We enjoyed the location, white sandy beach great view from our room. The fia fia night was so lovely, experience of making a umu was fun & eating it was a highlight. The staff were amazing and hard working! I think they are the glue that is keeping coconut beach club resort and spa going! Beach equipment that was made available for the kids to use was good. Location paradise for sure!!!
The day we arrived it was pouring. Our fale was leaking I had to use our beach towels for the floor! When we got into bed we found sand in between the sheets. The main pool needed cleaning it was full of sand. The complementary breakfast was confusing as well. The photos makes this resort look amazing but don't be fooled! It is way over priced for what we expected when we got there. This resort is in need of some good TLC

The beauty spa is the best facility there, and the Fia Fia night was a great performance. The Samoan staff are beautiful. Food purchased there was great.
Biggest disappointment I’ve ever had in 49 years! . Incredibly overpriced. The rooms are very dated and in need of makeovers. The roof was leaking. There were big spiders inside. I thought it was sand covering every surface including the bed - which it probably was as well, - but on the last day I discovered it was piles of bora wood. The shower was like a bad waterfall. There were sticky flies everywhere and nothing helpful to combat them. The complimentary breakfast was incredibly stingy! Parts of the ceiling were a very stained and dirty plastic. The complimentary tea and coffee is not at all appealing. The worst bit was the beds. On the single bed there was blood on the mattress protector and the main bed was made up with a dirty old mattress and an even dirtier old crumbly foam. I can’t believe Brian gets away with operating this and charging so much. He doesn’t trust his staff which is obvious but they are one of his only assets. He doesn’t provide them with a uniform either. We asked them why they were all wearing different clothing. They said they constantly get feedback about how poorly run it is and so overpriced but nothing ever happens. This is a case of a money hungry American ruining a resort with incredibly bad management.

The Beaches are very nice, with the on-site pool being also right at the beach.
Coconut Beach Resort is a 70s style resort, that requires large scale updating and proper maintenance. Cleanliness and especially the very dated decor and non human friendly design needs to be mentioned. Sharp edges, non user friendly bath tubs (slip and fall risk), difficult to use facilities.
Resort staff in civil attire hanging out in rooms, hanging out on balconies, chatting loudly, smoking, and being disrespectful to customers. I haven't seen staff working a lot - it felt like a local employment program for the villagers. The behavior of the (especially male) Resort stuff is an absolute NO NO in the tourist industry.
The owner is a constant presence and obviously living on-site, which takes away from the holiday feeling.
The Restaurant food is very average and of low quality - the Oki was chewy and not even presentable. Portion sizes are very petty and this is even for a Resort in a 3rd world country embarrassing.
The term "complimentary" gets used regularly for things like Breakfast and Wi-Fi, even though the accommodation was booked and sold with Breakfast and Wi-Fi included - this is false advertisement!!

The location was idyllic. Our room was extremely comfortable with large opening doors and picture postcard views. It had air conditioning but we didn’t need it as we threw open the doors and made the most of the sea breezes. We spent hours on the deck watching the sea turtles grazing on the lagoon floor, the waves breaking on the reef, stunning sunsets and incredibly clear, starry nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The local fresh fruit served while we waited for our breakfast, was a great way to start each day. We thoroughly enjoyed the Fia Fia night - each of the talented performers, young and old, delivered with such passion. We were entranced.
This was our first time in Samoa but, definitely, won’t be our last. We were able to relax, rest and recharge fully. We will be back to Coconuts!
We only wished we had stayed longer!

Staff were friendly and very helpful. They went out of their way to wait for us to arrive noting that our flight was delayed and we hadn’t eaten yet. Our driver was so helpful and kind. The staff were amazing and the food at the resort was excellent. Breakfast was a standard continental breakfast but if you want something extra this is possible with a fee. Location was good but will need a car to travel around or seek a tour. Fia Fia night was good too. The staff make a huge difference. Lovely local staff that made my stay enjoyable given the negatives.
Lighting in the dinner hall and accommodation is terrible. Rooms need updating. They’re fairly old and outdated. Bathrooms are really outdated with a musky smell. Owners need to throw money at the resort to update!! Housekeeping is not daily. Really disappointing that only English/non traditional music is only played when you’re in beautiful Samoa! Accounting system is manual and owner is not well versed in explaining the details to guests. I just wanted him to be quiet and go away tbh. Not sure why staff couldn’t explain this to me when I waited at least 15 mins for him to see me, owner wasn’t organised - another disappointment. Beds are very uncomfortable - a piece of foam on top of a mattress. Hopefully you’re not afraid of wildlife as you’ll have geckos in your room. Not harmful, but there was an odd black shavings on the mattress each day and we could not find the source.

If you’re annoyed by little imperfections or are out for a international corporation Hotel - you‘re in the wrong place.
If you however are looking for authentic Samoan hospitality, a hotel with an amazing history and the nicest staff imaginable, pristine beach, cool architecture, very nice dishes and a true feeling of being part of the Coconuts family business - you HAVE TO GO THERE!!!
It‘s not the cheapest options, but than again - why should it.

The staff were the best part of the stay
Having one pillow to sleep on. Paid so much money for 2 nights yet only had one pillow each in our fale

This was by far our favourite hotel to stay at in Samoa. Staff was fantastic, rooms were very rustic and gave a real island vibe.
we had a faulty aircon that sometimes worked and sometimes didn’t work, however, staff was very helpful to give us an extra fan

Great view! Awesome beach!
it’s a very quiet resort. Everything is good, but the room is not very clean when I arrived, and it is a bit over priced.

Beautiful setting - lovely food. We look forward to returning and viewing on the Water rooms after building maintenance completed.
Nothing as we are so grateful for relaxing time.

Loved every minute I spent here. Beyond stunning location, rooms very immaculate and beautiful. And the service was outstanding; all of the staff did a fantastic job. Highly recommend, and can't wait to come back!

The overwater fale was perfect! We loved everything about it! Bed was super comfy, Bathroom was lovely the views were amazing, we even had turtles most nights swimming around the fale! The staff there were lovely they made us feel very welcome and did everything they could to make our stay special especially the manager. There were lots of things to do in the resort and in the nearby area- we would love to come back here!
The only down side for us would be the variety of food at the restaurant and the prices for the food. Also the resort next door has a lot more colour plants wise which could be a nice touch to coconuts resort- other than that we can’t fault our stay!

Beautiful environment, nice interior of the room.
Terrible wifi.
