Close to where we needed to be, and ready to reach by car. Friendly staff, neat and clean room.

Heating/AC had issues, the room was too warm and the only way to regulate the temperature read to open the window.

The restaurant was top-notch. Breakfast was amazing. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Room was large, clean and comfortable!

Bathroom was a bit dated, but fully functional! The restaurant staff was unexperienced, slow in service, they did not come to our table very often. We ate dinner in the restaurant twice and twice we had this service. The double bed had single sheets which my partner and I did not like.

Excellent hotel, provided transport to the Corpus conference centre. No 43 bus brings you directly to the lovely charming town of Leiden. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Room very comfortable, really spacious,well equipped. Dinner lovely,staff very attentive. Couldn't fault. Would use again. Would recommend.

I woke up early in the morning to the sound of doors being opened and closed by guests. So, sounds could be heard brightly from the hallway in my room.

All went extremely well. Receptionist on arrival not very helpful but next day young lady was superb advising us on bus travel and where to make for in city. Breakfast was excellent and dinner very good. Waiting staff very attentive and helpful. Riverside location above expectations. All in all a big Thank You.

The hotel is tired and definitely needs refurbishing. For the Money it is expensive ,I have stayed in many places a lot nicer and more up to date than this hotel. for less money.The shower was old and the cubicle very small and old. The glass doors were dirty, sorry I have a thing about windows and doors, especially doors ,it tells you a lot about a place. They were not cleaned both days and was very visible. This hotel is not central to Leiden and was advised not to walk to the city as it is alongg the motorway all the way. I do not write reviews but was very disappointed with this hotel for the money they charged.

Shower , bath and mirrors were dirty. No shower gel in the Suite which is standard. No smart TV at the room. Very old TV. Cheap plastic cups instead of glass. I think if it is a suite standard must be higher. Air condition did not work well. Restaurant has very low quality of the food and it is too expenisive. Breakfast also very poor. Would not come back again.

The location

The electric car charging station was not working, the room was on a noisy roundabout, the coffee machine was out of order - capsules not falling correctly in the machine, the coffee machine had not been cleaned (when I passed some clear water to wash it, it came out dark (coffee). Whatsmore, I didn't get the reason for having 7 bottles of shampoo on the bathroom counter - this signified to me that little attention was given to room cleaning/clearing. My conclusion, it was not worth the money they asked. I am used to far better from Van der Valk - particularly for this price. Lastly, in the off chance Booking reads these comments, please double check the claim of electric vehicle charging station before simply accepting and listing it. A wall socket or indeed a single charging station (no room for more than 1 car) should have some sort of clear "warning" - I now count of being able to charge at the property, if this is in the description!

Beds were not made during out two night stay. if this was because of COVID then they should communicate this. Small shower. no USB outlets.
