Loved the history, the location behind the old railway, and the little park in front. Also, the bathrooms were updated, and there were plenty of USB outlets.

Bath tub had soap scum; the price of 25 BP per person for breakfast as advertised on booking.com is ridiculous.

Very large room with access to Garden. Comfortable. Outstanding location in a beautiful village. Quirky design (organic over years, I’d guess) adds to charm.

Advise in advance to use upper carpark if staying in the upper rooms (for baggage)

The hotel is ok, probably a bit dated but reasonably nice, just not quite up to the price paid. Parking is a bit tight and limited and no EV charging capability on site and only a 7kwh (in spite of being advertised as 20kwh) within walking distance or even reasonable driving distance.

Hotel rooms are quite dated and could be freshened up with painted walls and doors that you see the different ways brush has been used on the inside bedroom door. Food in the dining room was excellent we only planned to have our evening meal on the first night of our stay but it was so good we went back on our 2nd night of stay. The waitresses were very polite,friendly and had a always had a lovely smile

Distance from the garden rooms where we were staying to dining room. No lift in the property and as I have a disability my husband had to park at the back of the property beside our room and use the car to get me to front of the hotel and park there so I could go into the dining room.

the room was spacious with a big bed. we had a garden room with a terrace which overlooked the garden.

when we arrived we had an issue about the payment, which took several day’s to resolve. we went to our room & discovered a decorator outside on our terrace, painting the banister & railings. which was quite a shock. it was 5.00pm & he was finishing for the day. when we complained we were told the paint would be dry within 45 minutes & they would ask the decorator not to return to our terrace, during our stay. which was ok, but it meant the painting was unfinished & really should have been completed prior to our arrival or after our visit. there were numerous things in our room/bathroom & throughout the hotel which needed updating/replacing or refurbishing

The location for walking is excellent. The room was big and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is spacious with comfy seating areas. It was made very warm and cozy with the real fires

The hot water in the bathroom could have been a little hotter.

Dog friendly throughout, even in the restaurant- a big plus for us! Dinner & breakfast very good, staff were friendly and accommodating- even though so busy they remained smiling. A beautiful location…perfect for walking and outdoor pursuits.

the heating had issues but staff set up small heaters everywhere so when things break they have good contingency plans

The water pressure in the shower was extremely low and hot water never came up. The room and corridor were freezing - the central heating wasn't working properly.

Room was very small and the bed was pushed all the way up to the back corner. (Not really a two person room) The walls were very thin, can hear other customer’s conversations.

Breakfast was very good, the porridge was excellent.
