Deanna was extremely communicative with us during our stay and leading up to it! Very easy check in and check out process. The location couldn’t have been in more ideal, literally minutes to all shops and delicious restaurants (Crackheads is a must). Additionally hands down one of the best showers!

The Hideaway is a cute, cosy little cottage tucked away in a corner of a residential area close to the Village center. I spent two months here without a car and though it would have been easier to have one, it was perfectly managable without. Beach, grocery store, library, Senior Center, train station, and town are all within a mile of the place. Hosts, Deanna and Craig are friendly and accomodating. Cottage and grounds are very clean and pretty much everything you need for daily living is supplied. I only wish i could have stayed longer!

Carlsbad is a fun town. This property is a short walk to town and beach (which is beautiful). We had a fun time and would certainly make a return visit. Deanna organized everything for us and we enjoyed our time here.

Cute Cottage for solo or couple
Lovely small cottage with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The large cottage was a bit closer than expected, but each had it's own outside area with chairs, table and bbq. The owners were very responsive to questions and any problems that came up and it was so very nice to have a shared washer and dryer, bicycles and beach equipment for our use. The Village of Carlsbad and it's boardwalk and beach were a 20+ minute walk, but with the bikes it only took 10-12 minutes. I highly recommend this cottage.

Comfortable and Great Location
I stayed for three nights at this compact but comfortable and well equipped cottage. It was easy walking distance to the beach and shops. Deanna was very helpful when I had a small technology challenge (the TV is smarter than I am). I would definitely stay here again.

COVID-19 Safe Visit
We loved the cosy inside living area, where we could cook and watch a show on Netflex, talk and work, read, but the best space was the patio with comfortable chairs, convenient tables and a small gas barbecue. Here we were able to entertain our family members we haven't been able to see because the layout makes it easy to eat and drink together while still having distance. Plus, it's pretty--all the passion fruit vines, magnolias just outside the gate. The Hideaway is also just a 5 minute walk to the lively State St., where there's plenty to eat and drink too, and many shopping opportunities. The beach is just a 7 minute walk from there. Perfect all around, COVID or not.

Perfect location in Carlsbad
The HideAway is so convenient to everything in Carlsbad - short walk to the beach, restaurants and train station. We took the train from San Diego and didn't miss having a car as it was so easy to walk everywhere. The cottage had everything we needed. Deanna was easy to deal with and very responsive to any questions.

Great cozy location within Carlsbad Village
We stayed for two weeks to escape the heat from Las Vegas. The coastal property is well maintained and off street parking was included. Enjoyed the ocean breeze in the lovely courtyard. Walking distance to great restaurants, stores and beach. We definitely will be returning.

Carlsbad Hideaway
The Hideaway was exactly what we wanted. A perfect place for a delightful week in Carlsbad Village, walking distance to the beach, shopping and restaurants. We were enchanted the moment we arrived by the beautifully landscaped property, the private courtyard, and the well appointed furnishings and fine art. Location was good. Walking distance to many restaurants, train station.
The location was convenient for walking to restaurants and the train station. The cleanliness of the unit was very disappointing. The housekeeping staff overlooked some very important items..the dresser drawers had pajamas and ladies underwear left behind and the drawers were dirty with sand. We threw those items away. The next thing ..preparing morning coffee and the first 2 coffee cups were dirty. I'm not only talking about stained cups but the appearance of cups just rinsed and not washed with soap and water, the drinking glasses were the same. The cereal bowls had crusted guacamole and other food particles. The oven was also dirty. Dinner plates had grease on them. So I washed the cereal bowls, all the utensils and a dinner plate..and then decided no more. We're on vacation and should not have to clean up behind the previous guests. I contacted the owner, she was quite apologetic but no offer to send a cleaning crew.

Charming Carlsbad Cottage
My wife and I recently vacationed at this charming cottage in Carlsbad. Deanna and her family were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to ensure our comfort. We brought our kayaks and beach cruisers and were able to secure them along with Deanna's great variety of beach toys. Excellent restaurants were within walking / biking distance as was the beautiful Pacific Ocean. We kayaked off Carlsbad beach, La Jolla Caves and a nearby lagoon. We already miss this cottage and can't wait to return.

We really enjoyed returning to this lovely little cottage. It has everything you need to stay for a few days or a few weeks. We love the private patio and all it has to offer. The new Owners Deanna and Craig are so warm and welcoming. They are very responsive to any questions or concerns you may have before and during your stay here. This cottage is within walking distance to Carlsbad Village which offers lots of shopping and restaurants. We discovered a great little deli within walking distance called Pronto's. You can eat in or take out. So many choices with a great variety of options.
We look forward to returning in the future.

The Hideaway Cottage was the perfect get-away for our anniversary celebration. The easy walk to the heart of Carlsbad made out enjoyment of the town so easy. The cottage is well appointed with every need met and the courtyard is delightful - I only wish the weather had cooperated so we could have enjoyed the evenings outside more. This is definitely a place we'd like to come back to!
