Het ontbijt was goed.
Ontvangst: heeel kortaf en direct de mededeling dat er geen plek meer was voor diner! Ze keek door het gordijn en zei: bij de buren nog wel en ze vroeg: ontbijt? Meer kwam er niet uit.
De kamer (5) op de tweede verdieping was erg gehorig, wat bij het oude gebouw hoort maar de gasten leken wel in onze kamer te zijn. Deuren piepen, vloeren kraken, toilet spoelt heel luidruchtig door. De anderen moeten hun kamer uit op naar een toilet of badkamer te gaan waardoor er constant met deuren werd gesmeten (dranger op deur dus valt hard dicht) slaapkamer was erg scheef, om dol van te worden. Sanitair scheef en ontzettend oud maar schoon. Geen beluchting.
Bedden zijn goed.
We zijn Gulpen in gegaan voor een gezellig terras om te gaan dineren. 2 km wandelen. Goed te doen.
Terug bij het hotel was er nog even tijd voor een pilsje maar er is nog geen stok kaarten te vinden. Het antwoord op onze vraag of er misschien een spelletje was: nee.
In de morgen vanaf 08:30 uur ontbijt. Gastvrouw vroeg: koffie of thee? Verder komt er niks uit. Niet zo van: fijn geslapen ofzo.
Bij uitchecken ook weer erg kortaf. En we werden gesommeerd via de achterdeur het hotel weer te verlaten. Geen goedendag ed. Gastvrijheid was erg ver te zoeken. Wij moesten er eigenlijk behoorlijk mee lachen toen we weer gingen maar dat was meer uit grote verbazing. Ik zou het niemand aanraden!

We were 3 persons and we had huge, cozy apartment.
We rented it for Pinkpop festival. It’s very close village to the festival location.

Despite the hard COVID conditions we really much enjoyed our stay - they coped with everything well and tried to Mark the best of our stay- Room Service for Dinner etc. Excellent Salad

Great location for anyone who is going to cycle or walk in the area.
Close to the border with Germany and Belgium.
Chair was taken away from our room without asking. Second day the bread was dry.

Excellent food dinner/breakfast. The menu is pretty standard, but the quality was excellent.

Overall if you book in time and get one of the main rooms I would think it is an ok hotel, but from our experience you need to watch out because they might not hesitate to charge beyond reason when having the opportunity to do so.
There was a miscommunication in the booking (phone call which was not noted) because of which the hotel expected one person while we were two. Initially the staff refused to let us stay, but then accommodated us.
While I am grateful we could stay in the end because we were on a walking trip with very hot weather and it would be very difficult to find another place to stay, it did feel as if the hotel made abuse of the situation to shamelessly overcharge. As we booked last minute we got a spare room of the quality of a second class hostel (urgent need of refurbishment, not foreseen of any amenities you would expect in a hotel, low quality bed, shower and toilet in the corridor, etc.). The room was clean though, so in itself it was an ok room to stay. The problem was with the price. We paid two to three times the amount you would expect for such a room. As we are doing a long-distance walking trip through the Netherlands we stayed in many hotels and B&Bs in the country and for the price of this second class hostel room we would normally get a nice and modern two person room with breakfast included. At this hotel not even the breakfast was included.
