Easy to find, lovely historic pub with a comfortable room and very tasty breakfast. Despite being an old place, it had all mod-cons and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The air conditioning in the room was very welcome as it was a hot day. The staff were also able to keep our bags for us for a few hours after we'd checked out, which meant we could explore locally a bit longer before our onward travel. It was at the pricier end of our budget but I'd happily stay here again.

The cold tap in the bathroom ran warm and the window wasn't frosted which was a little disconcerting as the bathroom was overlooked by a balcony opposite.

The location is perfect for exploring London. It was easy to access by train. The pub is perfect for dinner and a pint. The staff was very friendly and the room - although small was well appointed.

Lovely rooms. Good selection of snacks/minibar. Very clean 👌 Aircon in bedrooms.

Access could be a little tricky if you have mobility issues as quite a few stairs to climb, but not an issue for us.

Just be aware there are some steep steps to go up to get you your room, no elevates.

Location is great-that was the reason for booking it. Also very effective Air con which made a nice change.

Previous guest sanitary products left on bathroom floor. On both stays bathroom light bulbs needed replacing but no spares avaialble, so no adequate light near any mirrors. Curtains hanging off the hooks both stays. Damanged battered furniture in both rooms. Safe not working but no one availabe to fix it-fundamental and would not stay there again for that alone. Bedroom lights didn't work, only bed side lights. If there is a knack then tell people-that is basic customer service. Bathroom sink blocked-cleaners must have known this on cleaning bathroom...makes you wonder if it was cleaned. I gave it a second chance because of the location but it is low quality and therefore over priced

Great distribution of space, comfy bed, great bath tub

A bathrobe would be great to chill in the room. it was a little cold and just for one night didn’t bring any casual clothes to change into.

Great staff, comfortable bed, brilliant shower, well stocked minibar, good size and design. Internet worked fine. Would have loved a drink in the pub as it looked lovely but didn't have the time.

Minor issues were: noise from outside, a small leak in the bathroom left corner, everything else was perfect.

Great little pub with rooms that are wonderfully authentic. Staff made us feel welcome, good location for tubes and the Barbican. Look out for your chocolate fox
