When we arrived and walked through with the owner on Monday it was very clean, I was impressed. But, on Wednesday night I noticed a dead bug on the floor, I tried to google image it because I feared it was a cockroach, but it was small and wouldn't show results. On Friday night, we were sitting in the living area and it was dim light. Under the tv console an adult cockroach scurried across the floor, which my husband promptly squashed. I took pictures of it as well as 2 medium cockroaches under the master bed dead and 5 other small cockroaches dead. I have pictures if you want to see them. My kids were already asleep and we were checking out in the morning so we begrudgingly stayed. My husband called the owner after we checked out and asked if there was an issue before and to let him know there was a problem. He also asked if there was anything that could be done. The answer was no. He did say that the cleaners sprayed for cockroaches before we arrived. Why do you spray if you don't have a problem? 4 days after leaving I received a damage charge that there were 4 missing hand towels, a pillow and pillowcase. Along with 4 dirty washclothes that wouldn't come clean(I have kids at a beach, I'll accept that chance and will pay for them). However, the other items were not taken. And I actually threw my fav pillow/pillowcase I brought into their trash bin because I was so grossed out by the cockroaches. No refund. Beware!

The location was perfect for the golf courses we played. Quiet yet close to everything.

This is the second time staying at rose cottage. Lee is a great host and willing to help make your stay the best ever. Looking forward to staying there again.

Rose Cottage was perfect for us. Spotless, both inside and out, with every accommodation necessary to enjoy a relaxing few days in the area. Close to everything we needed, including the Beach and Pawleys Creek. Would definitely recommend this home away from home to others staying in the area.

Owner was waiting for us when we arrived to give us the keys and a quick overview of the property. House was clean and comfortable. Property was large and private. Nice back yard. Really like the gated entry and perimeter fencing. One mile drive to beach. We were concerned about public parking at the beach, but it was no problem on a Wed and Thurs in early June. Property has an outdoor shower for washing off sand before going inside. Full size washer and dryer definitely came in handy. Large gas grill that we used to grill burgers one night. Owner's wife called during our stay to check on us. Very nice folks. Very nice place. Definitely recommend this location!

This house is located in a very private setting, considering there is a commercial property next door. The gated entrance and long driveway give a sense of security and privacy. The owner greeted us upon arrival to ensure we knew where everything was located, and actually phoned to check in on us during our stay - nice touch. The house was very clean - our favorite spot was on the rocking chairs on the screened in front porch. Linens and towels were plentiful and dishes and utensils available. The yard is huge, and the back deck gave us another opportunity for outdoor dining. The house is just minutes off Ocean Highway.. I have to admit, the floors in the 2 guest bedrooms are a bit wonky, but I think that is due to the construction of the house. - not sure anything can be done about that. In all a lovely stay with lovely hosts!!!
