Insufficient facilities in the bathroom

The place was very nice. Had a amazing view of sigiriya and sunset from their view point.

It is very nice place next to Sigirya Rock. They also have a nice sunrise point next to the house. We enjoyed ours stay.

Perfect place for sunrise

The house is located a walking distance from Sigiriya rock. A few minutes walk behind the house through the garden is a rock from where you can watch really beautiful sunrise above Sigiriya a and Pidurangala. The accommodation is basic but super worth the price. The house owners are very nice and hospitable.

It was quiet at night and not far from the entrance of the Lion rock. Very nice and helpful family. The room has everything to put your stuff; it’s not the case everywhere in SL.

Avoid to do the same mistake I did; I believe that the view on the rocks was directly from the room. The room was very dark. In fact, there is a rock behind the houses and from there you can enjoy the sunrise/sunset/view. it’s good to know that before arriving in order to don’t feel surprised.

A great budget option for Sigiria. The family who run the lodge were so accommodating and welcome. We arrived late one night and hadn’t eaten but there was nowhere nearby to eat, so one of the staff members went out to collect a takeaway for us which we really appreciated. The staff were also very helpful in arranging us a taxi for our sunrise hike as we didn’t want to walk. The location is great, so peaceful and relaxing and very nearby to sigiriya and pidurangula.

The only downside was our Wi-Fi wasn’t very good and we had little signal so struggled accessing the internet. This isn’t the end of the world for us but I wouldn’t recommend to anyone working remotely etc.

This lodge is very near to Sigiriya. Less than 10 minute walk to the entrance. Also the place has its own attraction. A rock behind the property. Which has an amazing view of Sigiriya and Pidurangala. The staff is very helpful and brought us dinner when we ordered. Also we ordered tea in the morning. They also gave us an iron when we requested it. The family room we booked has its own private balcony where we gathered in the evening to play cards and have our dinner. The place is near to all the attractions near Sigiriya.

We only stayed for one night. The staff was very friendly. The view from the backyard is amazing! A great location for the view, but a little bit out of the city area. It’s good value for the money!

The owners were kind enough to go out and bring dinners for a very reasonable price, regardless our late arrival. And also it was very generous of them to turn on the generator during the power cut, just for two guests. The room was nice, clean and comfy. The lodge has a very large garden and you are free to walk around. If you climb the huge rock behind the Choona lodge before 6 am, you can have a nice view of the sun rising beside the Sigiriya rock, and Pidurangala. But the most amazing thing is you also can witness awakening of whole nature during this early hour of the day. The entire time I was there - on the rock, I had a peacock as a companion, who was also waiting for the sun. And there was a mongoose couple playing with each other. A giant sparrow, lots of monkeys and lots of different kinds of birds. It was really a WOW experience.

This is not a complaint, but a suggestion. I think it would be better if they can provide a more rich breakfast.

Beautiful location, very friendly staff. They organized a trip to the Horton's Plain and gave us many tips. Fantastic value for money. The interiors are unique, but the whole place is just one in a kind

Very friendly staff, great location within walking distance (15 mins) of Sigiriya rock, a fantastic sunrise viewpoint. Not too close to restaurants / main road but I didn’t mind this. Room was nice & clean. I borrowed a bike from the staff for free. Great value for money.

I was in an upstairs room and the shower wasn’t very powerful.

The room was simple, but for overnight it is more than enough. Good place to watch sunrise and sunset, very close to Sigiriya and Pindurangala. Very friendly stuff and very very good food !!!
