The location was quite isolated. You will need a scooter to get around. The cafe does not serve food.

- If you are looking for a stay amongst locals, this is the place to go! Alejandro, Xavier and their parents are very friendly and nice people. They are also very patient, so I was able to practice my basic spanish skills :) - If you want, they offer to cook for you. The food was freshly prepared, very tasty and some ingredients, e.g. fruits and beans were even homegrown! - They can arrange different tours for a very reasonable price. Alejandro drove me around the island during an entire day and he was an excellent guide as well as driver!

We would highly recommend this family run accomodation to anyone visiting Ometepe. The walk from the port is 30mins however, Luis is happy to pick you up!

Everything was perfect! Food, location, comfortable bed and amazing family, who run this place. We felt really welcome and I would come back for sure!

Very authentic experience! You have a chance to stay in a little cabin next to a lovely local family and even eat breakfast (dinner as well for extra 6 dollars each) with them (at least little Spanish is a must because the sons who speak English is not always around so you will be struggling and feeling uncomfortable being unable to communicate as we were). The owner picks you up and drops off at the ferry, also you can rent a scooter from them, very convenient!

There's no wifi in the room, you have to walk a few hundred metres to catch it at the spot near the lake.

We rented a scooter from the property and had an accident after which there were some scratches on it and one broken rearview mirror, but no serious damage, probably few dollars worth for the mirror. The property asked 110 dollars for repairs, they even charged some missed opportunity costs. Complete scam. They offered us to also serve the dinner, we thought it would be complimentary for the stay (as we also booked another tour with them and rented a scooter, so we paid them apart from the accomodation additional more than 200 dollars), but was not, they charged 5 dollars each. The room itself didn't have any kind of isolation from the outside, we were woken up at 5am by the cocks. The bathroom didn't have a wall up to the ceiling, so it was directly connected with the room. We were very disappointed with the whole stay and left one day early.

The friendly atmosphere and helpful community. Sabier gave us perfect assistance even before we arrived. what a surprise he come to the port for pick-up, and he was there for any need. Breakfast is included we asked for ‘desayuno típico’ : how good 😋, the day after we asked to change: don’t miss their tasty pancakes with fresh fruits. Sabier’s mama cooked good food for us also in the evening. If you like to get in touch with the local people, ‘Puesto del Sol’ is a rural tourist community, so it’s the perfect 🤩 place for your stay. Room is basic, with bathroom. It’s near to the lake, the evening we enjoyed the beautiful sunset. we rented a scooter from them for $ 20 x day. Very nice to go all around Ometepe island. we thank all family for their kindness, good food and smile 😊

I had a fantastic time at Cabañas Dilany. The owner picked me up when I arrived on the island. Him and his family were so kind and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. I also chose to have lunch and dinner with them, because the food was so good. My cabin was really nice and cozy, in front of the lake which meant I could go on sunset walks every day. It's a really beautiful and quiet location. Also their son Luis gave me a tour of the island which was super nice. I cannot recommend that place enough!

Everything was fantastic. Had the best time eating and talking with the family. Relaxing spot, close to lake, easy walk to town, they rent motos right on the property. Very welcoming family. Food was real good too!

Our host was very helpful and wanted to make sure we had anything we needed, including coming to the ferry (when we were running late!) to ensure our departure.

pictures dont show gap between the wall and the roof for mosquitos to get in the room. Despite moquito nets which arent in the picture I got bit. Wifi isnt available at the rooms you have to walk down to the community center area which is fine except it was pouring rain. Also kinda far from anything like places to eat and hard to find at night with no signs

The entire family was exceptionally welcoming. The room was perfect and the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. A perfect place to relax, go swimming in the lake, and enjoy the island life. The meals were delicious as well. Would certainly return and recommend to friends.

I had an amazing time! The family is super kind and welcoming. The mother cooks delicious local dishes and they help you rent a scooter to visit the island. The room is CSU per clean and tidy and gives you independence to move on with your day. I definitely recommend it if you want to discover Omotepe and discover more about the local people.

The family's is amazing and mama cooks the most amazing food! Awesome value for money. Short walk to beach and little bar. Xavier was able to assist with any request we had (we rented almost brand new dirtbikes for the day!). Awesome experience and a good way to experience the island.
