Beautiful hotel, lovely breakfast and amazing on site facilities.

It was a shame the pool and changing rooms were filthy and not kept on top of.

Room was large enough for the three of us and was very clean with good housekeeping. Breakfast was good, but seen wider range at other hotels, had a little mix up with kippers order on second night. Dinner was good, but had better else where, with wider choice. The selection of activities was good, but reception were not aware of height restriction on the Vertigo course, but were aware of age restriction. Age and height restriction are not aligned as there are not many 6 year olds that are over 1.3m. The activity team were able to sort alternatives and were very helpful.

Overall a good experience that has room for improvement. The mini golf was not available.

The property is in a beautiful location, very spacious hotel and the rooms really big, well furnished and the staff really friendly.Second time of staying will be back. Spa facilities really nice. Lovely birthday treat for my daughter.

The spa we were not granted access to.

Carden uses its new £10m spa building to secure stays at its more dated hotel which has some basic leisure facilities. We booked Carden Park Hotel and Spa for a weekend spa stay and from arrival where we watched a staff member casually driving by in an empty golf cart leaving us to struggle across the car park with our bags, the stay was a huge disappointment. Prior to our visit we spoke to a off-site reservations to enquire about the cost and availability of massages (at an extra cost which is understandable) and during that conversation we were told that the spa was free to hotel guests. With this knowledge we booked our hotel, and on checking in at 4.30pm on Friday, were told the spa was closing at 5pm and that if we wanted to book it for the following morning (until 1pm) it would be an additional £200. Obviously having been seduced by the marketing and photography of Carden’s new spa, to then be told we couldn’t enjoy what we’d seen without paying what amounted to the cost of our stay again, we were not happy. My girlfriend was hugely disappointed and I calmly spoke to reception about the matter and you could tell that they had heard this same story from guests before with one staff member telling me in confidence that they themselves blamed it on the reservations team. During our stay we even overheard other guests staying at the hotel expressing their same disappointment having experienced exactly the same as ourselves, they booked the hotel to use the spa and were then told they couldn’t, they could only use the more dated leisure facilities. Beyond not being granted access to the spa, the reason for our visit, we did venture to dinner. We had a dinner reservation which we were 20 minutes late for on a Saturday evening because we enjoyed one solitary drink at the bar, which we didn’t finish and had to carry into the restaurant ourselves. On arrival at the in-house Redmonds restaurant the girl at the desk delightedly told us we couldn’t dine with them.

1st class Platinum service!!!l Greeted with smiles from Alex and Elisha at Reception. Highly professional. Service with a smile., Housekeeping & the Cinema guy were brilliant!James in the gym & his colleagues were outstanding in ensuring all guests had assistance & use of leisure centre.
