Location was excellent, top floor room was beautiful, perfect for a family

Location
It was pretty disgusting and old. Just thought I would share our experience as a heads up for other families looking for somewhere to stay. We paid 330 a night on a long weekend and I just couldn’t believe the state of the apartment.

The location was great, very close to the beach and right on the esplanade. The living room was comfortable.
Be aware that this apartment complex is like a retirement village for old people. Half the apartments have retirees staying in them, so it's full of rules, cameras, and complaining people. Not suitable for families. The apartment is tiny, rooms very small and not clean. It's a very dated building in desperate need of repair. The wardrobes barely had any space in them to put things. One was locked, and they all smelled to the point you didn't want to use them. The beds were not very comfortable, and the bedside lights were brighter than the overhead light. The bedroom with two single beds was so small that you had to move the bed to open the wardrobe. The toilet was separate for the bathroom and the pipes stank. The kitchen small, oven some cheap oven from kmart that barely worked, and the TV had to be reset and reprogrammed because it wouldn't even turn on. We could also hear the neighbours tv from our living room. The pool was tiny and literally hot (about 40 degrees), and so many cameras and rules around it that it's not comfortable to be in. The underground parking has tiny spaces unless you drive a little skoda or golf. It was super hot in there and everywhere you go in the hotel you need the key, all internal doors and even the elevator, which is only one small elevator with old and annoying elevator music inside it. The manager is creepy and shows up wherever you go. He leases out the cleaning to his wife so nothing is barely cleaned, and you also have to take out your own rubbish, not move anything, and clean all the dishes before check out. The wardrobes had blankets with visible staines on them literally shoved into the cupboard, not even folded up. You wonder if they actually clean the sheets properly. The pool was shut for half our stay with no compensation offered, and it happened as we checked in. If I had been notified of this at check-in, I would have stayed somewhere else.

room smelt like wet carpet. management poor we wanted extra days and management/online said fully booked BUT IT WAS EMPTY!!! annoyed. apartment huge and location great.

Great location close to restaurants, take away shops, pubs and the beach.
The bedroom was smallish and warm as the air-conditioning was less effective at that part of the unit.

Location and spacious
No air con in the bedrooms. Air con in living room does not reach the bedrooms and only one room had a ceiling fan. For the rate we paid I expected air conditioning throughout and not a pedestal fan.

The resort was easily accessible from 2 different streets. Security was great, although due to needing a security card for the lift and the room, I did lock myself out. The kitchen was well equipped with everything to cook meals. The air-conditioning in every room was awesome. Only 2 blocks away or a 7-10 min walk from everything you need. The staff were always friendly and helpful.
The car park height of 1.9m was an issue therefore we had to park outside and there were not enough visitor car parks. The unit was definitely in need of updating. the shower door was very hard to open. There were crazy amounts of dust and dirt under the couch cushions and the outdoor area floor was not clean.

Large apartment with a big balcony. plenty of room. Comfy beds.
Only one air conditioner in the lounge room which struggled to cool the bedrooms as it was very hot and humid when we were there. There were ceiling fans which helped a bit.

The location was good as were the Management team
The unit lacked a bit of kitchen type items including microwave dishes that had lids,

No aircon in bedrooms which made for very uncomfortable sleeping on hot nights. Not enough attention to detail. We had to keep making trips to reception to ask for things that should have been in the room but weren’t e.g. towels, dishwashing powder. There was also no basic toiletries provided (apart from soap)

We originally had a different room which was a little run down and the front door didn't close properly and the unit had personal items in it. I spoke to Bronwyn on the front desk and she was very helpful and changed us to room 55 which was immaculate.

The flat was big, nicely furnished. The bed was comfortable but the pillows. were horrible. A variety would have been nice, or softer pillows. Could have used more towels and some sort of way to prepare coffee. The balcony was dirty.

Clean, tidy apartment. Had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. The pool, spa and sauna is lovely.

it’s location
despite the noise policy, the doors banged as occupants left their room. One person woke us around 3.30am as it seemed they were vacating their room and kept going in and out banging the door on each transit
