Loved our time there!

Clean and beautiful home. Very practical for a full sized family. I took my grandparents, my parents, my wife and 2 children (under 2)… definitely would stay here again if we came back to the area.

Everything worked! Excellent location between Red Arrow Highway and the beach, minutes to shopping, relaxing hot tub, warming wood burning fireplace, complete cooking utensils to prepare 15 Thanksgiving dinners in modern 5 star home.

My sister and our friends have been planning a little girls’ weekend away for months now. Lakeside was exactly what we were hoping for. Plenty of space in the house (loved that there were 3 bathrooms), absolutely spotless and a great location for anywhere you want to go. We loved enjoying our coffee on the large porch and chatting in the beautiful weather we had. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

We vacation in this area almost every summer. Love the beaches and the relaxed vibe of SW Michigan. This is one of the best rentals we have booked: super clean, well supplied kitchen, great back yard, good floor plan, and great location. There are beach towels, chairs, wagon and toys! You really don’t need to pack many extras. Management company was great, too. Five stars!

My family (my parents, myself, sister and my 9 year old) spent a week at Sunnyside Cottage in Lakeside. We absolutely loved the home. It was in spotless condition when we arrived. The cottage decor is gorgeous and fits in well with the beach theme. With 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, we all had our private space when needed, but the kitchen with the to-die-for island and the cozy livingroom offered us great places to gather. We spent most of our time at the private beach (small, but beautiful and never crowded and a very easy walk, about 5 minutes). We also rented bikes and enjoyed some beautiful bike rides along Lakeshore Road. We also loved the front porch, very spacious with a great porch swing. The location is perfect, so close to the beach but a very short drive away to coffeeshops, bakeries and New Buffalo restaurants. Jason and staff were also very responsive and easy to work with. We would highly recommend this cottage if you plan to vacation in Harbor Country!

The place is fully stocked with beach chairs, towels and toys. All you need to do is bring yourself. Management is very responsive.

The house was nicely updated and had everything we needed. There are lots of beach toys and necessities which is nice so you don't have to bring your own. It was a quick walk to a private beach where we enjoyed watching the sunset many nights. It was also a short drive to Warren Dunes State Park where we could rent paddle boards and kayaks or hike the dunes. That was fun for a full beach day. The management company was great; very quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Overall it was a good property. The only reason for the four star rating instead of a five is the road to the house is a poorly maintained gravel road that is so full of potholes. You also walk along this on your way to the beach. Things are overgrown and it makes the area seem unkept. I don't believe this has anything to do with the management company of course. I'm sure the city of Lakeside is responsible for that. It would be nice if they could fix it, since that's your first impression as you arrive at the house. This was our first visit to Michigan and we look forward to exploring even more of this beautiful state!

Our group was me and my wife, our kids and 3 ofm y sisters. There was plenty of room for everyone. The house was great and I can only imagine how beautiful the area is in the summer. (we visited during a snow storm and it was still fun!)

We needed just a mini getaway and this was the perfect place! Incredibly clean and comfortable with everything we needed for the week!

Sunnyside Cottage was the perfect place for our family to spend Thanksgiving. From the well-appointed kitchen to the cozy fireplace, our family was able to spend time together playing games, watching movies, and walking the beach for amazing sunsets. Everything about Sunnyside made the long weekend fun for everyone, whether it was time spent in the hot tub, reading a book by the fire, or playing cards at the large dining table. And at the end of the day, we were able to retreat to our rooms and get a great night's sleep. Thank you for helping us make great memories!

We enjoyed are stay in SW Michigan. This house was conveniently located to great restaurants, breweries and wineries. We loved the hot tub and beach access. We hope to book again.

The sunnyside cottage was the perfect place to spend a long weekend with our group of friends. The house was fully stocked and spacious and had awesome extra amenities like a hot tub, outdoor shower, huge front porch with swing, and an indoor wood burning fireplace. The house was definitely clean and well stocked with most of the necessary home stuff like beach supplies, games and books, dishes and cooking supplies, but make sure you bring tupperware, oil, spices and coffee as you would with most vacation rentals. If I had any complaint, the beds/pillows/sheets didn't match the quality of what would be expected judging by the rest of the house, but I always bring my own pillows anyway so I got by. What made the place really worth returning to is the access to the private beach! It's a couple minute walk past some really cool houses to get to a private, quiet beach with gorgeous sand and blue water. We also went to Warren Dunes and instantly regretted it because it wasn't as nice as our little private beach (private meaning just for neighborhood/association use, there were always a couple other families around but it was never crowded). Overall, it was a special, quiet and peaceful place and definitely worth another trip someday!

We really enjoyed the property and Jason and his team were great to work with. There were a couple of minor issues that were resolved and communication was great.

My family (adults and children (1-6 yr old) were very happy with our stay at Sunnyside Cottage! The house was very clean and well stocked with everything needed for a great week. Highlights: BEACH Easy short walk to the beach. There are some stairs but nothing we couldn’t handle. We brought a wagon and used that to haul beach stuff and the one year old. The beach is beautiful. It’s set between two private beaches. Most of the days we had enough space for social distancing. HOUSE Clean house Nicely updated and decorated Games, legos, beanie babies for kids My girls loved the front porch swing and the swings in the back yard. We spent most of our time on the spacious front porch. Blue Fish Vacation Rentals was fantastic to work with! Jason and Erica were very prompt and helpful with information. We look forward to our lake vacay next summer!!

Property was clean, well stocked, easy to enter; great porch with lots of chairs. Plenty of seasoned wood for fires. Hot tub was delightful, serviced once while we were there. Super kitchen and big table for family to gather. Only glitch, due to crazy COVID, couldn't access beach stuff in the 'playhouse'. Easy walk to beach. Would HIGHLY recommend

Perfect house in a great location!! The layout of the house is so nice and the communication with the management was excellent if we had any questions! Will definitely look to stay again.

Stayed here as part of a group of 7 best friends, and we had a fantastic experience!! The hose was so amazing and very well appointed that we wound up spending most of our time enjoying hanging out around the house or exploring the quiet nearby beach and peaceful neighborhood! We are already scheming how we can make a stay at this adorable cottage happen again next year! Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Two families (4 adults and 4 children) stayed a week at the Sunnyside Cottage. We loved everything about our accommodations. As advertised, it was sunny and open in the main living area. All rooms were modern and recently remodeled. The location was prime for visits to New Buffalo, Warren Dunes beach, and St. Joe's. The private beach was nearby and easily accessible. I highly recommend and would stay there again on a future trip to the area.

We loved this property, the location, the amenities, easy check-in. The large and well-stocked kitchen was great. The property was very clean, having stocked firewood was such a treat. We hope to stay here again!

We loved our trip to Lakeside and Sunnyside Cottage! The cottage was airy and spacious, clean, updated and had everything we needed for a wonderful week! The walk to the beach was three short blocks, a little far for toddler legs... but the wagon provided in the playhouse was a great way to haul everyone back after a long day of swimming and sand castle building! Thanks for sharing your home with us!

This property was perfect. The house was immaculate. The kitchen was to die for and the openness to the living area was perfect. Beds were very comfortable. Walks in the neighborhood we’re very enjoyable. The walk to the very nice beach was easy even for us elderly grandparents. Quite a bit of driving for groceries or any other stores. Nothing much available nearby.

I want to thank both Jason from Bluefish rentals and his staff for making this vacation week the best my family has enjoyed in the last five years of trips to the New Buffalo area. Jason has been able to make our stay so easy with his extra care and helpfulness. One year he solved an issue of a lightning strike to our vacation unit in the middle of the night. This year he helped at arrange the delivery and pickup of an oxygen concentrator to the house for my use. The Sunnyside Cottage had everything we needed to make our week extra special. The only request would be a fire-ring at the cottage for those evening bonfires. Thanks again for a wonderful week!
