For backpackers accomodation it was very good. Clean, warm and comfortable. Our group had self contained unit with own lounge, bathroom and kitchen...great for our group. Ester was lovely...very attentive.

Budget accommodation in a fabulous location. Esther and her husband were lovely and they shared their excellent knowledge on the wildlife. A great place to escape to. Eggs available to purchase which was useful too.

Had a really friendly welcome from the owner, the bedroom was a really great size, comfy bed, exceptional view of the beach from my window, really well stocked kitchen for cooking and preparing meals.

Lovely setting by the sea.
Noise from bathroom woke us through the night. Pillows were uncomfortable. Hole's in window frame so it was not sealed so cold air and moisture came in around the window.

A family with kids kind of took over the kitchen and it was difficult to prepare a meal for us. Bathrooms were a little cramped but functional

the location is perfect as it’s right on the beach in Surat bay. check in was easy and staff was lovely. great value for money. the view from the room was breathtaking
the walls were thin and you could hear the neighbours slightest noise but not a problem as sound sleepers but bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. would still recommend

Staff were awesome, incredibly accomodating, have recommended this location to several people since my trip. We ended up here because we were supposed to be staying at Thomas Catlins Hostel, however the lady there was very rude and cancelled our booking made months in advance 10 days before our trip, she had forgotten we had a booking there when she accepted others. Our group for the most part was therefore left without accomodation shortnotice before a busy Easter weekend. Managed to get a booking at Surat and they were amazing, plus the location on the beach was stunning.

We stayed in a private double room with an amazing sea view which was cosy and warm. The entire place is spotlessly clean to a very high standard. The kitchen has all the amenities including coffee plunger. Ester (the host) was very hospitable and friendly. The area has so much to offer; beach walk, sea lions, cockle collecting and more. We would definitely return.
