Lovely, magical place. Put together with such obvious care, taste and skill. Everywhere you turned, was like a well composed photograph. Our host, Christian Ponchet was welcoming, and made sure we were comfortable in every way.

I liked everything no need to change anything. Perfect is perfect. The owner Christian is superb and charming so so helpful and relaxed. This is the best place to stay in the Dordoyne by far.
Leaving but we will be back

The manoir provided us with everything we expected and more.
Christian was extremely helpful
Breakfast was taken on the terrace and was extremely good
We had a slight issue with the comfort of the pillows

This is a tasteful and elegant property which is looked after with a passion by host Christian, who went above and beyond what we expected in all our dealings with him. Christian was incredibly helpful with restaurant suggestions, and his breakfasts were most enjoyable (especially the one with his tarte aux pommes). The location is beautiful and peaceful (a car is essential). Le Manoir du Rocher is a stunning place which we didn’t want to leave.

stunning property, beautifully furnished. The room was enormous and filled with interesting pieces of furniture. The bathroom was large and also lovely with wooden beams, claw foot bath, separate shower, wood floor and large sink unit also in wood. The views from the room were enchanting. Christian was warm and welcoming and booked us in for dinner at a local restaurant very close by. I would have liked longer to relax by the pool in the lovely grounds
it was a bit challenging to find. our satnav took us to a camping site. we had to resort to GMAPS which found it ok.

We liked everything! Our room was fantastic, large, comfortable, quiet, with nice views. Breakfast was delicious.
Most of all we liked the hospitality. Our host made us feel most welcome, we came as strangers, left as friends!
Nothing!

Very small and cozy, just 4 rooms. Huge living room/library.
Amazing place, lush garden with pool. Nice view of the Dordogne river and banks.
Tastefully decorated, brilliantly restored old place (XVIII century, looks like new)
Owner is pleasant and chatty.
Excellent breakfast. On a good day can be taken outside with a view.
It has a swimming pool, very refreshing in Summer time.
- Location: literally a long and winding road to get there. It’s in the middle of a forest/former hunting grounds. Even though it’s nominally in Domme, the actual town of Domme is about 15 min drive away. The nearest restaurant is about a 30 min walk in the woods.
- Rooms: there are 4 rooms. The two in the second floor of the main building seem bigger and much better. We stayed in ones in the attic (nice but smallish) and in the former barn (OK). Ask for the main building.
- Rules: there are some idiosyncratic rules. For instance, one is asked to wipe the wooden bathroom washbasin (prevent marks), or no food allowed in the rooms (supposedly because of risk of attracting small animals). Not a major problem, though.
- Connectivity: limited. WiFi only in parts of the main building, and patchy mobile data.

This B&B is just absolutely perfect. It’s beautiful in every way, so very comfortable. Christian’s taste is decoration is so refined. It’s very clean and well taken care of. The breakfast is very good and the pool is large and fresh. So peaceful and quiet…. We will definitely come back!

We were in separate building without any access to wifi. There is no any basic soap (liquid or hard). In the room was not allowed to drink anything even tea.

Breakfast was in a lovely light dining room and was exactly what we wanted, including a specially baked cake.
Wonderful pool in a woodland setting. Peace and quiet with river view.
Nothing really .

Our Host was exceptional as was the view of the Dordogne river from our window
A few too many steps for us oldies but we will not let it put us off from staying again ,maybe ask for the floor below which had steps but not quite as many .lol

Delicious breakfast with fresh products (bread, croissant, eggs & bacon, fruits, juice, splendid jams)
The house is a marvel, the rooms are exquisitely furnished, with a lot of taste. It has the sophistication of a Parisian flat within the coziest of settings.
The garden, the view and the swimming pool are delightful.
Many little gems to visit around the property (at no more than 20' drive).
Christian is a wonderful host.
