From the moment we walked through the door we knew we were in for an incredible stay. The care and attention to detail is out of this world… the staff are so beautiful and fun loving. Our breakfasts by the pool were a highlight as were the late night drinks on the balcony. The ocean was warm and the beds were so comfortable. It is a home away from home. Thank you Reid’s… and special thanks to John the concierge for arranging so many wonderful itineraries!!!

the staff, the access to the sea, the salt water pool, the breakfast, the room, the bed and pillows, the view, the bar,THE SERVICE is just beyond. i didn't visit the island as much as i had planned cause i couldnt leave de hotel.

absolutely nothing

spacious, lots of dining options, excellent pools and gardens, lots of excellent secluded areas to sit or sun lounge. Especially liked the seawater tidal pool area.

lack of three pin plugs by the bedside. there being only 1 armchair in our room, meant one of us had to sit on the bed or on desk chair.

Noise from Saturday private party after 11 pm. Beds could be more comfy.

We were slightly disappointed that there was no BBC world service channel on the TV particularly as so many of the guests are British.

Fabulous location, fabulous views, old genuine style. Fantastic gardens surrounding the hotel, great breakfast buffet and the possibility to enjoy a refreshing swim in the sea off the cliffs after a morning jog.

we went to Reid’s for our anniversary. This was our fifth visit and it has always been excellent. The hotel is beautiful the staff are friendly and so helpful The food is excellent. you couldn’t ask for better all round.

From the moment we arrived when the valet parked our car and the sweets that were given to us for our children as we left, my wife and I were blown away by the people that made our stay so special at Reid’s Palace. The hotel is incredible steeped in history in a beautiful setting. The photos don’t do it justice! The hotel is stunning itself however for us the service was impeccable. They go out their way to provide you with the best holiday in a professional but friendly way. We loved every minute of our stay and already booking or next trip. Madeira is an amazing island and worth a visit!

Truly beautiful hotel in an exceptional setting. We particularly enjoyed the views and the unusual, slightly retro Sea baths. Excellent breakfast buffet. Restaurant staff, pool, housekeeping and bar personnel are just outstanding, always with a wonderful smile!

Front of house was a little patchy, also the New Years Eve dinner was frankly overpriced and some of the rooms were very noisy during the night (thumping bass kind of noisy). The Eve of the Eve dinner however was truly delightful.
