This is just the perfect apartment. It's clean, pretty, and in a good location, there is everything you need inside if you looking for self-catering place. Groceries and restaurants nearby.

Apartment is in the centre of the main village in the valley. Quiet location because nothing much is going on after dark. Fully equipped kitchen, spacious bathroom and comfortable beds.

Only partially good views from the small balcony because the apartment is at the back of the building. The second apartment has a bigger balcony and better views.

Apartment is quite dark and not so cosy. All restaurants in the village close early (6-8pm).

Manuel prepared apartment like a home. We had even a milk in fridge to morning coffe. Magic views!! Guys.. it is really worth to stay 2 days. If we plan to hiking Madera mountains, we will stay here , for sure.

Very big apartment with a beautiful mountain view. There was everything we needed. Even a coffee machine with cofee capsules.

Musty smells in the kitchen. Opening windows helped.

everything was perfect

Very nice village. Great location for mountain hikes. We spent just one night, but tried local restaurant, shop and a cafeteria. The next day after our check-out we did a short walk to Eira do Serrado. Because we didn't want to left our car on the street with all of our baggage during our trip, we could even park in the owners garage. Owners are very nice and the communication was easy. We definitely recommend the stay.

I would appreciate a kettle, thus i'm a tea drinker :)

The accommodation (2 bedroom Cherry apartment) is clean, tidy and spacious. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need for self catering. The bathroom is very clean with plenty of hot water for the shower or bath. Good free WiFi throughout the apartment. There's a nice balcony with table, chairs and sun shade which is ideal for breakfast or just relaxing and taking in the spectacular views of the valley. Communication with the host for check-in and check-out is very good. The location is ideal being in the centre of the village with a well stocked small convenience store and restaurants a short distance away. There is a cafe below the apartment that sells fresh bread in the morning for breakfast and can provide lovely fresh sandwiches to takeaway, ideal for a day exploring the surrounding area. The bus stop to and from Funchal is close to the accommodation and the buses are regular. This is a great area if you are active and like exploring but being in the mountains there are lots of hills. The village is lively in the day with lots of day tourists but then quiets down in the evenings.

I found it a little warm and uncomfortable at night in bed, possibly due to the covering on the mattress? The actual rooms throughout the apartment are an ideal temperature and air conditioning is not necessary with the cooler mountain climate.

Everything was perfect. Manuel was punctual, kind. he gave us a lot of recommendations about trekking trails and other activities around. The apartment was fully equipped with all nescessary things and was super tidy and cozy. Emanuel speaks perfect english. We totally recommend :)

The location and the view are amazing... perfect if you want to hike or run around Curral das Freiras. The apartment is perfect for a family. The hosts were helpful.

Don't expect to sleep late on Sundays! Not only you get bells ringing at 8AM but the whole Mass happens using a sound-system for the whole village (or is it designed to be heard up to Funchal???) for one hour and a half. Hard luck!
