Remote area and the privacy of the villa. Not forgetting the beach view!!
Could’ve done with guided walk/tour of the bushwalks. High prices and small selections at the shop. Lacks entertainment

Great place to unwind and forget about everything. Second time in this paradise in 14 months due to the surroundings, accommodation and hearing the water only metres from away where you sleep. The staff are amazing and take the time to remember who you are (and what your drink 🍺 of choice is) 😊 The food was great every day.

Palm Bay Resort is an amazing place to spend a few nights relaxing. This small resort has a lovely pool area, plenty of activities such as snorkeling, SUP, kayaking, walks, tennis etc.
We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere on the island and how quiet and peaceful it was.
Our room (beachfront villa) was perfect for us. With lovely views of the beach from our deck and plenty of privacy and space. It was simple, nothing fancy. Palm Bay isn't top class luxury but it's still lovely. The grounds are well maintained, and the restaurant has a nice menu. As long as you're not expecting a big 5 star resort, you will appreciate how nice this place is.

Location and food were great
Staff were excellent
Bathroom was a bit run down

Love the location and the serenity. This is what we were looking for and I had been to the island 40 plus years ago. It is still as beautiful.
The air con in room in 18 needs replacing. it could only be turned on a full fan speed which meant we had to keep turning it off and on due to the noise. For the money we paid for the room this was sub standard

it was super relax and quiet. Bungalow ocean view just stunning and the Whitsundays are beatiful and fun. We booked all our activities on the islands trough their team. Highly recommend.

Location absolutely paradise.
Public areas closed at night so you couldn’t sit & chat to other guests after dinner you had to go back to your room as staff were switching lights off. Water taxi very expensive!!

The food was absolutely amazing, so much better than I could have possibly imagined. The chef was incredible. The cocktails were perfect. Will be back for a week. Just to lie in the hammock all day and do nothing but go and eat and drink was perfect. So relaxing.
Didn’t like that I had to leave after 4 days, could’ve stayed longer.

So well kept for an off grid property, clean and neatly maintained wherever you go (as an arachnophobe I was very relieved) with wallabies and curlews all around. The variety of land and sea activities all safe, easy to navigate and access. Our beachfront bure #2 was the perfect private escape, waking up to the sound of the tide coming in was bliss. Kate has created a fantastic culture with the team, which shows in their genuine engagement with guests and enthusiastic service - a real community. The nightly cocktails on the sunset deck are a must.
That we didn’t stay longer!

We had an exceptional stay at Palm Bay Resort in the Whitsundays. The location is genuinely extraordinary, nestled amidst picturesque landscapes, providing us with breathtaking views and peaceful surroundings. What truly amplified our experience, though, was the friendly and warm staff. They were attentive and welcoming, ensuring we felt at home throughout our stay. The culinary experience was a joy, presenting a delightful mix of homely and gourmet dishes that left us wanting more. We wholeheartedly recommend Palm Bay Resort for anyone seeking a memorable retreat
While our stay at Palm Bay Resort in the Whitsundays was generally enjoyable, there were a few aspects that could use some improvement. We found the beds, particularly the pillows, not as comfortable or of the quality we expected. Additionally, the ceiling fan in our room had a distracting rattle, which affected our sleep quality. As the resort is situated on an island, we also found the range of food options and activities a bit limited. That said, Palm Bay Resort is a perfect destination for those who truly want to unwind and relax in a serene, idyllic setting.

After I booked I figured out that I would not arrive till after the last boat to the island at 4:00pm. lost a night there. had to get off a day early so I could get access to internet to book flights. 3G is all that is available on my cell phone. Location is great. hiking trail to Sandy Beach is great. you will see several monitors.
No WiFi. at least not for guest. Be sure to read the two paragraphs titled “WiFi and TV”, down in that paragraph you find there is neither. It should be titled “No WiFi or TV” and drop the 2 paragraphs.

The hotel is outstanding, from the location to the staff. Guests can use the complimentary hotel equipment to do different activities such as kayaking, going to the (small) gym, or playing tennis. There are paths around the hotel you can use to get around the island if you're feeling like going on a walk.
Other than that, the hotel is amazing to relax and do nothing by the pool or the sea. There's no Wifi or internet, so you can disconnect from everything.
The restaurant prices are on par with similar places in Airlie Beach, and the food quality is great.
While the dinner menu was amazing, I think there's room for improvement on the breakfast and lunch menus. We stayed for 5 days, and by the middle of our stay, we felt there was nothing else we wanted to try.
The other thing we didn't enjoy as much is that the day tour we did (Ocean Rafting) leaves from a nearby island, so you have to transfer there and back. This means you lose a couple of hours of your day "commuting" and not enjoying the tour or the island. This is by no means a fault of the hotel, but I think it's important for other visitors to know this so they can plan their stay accordingly.
Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely go back.

The location was lovely. Kayaking and paddle boarding was free. Room was nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely pool and the food was nice. The welcome drink was a nice touch. There isn't much on the island but it was so nice to relax. Saw a couple of kangaroos when we went on a walk.
Booked a beach view villa. Was told when checking in that booking.com had only sent our booking through that morning so we could not have the villa I had booked but luckily there was another villa. Was so disappointed as I had booked it for Valentines. Was offered a $100 credit which I thought was a nice gesture as it wasn't the hotels fault. It wasnt until we got back on the mainland and I could access the Internet that I checked my emails and had numerous from the hotel over the last 4 months so this really annoyed me as I had been lied to by the manager who told me they didnt know we were coming. This also happened to another couple who checked in the day after us for their honeymoon so they were disappointed too.

This is such an amazing place. Unbelievable location, beautiful accommodation, and cocktails by the pool to finish it all off. The kayaking and sups and are a great experience and it's really easy to get to a private stretch of sand just round the corner. I can't fault this place, hope to be back soon.
We loved it all. Probably worth mentioning that this isn't a luxury 5 star experience, but for us that just means it's far more relaxed and less pretentious than nearby locations.

We had a villa by the beach, with beautiful views of the ocean. Inside of villa very clean confortable and big enough for two. Beach nice shame we couldn’t go in the water but we used the pool which was fantastic.
The menu was good but should have more options for food, as after a while you want to eat something different, drinks cocktails were fantastic and the service was very good too. We enjoyed the two nights we spent at the resort.

The views are incredible and we were welcomed on arrival by some members of staff with a welcome drink which was a nice touch. All the staff are very friendly and give great customer service- they are a credit to the hotel. The location of the beachfront bungalows is great, with stunning views out to the ocean and hammocks on each deck. The food is delicious but the menu is limited and we were glad we brought food over from the mainland so we didn’t have to eat in the hotel restaurant for every meal; they have a great selection of cocktails too and the sunset bar overlooking the beach is a nice way to end an evening (but it closes at 7pm).
The interiors need renovating: the bathroom door had a lot of the paint chipped off it and the wood of the sink counter was peeling away, the kitchen drawers were dirty inside, some of our towels had stains on them, all of the shutters were covered in cobwebs and the sofas had stains on them and crumbs down the side too. There’s no housekeeping during your stay either so issues are hard to rectify. For example, we’d requested the double bed to be split into twin singles which it wasn’t and reported it to reception- they agreed to sort it the next day, but it never got sorted during our whole stay and we ended up separating the bed and divvying out the bedsheets already on the bed to sort it ourselves. There’s a lot that isn’t up to date on the website or their booking.com profile so this should be rectified as it causes confusion: for example, the website said reception could book activities for us but when I contacted reception, they gave me the names of the tour providers and told me to book direct. We only stayed a few nights but if you’re staying longer, you’d probably get bored as there are limited tour options from the resort.

Beautiful location, lovely gardens, accommodation only a few steps away from the water. Feels like a piece of paradise. The restaurant makes delicious food! The complementary activities were nice to have too.
We thought the food and drinks were a bit pricy but that’s what you have to pay for such a secluded location and it was delicious anyway.

Palm Bay Resort was the perfect getaway to celebrate our anniversary. It is such a beautiful and peaceful place with such friendly staff. Staff member Sam (Robert Irwin look alike) was very helpful and made us feel at home.
Would love for a glass bottom boat tour to be available from this island. More trips available from the island would be nice.

Beautiful, secluded location. With a limited amount of accomodation, it felt very peaceful and not overcrowded at all. Lots of local wildlife. Lovely pool area and beach activities which could be used freely. Had a lovely massage during the stay.
There is only one restaurant at the resort for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu did not change for the duration of the stay and the food was expensive and generally lacklustre. The rooms also didn’t have many catering amenities e.g no toaster.

good walks/hikes. don’t expect amazing views though, it’s all about the same.
lovely gym/yoga
overall was lovely resort, very relaxing and quiet, would stay again.
rooms were dark, not near enough lighting
No TV, No Wifi, and the shop closes at 6pm, so after 6pm we couldn’t borrow Any board games or do many activists.

Great location for people who want to chill for awhile. It is an awesome natural environment where wallabies, cockatoos, goannas and other native animals hang around. we even saw whales on the water taxi ride back to Shute Harbour. We were also able to view an event with many yachts. Meals and restaurant were very nice.
All good.
