Location of Hotel is center of　Sasso Barisano so we felt atmospheres of Sassi enough.

We made booking 2 twin rooms 6 month before bet our 2 rooms were queen and sofabed .

Great location with a semi private terrace with one of the best views of Matera

It was a bit difficult to find the hotel. Not sure we had options to order aperitivo at the hotel, which would have been fantastic.

View View and View, I liked the breakfast very much, the location was surely very good but you need some to pick up if you carrying your suitcase with you.

amazing location, couldn’t ask for a better views of the historic city and the valley! the room was dark but all cave houses are so don’t be surprise as the official photos don’t show it. our bed was half broken but that can happen too, other then that, the price was good for such a beautiful location so I don’t complain

lovely rooms in the heart of Matera; the staff were kind and helpful; the breakfast quite substantial. very accommodating staff.

Breakfast was terrific and the location was absolutely perfect.

I thought tge rooms could have a bit more decor. But it was excellent value for money.

we had a room different from the rooms we saw on the pictures, the bed was not comfortable at all, we ordered a duble bed room and it was like they put two singles together

Location and unique experience. Large room. Nice breakfast buffet, you can sit outside overlooking the sassi.

Lots of mold in the room, even though this is understandable. Nevertheless it was not clean. There was a loud ventilation which prevented us from sleeping and could notbe turned off (next day we were told we should have called reception, but we had tried and there was no phone number...).

Hoel Sassi's has a simply magnificent view over-looking Matera. It's a wonderfully atmospheric place and you can sit outside in the evening watching life go by for hours if you wish. The rooms are quaint and rustic and the beds perfectly comfortable. I really enjoyed the magnificent breakfast served in the morning with a wide array of local Puglian products. Perfect for your stay in Matera!

There really wasn't anything I didn't like about this place. Apart from it's great location the staff are also extremely friendly.

Felt a but shabby chic but you are staying in a cave so I guess that is part of the charm. Need new signage when approaching for the top.

Location in the sassi of Matera was nice. great view from our balcony.

The room was very small, bathroom was old and not clean, and worse off all, the air conditioning did not cool the room. The rom did not match the pictures on Booking.

Great location. Easy to get to restaurants and to see many sights. Free breakfast was ok.

Room air conditioner was not working properly so room temperature was 80 degrees both days/nights. There was mold in the bathroom and the door to the shower did not shut properly so the floor became full of water when we showered. Front desk person was helpful but not very cheerful.

the view is fantastic in the day and at night. it is in a central location close to many restaurants. air con was good and little fridge which we needed as so hot when we were there in July. they have a bar but don’t think it’s working to full capacity but we were able to get some drinks.

wifi ok, bad in some areas but understandable seeing area.
