air conditioners in the bedrooms did work. They definitely need a new cleaning service. The house can use a refresher. No bikes, or beach chairs were made available so we did have to bring our own. My family enjoyed the week mostly because of its proximity to the beach and to Rehoboth boardwalk.

The amenities were exactly as described in the listing. So close to everything, you can park and walk or take the trolly where you want to go. The screened porch was perfect to relax any time of day.

This darling cottage is the perfect getaway just steps away from the beach. The screened porch is a lovely feature and was my favorite place to spend time out of the sun with my family.

Disappointing
Was not able to turn on heat. There were no instructions on how to do it. There were no linens, towels, hand soap or dish soap provided. This should’ve been communicated in the description of the property when booking . The bathroom was small and outdated. Would not recommend this property to others.

Small, but perfect
Just the right size for us and our pup. Love the screened in porch. Stove top is quite small, but worked for our pre-marathon pasta dinner. House was clean and had everything we needed. Host was communicative. Our stay was far to short!

Amazing Hidden Getaway- Book if Available
Perfect location and size! Front porch allowed different covid-19 bubbles to safely gather outside, even when it was raining. Chris was very responsive, flexible and amazing host! Parking space was key, made all sight seeing trips less stressful knowing we had a reserved parking spot when we got back. We rented both units and opened the porch divider to easily hang out on the combined porch. Best part was the beach being steps away, so it was very easy to walk over. If available- book this!!!

Great location, great house!
The house was perfect for my husband, myself and our daughter and boyfriend. We rented the house because we were competing in the Dewey Beach triathlon. The house was cute, clean, comfortable and in the perfect location! Would definitely stay here again. Also, location to the beach was perfect!!

Get away at Dewey Beach
Very smooth transaction renting through Vrbo. Location was great, beach was so close. Enjoyed the screened in porch! Unfortunately, I guess due to off season and COVID-19, there wasn't a lot of things open on the early week days. We stayed Monday thru Thursday. No fault of the rental, just the timing I guess.

Location was awesome, along with our own private driveway to fit both vehicles - that was a blessing, especially with how hard it is to find a spot to park on busier weekends. The screened in porch was perfect for eating breakfast and dog watching with our dogs. Thanks Chris, the four of us and our two dogs had a blast!

End-of-summer weekend
Great small bungalo/cottage to host a last blast of summer weekend for the wife, dog, and myself. Location is fantastic with tons of walkable activities in Dewey Beach. It's just off the main strip in Dewey, but far enough off the road to knock down most of the noise, and just a few houses off of the beach. The unit itself is older with some upgrades, but it's a simple place (accurately advertised) with off-street parking (extremely valuable) with a great screened-in porch. When we were at the house, I'd say we spent the majority of our time on the porch.

excellent location, close to the beach
We had an excellent stay in this cottage. We have small children so the proximity to the beach, mini golf, and food options was perfect for us. We could walk to everything and still run back to the house if we forgot anything while out. Cottage was clean and fit our needs for our stay. Having a private off road parking space was also great!

This cottage is really near the beach and restaurants, so it is very convenient. Also, there is a private driveway to park my car.

Perfect Getaway
Wonderful little cottage in an AMAZING location. Tucked away, but just steps from the beach and a ton of restaurants and shops. It was perfect for us and our three pugs. The screened porch was amazing, with a great view of the beach access road. Perfect beach vacation.
