The owner could not have been more delightful. He was very helpful and welcoming, offering us each something to drink as soon as we arrived, and spent time telling us about Saint Malo and recommended restaurants and things to do. The room was immaculate and clean, and the beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable. The owner's attention to detail was particularly noticeable. Lively breakfast! The hotel is in a great location. I would not hesitate to recommend this wonderful little gem of a hotel and look forward to returning. Tremendous value, too!

Tout était parfait, l'accueil des proprios et les bons conseils pour les visites et pour les restos à Saint-Malo. L'hôtel est vraiment magnifique, les chambres sont très belles et très propres, les lits très confortables. Le petit déjeuner servi aux tables par le proprio est abondant et succulent. En fait, n'hésitez pas à réserver.

Location and staff

The small lift and many stairs could be a problem for less able travelers.

Location is excellent and the owner is really helpful and lovely. We were given lots of tips (although we knew St Malo well anyway) and offered beach towels and toys for our son to use if we wanted to visit the beach.

The room is quite basic and a little dated in terms of decor (the ones on the lower floors seem to have been very tastefully refurbed) and it was a little cramped places i.e. distance between bed and bathroom door. We got back from dinner and found the room was suddenly very hot but opening the windows didn't create too much noise and the room cooled down a little although still remained very warm. When checking in we were asked if we wished to book breakfast (most St Malo Hotels don't include it in the rate) but we replied that we were going to have a wander the next morning in the city and find something. We were then told that nowhere would be open (on Sunday) for us to get breakfast in town (which we found odd as this has never been the case when we visited many times before). We decided to stick with our original plan and the next day we found there were plenty of options for breakfast on a Sunday in St Malo.

The hotel manager was fantastic, he gave us lots of helpful information & advice. The staff were also very helpful & carried our suitcases down the stairs for us

The rooms were very clean, well decorated, comfortable and quiet with a lot of attention and care for the details that matter (comfort of beds and bedding, toiletries, etc) and some very welcome extras such as beach towels and sand toys. Edward was amazing, full of great recommendations and helping with restaurant booking, he made our stay really memorable.

The breakfast room was under renovation so we had to get breakfast elsewhere but the recommendation from the staff was spot on and a short walk away so overall not a big issue. Once the breakfast room opens again I am sure it ilwill be worth it!

Great location within the walls of St. Malo. Within easy walking distance of parking, good restaurants, the beach, and the walls.

No breakfast on site option. However, renovations are being completed, so this may not be an issue in the future.

Great location in the center of old town, the host was extremly polite and helpful, suggested free coffe and croissant as an excuse for little construction works outside. The room was big and very clean will all you need for comfortable stay.

The owners Aurelie and Edouard were absolutely wonderful and we shall never forget the warmth they dedicated to us. The room was just perfect for us. The bed was very comfortable, the sheets were soft and the bathroom was very good, with good shower. We were delighted by a reccomendation that Edouard made on a restaurant close to the hotel, called “Bergamotte”. It was unforgetable. We had a marvelous stay and if we are fortunate to go back to Saint Malo, we shall certainly stay at The Nautilus again.

I loved everything.

We came as group of 4 friends to Le Nautilus in Saint Malo, Eduard welcomed us with a warm smile. We followed Eduard’s recommendations and had a perfect time in Saint Malo!! The location of the hotel was very good! He helped us park the car in the hotel, and he answered every need we had with pleasure! Even managed to put us together room by room :) One of us was sick and he took care of him nicely with tea to the room. We thank Eduard and Aureli, the staff of the hotel. The rooms are not too big

Edward our host was very friendly and helpful. He went above and beyond to recommend a restaurant and book it for us. We would definitely stay again. Great location.

Excellent choice for first visit, the host was passionate about introducing the city.

Edward is a very nice owner, and the rooms were exceptionally clean. The beds are awesome, we had our best sleep in a while.
