O acolhimento 5 estrelas por parte da Luisa, que nos faz sentir não como clientes, mas como amigos da casa. O cuidado de ter o quarto aquecido, que permitiu um conforto extra à chegada. A atenção permanente, mas não intrusiva. Um pequeno almoço sublime. Recomendo.

Absolutely everything. The building is beautifully furnished and maintained, we were offered the opportunity to choose our own room- all of which were different but equally stunning. The host insisted we have some cheese, wine and homemade quince at a time to suit us. We elected to have this in the early evening on the beautiful terrace overlooking the well kept large garden and the green valley below - a great view to enjoy. The breakfast was simply the best we have ever been offered with a huge array of prepared fruits including orange, pineapple, melon and banana. Fresh bread rolls, cooked ham and traditional jamón and sliced cheese. Also cakes - and large individual pots if freshly made tea or coffee. And even scrambled eggs were offered as well! Nothing was too much bother and we had the full run of the house and gardens.

La maravillosa atención de Luisa,que nada más llegar nos recibió con un aperitivo. Una casa señorial muy bien cuidada con muchos detalles históricos. Desayuno abundante y con mucho cariño. Ubicación excelente.

Esse casarão totalmente reformado e redecorado tem 6 quartos e serve de pousada. Decoração muito rica em detalhes, da um ar de aconchego. O café da manhã parece um café colonil do sul de Brasil, servido em excesso. Uma experiência para repetir. A proprietária faz de tudo para que os hóspedes se sintam a vontade e oferece chás, quueijos e outros mimos que não estão no pacote.

Amarante is beautiful and we liked everything at Casa Fontao. This is our third visit. Louisa is the perfect host and Casa do Fontao is exceptional in every way. The bedrooms are large, beautifully furnished in traditional Portuguese style and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfasts are delicious. Louisa made our stay at Casa do Fontao, special in every way. A big 'thank you' Louisa for making my wife and I, plus our friends, so welcome during our third visit.

Classically beautiful villa with spacious rooms, halls and bedrooms all tastefully decorated. Lovely loggia with comfortable seating on first floor overlooking the gardens and valley far below.

Casa do Fontão is the most enchanting place and our host, Dona Louisa's hospitality offers you so much more beyond what is expected. It was the most wonderful and romantic night of our Portugal journey.

It is a good walk from Amarante's centre, but we went down on our own and came back with a €5 taxi. Totally doable.

The house is amazing in it's stature and some of it's decoations indication recent and past grandeur. The bed, very comfy. The view, 5 minutes from Amarnate, in lush green hillside with 10-20km views (we had the end bedroom looking out over the valley and the inner patio) Louisa! The most friendly and caring host we have met in a long time. There at 6am and still there at 11pm to make sure all her guests have the best stay at her Casa Fontau. She has a very extensive breakfast, prepared with the love of a grandmother and this is INCLUDED - wow! Also, ask her anything and she will help you out in 5 languages at the same time if needed.

Nothing to note....

The most beautiful hotel we've been to in Portugal. The hosts were really welcoming. They gave us cheese, quince jelly and vino verde when we arrived. The rooms themselves were out of a fantasy novel! And the breakfast was the best one we had so far.

The only downside is that it's a bit away from he center. It was great with a car, but would have been annoying without.

More than more and more. Royal place with royal welcome. Much more beautiful than on pictures. Dona Louisa's welcome is beyond ... it's family attitude. Her handmade welcome marmelado is the best. The cheese and wine are the best. Everything is the best of the best. We are travelling a lot more than 20 years. This one is not just highly recommended it's just the best. Private villa-palace for you. Breakfast mmmmmm in the gorgious dining room. Sounds exagerated but true. Parking inside the property. Great view. We didn't want to leave this wonderful villa. And lovely town nearby

Breakfast was amazing.!! The welcome was so nice with wine, cheese, and bread. Room was super comfortable. The host, always greets you with a smile and is so very nice.!! My wife and I love this place..!! Can not say enough nice things about the stay..!!

The drive into the parking was a bit steep. But I was in a campervan. A car would have been just fine.!! Parking was great.!!
