The location was perfect! Everything was within walking distance but you were far away enough to avoid the touristy streets which were packed at night. The staff were so accommodating and kind and made sure we had everything we needed and asked for. The rooftop was great for a nice happy hour spot!

The fan in our bathroom was incredibly loud. Some staff members were unfriendly and seemed to hate tourists or as if they were forced to work. Not a 5 star hotel staff. Our window overlooked the hallway and we were unlucky because other quests living next to us and opposite us were loud and inconsiderate. They even hanged out in their room with open door and one person was sitting under our window and chatting on the phone… The hotel tied to assist, and it’s not their fault. However be mindful that the walls are thin and you can hear a lot.

Amazing hotel and amazing staff headed up by Jorge, the manager, who went above and beyond to give us a wonderful experience. We loved staying here! It was an oasis of calm with beautiful interiors in the bedroom and communal areas that all contributed to such a wonderful and peaceful stay. We want to come back again and would not hesitate in recommending Casa la Merced by Mustique as your preferred stay in the historic walled city of Cartagena.

From the moment we walked in the door we experienced the best service ever! Our room was amazing with the most beautiful view, and the staff was so kind and accommodating! They definitely went above and beyond! I have stayed in beautiful hotels all over the world, and this may have been one of my very favorites! I would highly highly recommend this hotel!!!

Bed is very comfortable, Netflix etc available. Wifi works well. The food is better than any restaurants around Cartagena (albeit the level isn't that high). The place is very quiet and relaxing.

They have a rule where when you go alone you can't have guests staying with you (to deter prostitutes - which I completely understand). A little tough if you get lucky, or if you decide to get someone to stay with you. You should definitely speak to them about this first.

There wasn't minibar as advertised Noise covering furniture and cleaning the jacuzzi between 3:00 to 5:30 a.m.
