The house while very spacious and open, needs a thorough cleaning and paint job. For a six bedroom house there were not enough wash cloths. I feel we pay a cleaning fee for a reason and for the overall price I would expect cleanliness. Dead bugs in the kitchen lights and windowsills. I must say Linda was very responsive and helpful.

What a beautiful home! We gathered with 3 other families and there was plenty of room for our kids to run around and for the adults to all have our own space. The property was gorgeous (I’m sure it’s really pretty in the fall!) and the amenities (hot tub, owners club access) were perfect for our group. My only complaint was that the cleaning could have been done a little better. For the nightly price we paid, I expected to not find dead bugs (ladybugs) throughout the house on the kitchen floor, on my bed pillow, and in the living room. I know you can’t help where they come from with the wooded location of the home but it seemed like it could have been taken care of in an easy sweep/vacuum. Overall we were thrilled with our stay and will absolutely be returning!

The only problem was that the listing underrated this terrific property. House was huge for the 11 of us. Each family had its own floor and the house was so well-equipped, we almost didn’t have to leave. Enjoyed cooking without running into each other in the well designed kitchen.

The Powderhorn Gap rental was just as it was described and shown in the VRBO listing. I was blown away by the bathroom in every room, this was especially perfect for the family's with small children! The kitchen was spacious, there was huge table for meals to fit all of us in a dining area and a good size table off the kitchen for gathering and game playing. The pool table, hot tub, game table and projector in the basement were nice additions and enjoyed by all (we did not use the weight room, but it looked well-kept and in good condition)! The only downside was the projector/dish in the basement was manual select channel (no channel guide available), otherwise it was a great space for kids and adults. The community pool and recreational center was awesome (not too far away) - a perfect way for the kids to burn off some energy! Overall, a 5-star review and I would highly recommend.

This is our second year at Powderhorn Gap. We met for a girl's weekend traveling from Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin. The home is spacious and plenty of room for the eleven of us. The only complaint we had were the lady bugs in the kitchen area. I think that is just about the weather getting cold and they are coming inside to get warm. The home was clean, and the beds were comfortable,

Ended up having a great time at the place even though there was a maintenance issue. Manager wand maintenance were prompt and helpful, resolved within a day. Amenities were all there though well used, fireplace remote was broken and projectors could use new bulbs. Still worthwhile.

This was a perfect house for my wife and I to spend a week with my four siblings and their spouses. Each couple had a spacious bedroom with an ensuite bath. Plenty of space on the main floor and in the basement to socialize. Kitchen was well equipped and we could all eat together in the spacious dining room. A highlight was the Galena Territory Owners Club, to which we had passes to enjoy the pool, workout room, and gym, where we all learned to play pickleball. And several of us enjoyed the large hut tub. Highly recommend this clean, spacious, well equipped house for a quite, private getaway.

This was a great house for our 6 person group business retreat - everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom. The A/C units in the 3 upstairs bedrooms were a bit noisy - had to turn them off to sleep (thankfully it wasn’t too hot). Perfect location near Eagle Ridge and not too far from downtown Galena. We didn’t use the hot tub or Owner’s Club amenities. Thanks for a great stay!

We stayed over the Fourth of July weekend - two families in the house and one that came for just the day to see everyone. Plenty of space and everything was in good condition/clean. Kids loved the pool table, hot tub, and movie room. It was too hot to play outside but the yard has plenty of space for games. Kids used the community pool as well. The kitchen was well stocked - we ate all of our meals at the house. Close enough to Galena to go in easily but far enough out to just relax.

We were a group of 11 friends who travel yearly for a long weekend. The house accommodated all of the couples very well with private bathrooms for each bedroom. There was plenty of space to spread out and all of the amenities we needed. The home was very clean and the property was beautiful! Our party of 12 stayed here and it was perfect! The location was quiet and safe, yet close enough to downtown Galena to enjoy some shopping and dinner. There was plenty of room for all of us to sit in our yard chairs and enjoy a nice evening outside. We also enjoyed the nice hot tub while others played pool! They had everything we needed for a great 3 days in this beautiful Galena home! Thank you for letting us borrow your house to celebrate my parent's 50th Anniversary! We would definitely come and stay again!

I booked this house to hold my entire family for my daughter's wedding. My husband & I arrived on Wed. the place was very clean and everything looked great. Thursday morning I went to take a shower I could not get any hot water. We started to check the faucets to see if everything was okay in the bathrooms. We then discovered one bathroom sink wasn't draining, one faucet was leaking and the kitchen faucet was leaking. We called the management company and my husband explained what was gong on. They were very nice & responsive on the phone & they sent someone out. He said one of the tanks were broken an bypassed one of them. They fixed the problem but could not fix all the sinks because they did not have all the parts. My children & grandchildren came & they went to flush the toilet & the handle broke off. We decided not to call & be a bother but then the third problem started. Each of the upstairs bedrooms has it's own air conditioner because the one unit is not enough for the house. One of them wouldn't work properly. We let it go the first night because we didn't want to seem like complainers. The second night the 18month old wouldn't go down since the room was hot. We called & management was quick to respond. They do not have any screens so they had to send someone out the next day to replace the unit. Having to call them with so many problems on such a important weekend was a pain. They need to clean the shower heads with lime away. Media cabinet is falling apart dangerous

Really loved the size and layout of this house for a group with multi families. We've stayed here before and note that the house does not heat evenly throughout which causes the upstairs and basement to be quite cool. A drain in a basement bathroom was plugged, and the basement bedroom itself was not properly cleaned. We noticed and appreciated the new living room furniture which replaced what had been there. Nice addition.

Twelve of us had an amazing stay at #3 Powerhorn Gap! Having a private bedroom with adjoining full baths for each couple was perfect. Our group shared meal prep, spending time on the deck, playing yard games, and board games. The amenities that came along with the rental were excellent. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. The property was clean and well stocked. The information we received prior to our stay was very helpful. There are many things to do and explore in nearby Galena. We would like to come and stay here again.

Family Vacation
We had a wonderful time. The house and location were perfect! It was well stocked, and the resort was great. The house could use some general upkeep. The doors were difficult to move, the screens needed repair. Luckily my son in law is an IT guy, as there were multiple remotes, no directions for any of the electronics.
The property was lovely, with plenty of wildlife, and privacy! Our family will look forward to staying at this home again!
