Nice place, helpful host.

This is an amazing little apartment, the owner has really made the best use of the space. There are two comfortable double beds, one of which is accessed with a steep set of stairs, and is like a mezzanine floor just above the kitchen area. Low ceilings here so watch your head! The place is clean, creatively decorated and had everything that we wanted from our stay. The host is contactable by phone and updated on us about key collection. She was also lovely enough to recommend local bars and restaurants and what cuisines to try out in the area. There are quite a few funky bars a few minutes walk around the block, it is however about 20-25 minute brisk walk to get to the douro river and the famous bridge and the city centre area, though on a nice day its lovely to walk through the streets if porto.

There was car parking available around the corner in a public car park. The ticket is left for you in the safe once you enter the building. The male security who was at the car park doesn't speak English and is a bit grumpy, refused to speak to me (possibly because I was a girl) and kept shooing me away and wanting to speak to my husband (who had no clue of what was happening as I organised the holiday mostly). Take him with a pinch of salt and a nervous laugh, and don't let him ruin your holiday/stay as the flat is great and so is Porto.
