I booked and paid for 2 suites 6 months in advance but when I went to check in I was told only one was available and the hotel was fully booked. The hotel still expected me to pay the price of a 2nd suite despite being given a much smaller and less equipped family room with a view of the dirty roof top. When I asked how much discount I would be given for having to accept a lesser room, the receptionist Fleur offered the equivalent of £6, I advised that would not be enough as the difference in rooms was far greater. Very early the next morning I received a message from booking.com saying that the hotel had advised them that they could no longer accommodate me and offered an alternative place to stay splitting me and my mother up. I got dressed quickly and went down to the reception where I spoke to a different woman who assured me I wasn't being evicted from the hotel and offered the equivalent of £10 off per night. This was all causing me much stress and anxiety and ruining my holiday. I just wanted to go home at this point, and as the money off was still not sufficient, I said I'd discuss at check out. I was made to feel like a nuisance and that I was not welcome or wanted at the hotel and this experience cast a shadow over what was meant to be a very important and special trip. The hotel was recommended by local business owners whom I've now had to share my experience with. I am hugely disappointed with the hotel and the service and will not be returning or recommending.
