We had a wonderful visit relaxing and enjoying the beautiful views from our room and garden! The studio was perfect for two people and very close to some quaint and delicious restaurants. It is also not very far from Monterey. We enjoyed our three night stay and would recommend to any couple wanting to get away for a romantic weekend!

Perfect spot for a quiet break from the city. Though small the studio gives you breathtaking view of the valley. I could just sit down and stare out. And Jenn’s garden is a haven for the red-throated hummingbirds. Add to that — it’s dog-friendly. Would definitely be back!

Jenn’s hospitality was nothing short of exceptional, and the view was equally as incredible. The room was cozy and set up perfectly, and the garden below accompanied with Hummingbirds galore- which was the cherry on top for me. It was peaceful, comfortable, and clean, and Jenn had some great suggestions for places to eat in town. I wish we had stayed a day longer, already missing the atmosphere! Thank you Jenn!

Studio was just as I expected. Clean, comfortable and cute as a button. It was stocked with everything I would need while there and the views were amazing! Make sure you have a way to get around easily. Hard to get an Uber here, but other than that a great place to relax and enjoy nature for a long weekend. Beautiful peaceful surroundings. Difficult to find as my phone carrier signal very weak in this area.

We arrive and don't realize that there is no access to a backyard, lawn, dirt or anything. Just a small deck in the back with a killer view. A bit larger patio in the front but no view and just under the road. The first night neighbor's dog barked all night until after 11 pm. Then at 3 am the smoke detector began chirping and we had to deal with that. Then, shortly after that the motion sensor light right outside our bedroom window began turning on and off flooding our bedroom with light! We got very little sleep that night. Talked with the owner who was very apologetic and said she would turn the motion sensor lights off. The next evening, 9 pm, I decide I had better check to make sure she turned the lights off. She didn't. Furthermore, she didn't know how to turn them off. I ended up having to put some tape over the sensor part of the light. The owner Jenn, was apologetic and offered to let us stay another day at no cost. But that didn't work for our schedule. We suggested that she at least comp us for Friday night. She didn't sound interested. Although she wasn't responsible for the barking dog next door and didn't know when her smoke detector was going to have a low battery, she clearly was responsible for the motion sensor light and yet didn't know how to deal with it. All and all our experience was awful that night and we feel she should have been more responsive.

Awesome views - great get-away from hectic traffic and congestion yet close to everything we wanted to see and do. Would stay here again in a heart beat. Exceeded our expectations.

It is as cut as the pictures. There is a car port available to use to keep car in shade Keurig style coffee machine available. View is amazing.

Jenn was a wonderful host and the deck out the back was magical. She has such an exquisite garden as well.

This cottage attached to the owners house is like a stay in a hotel room that has a small cooking area as well. Great views, very quiet, nice queen bed. It does have a small stove but no dishwasher and no disposal etc. But, with all the nice places to eat in Monterey, Carmel, and in Carmel Valley, who would want to cook. Minor issues were the can opener was broken and did not work and there were no extra light bulbs in the unit. Still, I rate the location, unit, view and quiet as equaling 5 stars.

This studio is a must visit. It’s 5 minutes outside Carmel Valley and dead quiet with privacy and amazing views of the valley. Highly recommended!

The property was beautiful, tucked away in the rolling hills of Carmel Valley. The views of the property were breathtaking. Jenn was a lovely host who gave us suggestions of where to go. Only an hour from Big Sur. Close by to restaurants. Lots to do but also a great place to relax and just take in the view.

This is a very nice little spot that worked great for our trip. I would highly recommend using this location and exploring Carmel Valley as a potential alternative to staying in Monterey, as we found the location perfect for what we needed and it is close enough to Monterey if you still want to visit. Very good place for dogs and great spot to enjoy Carmel Valley.

First, the view! Insane! Everything was very clean. S We had everything we needed. Nice quiet neighborhood.

The stay was OK overall. Amenities were very basic and somewhat dated. Fireplace was not able to be used. And dogs woke us up. Incessantly barking one of the mornings.

Thank you, Jenn, for providing this perfect escape. It was just what I needed - a refreshing getaway for recharging, fresh air, exercise and peace in a beautiful setting with my little dog. I'll be back. I think I'll schedule a regular annual or twice-annual trip; it's like Eat, Pray Love without all the flights. Travelers - be sure to avail yourself of all the hiking, walks; Carmel Valley village shopping; dining; cafes; and - in warmer months, perhaps even swimming in community lakes or pools. Carmel-by-the-Sea is a 20-25 minute drive. I thought I'd go there daily, but realized that the peace, quiet, and tranquility surrounded by CV's verdant hillsides from Jen's place - and from parks nearby - were what I wanted most.

Beautiful property in Carmel Valley! We absolutely loved our trip there and the small unit was perfect for us and our dog :) It did get pretty cold the week before Christmas but we were encouraged to use the heater and it worked wonders!

This place was great for our weeklong stay in Carmel. Super close to the Carmel Valley village, and about 25 minutes from Carmel by the Sea. A few notes for clarity: this isn't a completely private house; it's a guest house attached to their home. And the space is a little smaller than the photos appear. But the views and location are amazing, and we really enjoyed our stay.

Great guest house with an amazing view.

A little smaller than appeared online. Nice location, pretty view, quiet. Very limited communication with host. Instructions provided were minimal, and not particularly welcoming. For example, threats in house manual about calling the sheriff if too much noise were a bit off-putting for a quiet senior couple with no intention of partying. Less friendly and welcoming than most short term rentals I have used. But comfortable, adequate, some lighting issues, great view.

We really enjoyed the location, stay and serenity. Great place to stay!

We spent 3 nights here with our large dog and had a fabulous stay. The place is cozy; the view is beautiful; and the surrounding garden is amazing. The bed was super comfortable and the amenities were super useful. Highly recommend as an alternative to staying in Carmel.

Jenn's place is warm, cozy, quiet, and everything you could want in a nice vacation getaway. We spent 5 wonderful nights there, and did everything we could imagine from dawn to dusk! it was so nice to go back to this property after a "long, hard day on the trail", lol. Couldn't have asked for anything better!

This place is so beautiful. We spoke to the owner one afternoon while she was watering the plants and she was very nice. The view from the bedroom, kitchen and deck is spectacular!

Quaint, clean and picturesque. The owner is a wonderful person with a rich history in the area and wants nothing more than her guests to enjoy themselves and be comfortable. We were indeed! Just spectacular! Location is even better than advertised!

Jenn's place is the perfect peaceful retreat for a couple. Why would you stay in a hotel when a wonderful place like this exists? My wife and I stayed here celebrating our 25th anniversary. The pictures are accurate: it's a studio with everything we needed: Comfy bed, kitchen with all the basics including a stove/oven, microwave, fridge, & coffee maker, bathroom w/ shower, and a glorious south-facing deck with great morning sunlight and an amazing view. Lots of great hikes nearby and an easy 20 minute trip down the hill to Carmel & Monterey. Carmel Valley Village also has two convenience stores (Village Market & Grapevine) with "Grab and Go" food in case you play all day and get to town after the restaurants are closed (which happened to us, twice.) Hint: Places in the Village that say on Yelp they're open til 9pm will sometimes close early if it's slow. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Jenn!

We loved staying here and it was even nicer than the photos! Jenn has a beautiful, diverse garden with wind chimes and water fountains serenading you. Just below your deck, dozens of hummingbirds come and go all day long to feed, entertaining you while you also enjoy the view. Well-equipped kitchen, comfortable chairs and bed as well as privacy, makes this a special place. Very convenient to Carmel Valley village and just 20 minutes to Carmel with spectacular views. A privilege to enjoy a slice of heaven!

The photos are accurate. We were out and about for most of our stay but coming back to the studio at the end of the day was a great retreat. The property is very easy to find, and only about 5 minutes away from Carmel Valley Village. The bed is comfortable and if you open the doors and/or windows you get a lovely cross breeze (we were there toward the end of a heat wave).

This well-equipped studio has a spectacular view of the surrounding hills of Carmel Valley. The back deck also overlooks the owner's lovely and abundant garden, which attracts hummingbirds by the handful. We really enjoyed interacting with them & they were clearly curious about us too. The studio itself is as advertised-- clean, comfortable, and containing everything you need for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend for two people or a solo traveler.
