To access the hotel you have to get on a little boat which is quite fun / different. The staff were very friendly too.
It was very dated and the jacuzzi was broken. The curtains in our room didn’t close fully so we couldn’t shut out the light and our bathroom door wouldn’t close properly either. The hotel generally needs a bit of sprucing up.

Breakfast/Dinner:
The breakfast spread was outstanding! Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious buffet with a wide range of options, including fresh tropical fruits, pastries, and local Fijian dishes. The chefs were accommodating with dietary preferences. Dinner at the resort was an incredible experience. They offered with a variety of theme cuisines each day. The staff were attentive, and the ambiance made each meal special.
Room:
Our room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with a fantastic view of the ocean. The bed was very comfortable, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches like fresh flowers. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including fast Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, and a cozy seating area on the balcony for sunset views.
Staff:
The staff in food, beverages, and at the bar were excellent. Special thanks to Sushmita, Anuska and the guys at the bar for their warm hospitality during breakfasts.
Pool and Spa:
The pool at the resort was an absolute highlight of our stay. Spacious and beautifully designed, it offered stunning views of the surrounding ocean and coconut trees. There was a dedicated shallow area for kids, which made it family-friendly, while adults enjoyed the infinity edge and swim-up bar. The water was always at a perfect temperature, and poolside service made it easy to relax with refreshing drinks and snacks. It’s the perfect place to unwind and soak up the Fijian sunshine with a great massage !
Breakfast/Dinner:
There were areas in the dining space with water leaking from the ceiling, which was concerning and posed a bit of a slip hazard, especially for kids. Additionally, no complimentary water was provided at dinner, making it feel like there was an opportunity for upselling.
Resort Cart Service:
The resort grounds are quite large, but only a few carts were available for getting around. At times, calling for a cart took up to 20 minutes, which was inconvenient.
Bathroom:
The shower door hinges were loose, causing water to leak into the area near the toilet, leaving it wet after each use. This could be easily addressed with some minor maintenance.
Front Desk:
The front desk staff lacked responsiveness and didn’t display the most polite or helpful behaviour (As expected). Despite having breakfast and dinner included in our booking, we had to remind the staff each day about our dinner inclusion. While checking in we were told our package covered only the buffet, but upon checkout, they clarified that we could have chosen either a two-course à la carte meal or the buffet.

Aaaaww the place was perfect , the holiday was amazing , the staff were helpful. Very friendly staff like Asinate, Toks, Tevita, Pauliata, Jones, Samantha, Sushmita. Stayed there for a week and all these guys were super helpful.
The surcharge on paying by card n you can’t pay by cash so u r simply tied on how you can pay.

staff were friendly and welcoming.
not having a/c in my room for 2 of my 4 nights and had to ask to be moved.

Staff were so friendly and helpful, they create a great atmosphere!! Fijian hospitality and warmness is just fantastic. Comfortable rooms, great view of the ocean, and easy to get around the resort. Food was also delicious! We also had robes and slippers in our room, which is always a lovely touch.
4.5
Beautiful room, very clean and tidy. Amazing bathroom!! Great air conditioning and good WiFi.
Friendly and helpful staff, even gifting us a cake for our honeymoon. Very thoughtful!
Breakfast was fantastic! Great variety and choice with chefs on hand to make things. We had lunch and dinner, both had great options.
Pool was lovely and had some beautiful sunsets!
Location was quite isolated so hard to travel elsewhere in Fiji, so it was costly to travel to and from the location.
3.5
Great staff. Good from the beach restaurant was great! Room amazing, beautiful place.
Too many kids. The property is a bit far away from the port. They can improve the menu a la carte of the main restaurant, no much healthy options.
1.5
Staff were good
Location was difficult with no nearby options for meals. Meal quality was below par for a resort of this one’s perceived standard. Meals on average took 50 minutes to arrive after ordering. Beach needs serious attention. And would be great if cleaned. There was broken cement and rebar sticking out of the sand.
5.0
The property is beautifully maintained and provides a relaxing environment. Surrounded by nature, the atmosphere is perfect!
The kids area is very simple, the property lacks other options to entertain kids besides swimming pool. The location is also far from everything, it gets expensive to arrive and leave the hotel as they have no shuffles to Denarau (for example).

The staff are amazing. Always helpful, always happy.

The room was lovely, pool, bar, restaurants and staff were excellent.
Whilst the room is lovely, each Bure has two rooms side by side. As a couple on a romantic holiday, we were next to a family of 4 and could hear EVERYTHING. From snoring, to Disney movies and conversations. I assume the same was for them which may have been awkward. Better sound dampening between the walls would have been appreciated or consideration of placement for families.

I stayed 2 nights in your ocean view rooms. Both nights the AC did not work as it was not cooling. Response time was excellent to get It fixed but was unable to fix it as my room still did not cool. One my last night I was given a standing fan. I'm an electrical engineer i know how to operate the controls of AC . Technician only came and checked the controls. Physical inspection was not done properly. 2 days o stayed in a hot room and paid thousands of dollars to stay in a hot room. Overall sleeping rating would be 1/10.

Great view and relaxing atmosphere, shower gets very hot ! Smooth wifi, super friendly staffs, great welcome service
Food serving took one hour, spa was shorter time than what we booked bc they came late. Both surprised us but could just be a culture gap

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The sunset every evening was spectacular. The pool area was nice and the grounds of the resort were kept well by the staff.
The food was a major let down. The buffet dinner cost 89$ and it was like something you would see at a child’s 5th birthday party, cold goujons/ burgers and chips. The first day we arrived they told us the restaurant was fully booked and the only option for a meal was through through room service in which we waited over an hour for 2 spaghetti bolognaise. It’s very far to travel to somewhere different for food then also.

The personalised service by name and the family based culture as they treat you like family, food was great, cocktails were even better 🤤 the facilities were great I am glad we upgraded from a small $1k resort to stay here, worth every dollar.
The slightly hard bed and pillows that deflate flat once it's been more than 10 mins.

Kind staff and beautiful pool
Average food and awful sea

From the day we arrived until we left the staff, the food and service were great. I would definitely recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton Fiji to friends and family for holiday accommodation.
There was nothing I didn't like.

The overall vibe, the staff and the attitude and helpfulness of all the staff.
Rico, toksava, Apo and all the staff were fantastic!! Helpful, friendly and got to know,ya well!
An extra eating option would of been good, but all the food was yummy.

Everything you needed was in the room
Rooms a bit far from the main areas

Resort is good overall
Expensive food, facilities. They have a tour desk called Rosie tours, they are literally bad, waste of money. Just dont trust what they say. book a taxi and go out to find alternates. Rosie tours will rob you.

Staff were super attentive and friendly. We felt very welcomed into the resort and taken care of.
The pool had a swim up bar which was great. Lots of restaurants to pick from. Sunset views were out of this world!
Food took an hour regardless of how it was ordered. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner and also ordered room service which all took an hour to arrive. Also were not informed of the $7 FJD tray charge for room service. Air con was also a bit loud
Location is a bit out of town so not cheap to get to town
3.5
The surrounds are beautiful. We were fortunate enough to have a room right by everything. We got to listen to live music on our room balcony.
Very far from everything. No swimming beach but knew this before we booked. And dinners were very expensive. Also staff were way too pushy to get you to order the FJD12 water every night for dinner.
2.0
I liked the views and how relaxing it was to stay at doubletree. I like the swim up bar which was different. There were staff that were super nice and helpful. I don’t blame them, just management could be better.
I didn’t like the food. It was expensive and the quality wasn’t good, not worth it $$. Some of my food came cold or burnt. Some items they would forget.
I also didn’t like how they handled the mouse in my room situation I had. I paid close to $3k to stay here, and there was a mouse in my room around 12am and it would crawl across the counter, there was also mouse droppings around our luggage. I even have it on video running across. Super inconvenient we had moved rooms at 3am, packed all our things under an hour and doing all of this with a baby as well not impressed.
The staff didn’t know what to do, at first they said they couldn’t do anything about it till I said well can you remove the mouse in the room, I cannot sleep if there’s something running around. They didn’t want to do that so they rearranged another room and made some calls that a room became available.
The next day I went to reception and asked if we could be compensated for the inconvenience of moving rooms at 3am and having a mouse problem. Mind you this is a 4 star resort?! It’s quite shocking to see and hear something moving among your things. The receptionist replied “what do you want me to do” … again seriously?! we wanted some sort of refund even if it was for one night which they could not do. At first she said complementary drinks at dinner but you still have to book and pay for dinner. I said no. Then the next offer was 25% off room charges when we check out. I guess that was better than nothing but honestly super disappointed at that point I just wanted to leave. We still had 2 more nights there. By then we didn’t wanna spend anymore money on their food & just had noodles and snacks till we left.

The pool and simple central location are really nice. The bure was a great space with two king beds. Very clean and modern.
Bit small for more than a 2-3 night stay with kids (3 yo, 5 yo). The food was all OK-Good but somewhat bland.

The staff! Beautiful people. Lovely Kesa helping us with bookings made us smile, Sera greeting us for breakfast each morning was so welcoming. Dass was fab taking us for our sunset horse ride, and lovely Ruci leaving messages with leaves on our beds each day, making our day. Honestly the friendliness and kindness of the staff made the stay beautiful.

We loved the activities on the island, everyone was friendly, the food was delicious!!
Just a lack of entertainment.

We had the most amazing stay at Sonaisali Island. Our room was always clean and comfortable, air conditioning worked well. The cleaning staff left us a little box of scones on our last night which were delicious. The staff at the property were so helpful and friendly. The food was always delicious and reasonably priced ($25 AUD for a delicious burger and chips). So many activities to do on the island every day. Perfect place to stay if you are looking for a relaxing holiday. A big special thank you to Sala, Aporossa, Sevenaia and Vara for always having the time to stop and chat to us, nothing was ever a bother for them. This was the second time we have stayed at Sonaisali and will always book here when we come to Fiji. VINAKA!!
The only downside of the property (being very picky) is that the beach is not a swimming beach. It is a little expensive to get into town so make sure you think about this before you book. There was also no microwave in the room. These things did not worry us at all.
3.0
The property was clean. Pool was very clean.
We requested toilet paper multiple times but were not given any. We had to chase a service staff who was cleaning another room to get a toilet paper.
Buffet dinner finished at 8pm and was not refilled.

The staff were lovely. Treated us like royalty
The condition of the rooms was average at best looks like next to no up keep has be done to the property since first construction.

Property beautiful the island is beautiful staff people are really nice
Construction site near the island, no beach to swim, food expensive
4.0
The site, amenities and location albeit you needed a boat to get to it which wasn’t mentioned.
Staff were very friendly.
Good quality was average, particularly the dinners. Outside baymaries were covered in small
Insects making the food inedible. For the price its was poor.
Breakfasts were good.
Room was nice although our door often stuck and was hard to open. (Bungalow 35).
Extra deposits and credit card charges were not clearly stipulated in the ad which added additional an expense that wasn’t returned for over a week.
2.5
Fabulous sea views from our room
Wonderfully friendly staff
Great pool
AC was so poor and it was so hot in our room that we just couldn’t sleep properly
Food options very limited. After 5 either the full on buffet or a full a la carte in the other restaurant. No light meals like burgers pizzas or salads in either restaurant after 5pm which seems odd
Isolated with no where to go for a walk
