Great location for beach walks. Jane the owner was very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is family batch style and priced as such. We had a very enjoyable stay and would stay again.
Nothing, just don’t expect designer fittings.

We loved the cute cosy bach like feel to this place. The location was great, so near the beach. Very comfortable bed and I loved reading on the sofa on the front porch. Jane was an awesome host, loved her cute puppy! Great breakfast provisions of bread, eggs, milk, cereal. I would definitely stay here again!
If you're looking for an ultra modern luxury appartment, stay somewhere else, but if you want a chilled, relaxed typical Kiwi bach experience, then stay here!

The host was friendly and welcoming. I had a simple special request and the host made it possible. I definitely will recommend it to friends and family if they want to visit the Catlins and need someplace to stay for the night.
There was an unexpected power outage probably because of the weather, other than that everything was great.

the instant you get there you can relax. The garden is beautiful and you have all you need in the unit:) we loved it!

Jane's place is beautiful, set in a blossoming garden, and seconds away from stunning Surat bay with great beach walks - rush hour here is seeing several sea lions at once! we were there in peak season and everything was wonderfully quiet and accessible. Jane is the perfect host, she had lots of good tips for the area, she knew where we could still get food late and which of the many great sights we should see first.

Stayed here 4 nights as a good base for the sightseeing areas of the Catlins. Close to the beach. Jane, our hostess really friendly, checked several times to make sure everything ok. Nice bed linen and towels and a good selection of breakfast ingredients with the great addition of fresh eggs. Plenty of information brochures available.
Kitchen hot water system needed attention. We understand this is a work in progress.

great location for walking along the Surat Bay to Cannibal Bay. The forest tracks were also easy to follow with wonderful bird song at dusk. The small hamlet/town of Owaka was easy driving and had an excellent restaurant.
The accommodation was well stocked for breakfast.

The little batch was super cute, lovely host and divine setting right by a gorgeous beach in a wonderful area. Exactly what we wanted and we look forward to returning.

One of the many beach's of the Catlins was just a stone throw away and and nice walk to unwind from driving, and spotting for wild life (Sealion) had to do a back track to get on to the beach.

Location is special. Very close to beach and very quite.

The kitchen facilities are basic, though we coped well with what was provided.
There is only 1 cooking element and a microwave, which makes cooking a meal from scratch a bit of a juggle.
I could have made it easier on myself by bringing food just to heat up in microwave.

Everything was lovely peaceful and quiet beautiful location 2 mins to the beach and sea life.

The owners were very friendly and met us at the property when we arrived. The cabin was cozy and comfortable, nice location by the beach too.

the bed was like sleeping on marshmelows , the property is for sale, the picture of the property is very deceptive, it is old and in need of TLC

- Location in the Catlins: close of Nugget Point, just in a beautiful area (Surat Bay) 5km drive from main town (Owaka) with supermarket and restaurants
- Host very friendly and keen to give us plenty of information re visits around
- Very quiet place right on the beach (50m)
- Fresh eggs given by hosts
- Overall good value for money
- Accommodation is a bit tired and needs a good refreshing
- Unsure about 63sqm size as described, it is probably closer of 50sqm
- Not very practical for cooking in the unit (only 1 induction hot plate) no oven (a part microwave)
- Shower boiling hot or if you want it less hot, there is not enough pressure
- Unusual way to get hot water for kitchen sink (and very slow as well)

Fantastic place, handy to beach, very comfortable and clean. Perfect for a weekend get away.
