Clean and friendly hotel with lovely rooms.

Lovely property with an interesting history. Walkable to everything we wanted to see including La Sebastiana Museo de Pablo Neruda.
Lots of restaurants and cafes really close.
The room was nice with lots of natural light.
The bed and pillows were comfortable.
The fruit, eggs and bread for breakfast were a nice way to start the day.
The staff were helpful and approachable.
The only downside was not being able to control the heating in the room.

if you choose the room with balcony, a brilliant view of the city at night and when the sea fog clears!
very attentive staff and breakfast service
make sure you check what days you stay in Valparaiso as Sunday/Monday is very quiet not all restaurants open but staff gave us options.

easy to get to most attractions on foot
on route 68 a stop off or day trip to Casas del Bosque vineyard is highly recommended.
parking garage is a small garage with tight squeeze
lots of stairs but that is Valparaiso!

Hector was amazing and the location and space was lovely. A delicious breakfast each morning, with helpful hints as what to see and do in Valparison.
No air-conditioning and could have used more towels.

Excellent service from our arrival until our departure. We were met at the entrance of the hotel, and helped with our luggage, shown to our room which was delightful, and with a spectacular view. Charming hotel, welcoming and helpful staff.

the staff was amazing - the breakfast delicious and we enjoyed the patio. It was a great location to walk from In Valparaiso or take the metro to Vina Del Mar

Location is Fabulous. It is in a perfect position to see everything in Valparaiso. Breakfast is awesome too. Staff are friendly and so very helpful. I loved the balcony to take in the view and it was idea for painting.

The staff was extremely helpful, in every way possible. The hotel was very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was delicious. We were able to park our rental car in a private garage.

Somerscales is a lovely hotel in a great area of Valparaiso. The staff was very friendly and helpful and had taken all possible coronavirus precautions.

This boutique hotel is wonderful! Our stay was enhanced by another guest who is a relative (g'g'grandson) of Somerscales. Great location, great restaurants nearby, very accommodating help at front desk, especially from Hector. Loved our stay.
No hair dryer in room (didn't ask for one, in fairness). Had to ask for new roll of toilet paper (none in room)
