It is a lovely Art Deco building. It was situated across the road from the ferry terminal and close to bars and restaurants.

Hosts were friendly & helpful. Hotel clean but quite basic facilities.

Bluff itself is not particularly attractive or a holiday destination in itself (unless you’re into shark cage diving, apparently)

The hosts are very welcoming and friendly and the rooms are comfortable. The owners are working hard to renovate an older property. There are rooms with an en suite bath, and others that access a shared bath. We had the latter and it was fine, but be sure to reserve the room with your choice. It is a good value and an economical place to stay on the way to or from Stewart island.

The neighborhood is in an older, working waterfront section of Bluff. It is not in a touristy "beach resort" area, but does have a nice walk along the waterfront and an excellent restaurant nearby.

Host is very kind. Place is good maintenance.

We stayed in second floor and it creaye noise when we walked.

It's a shame that the view from the front is taken by a condemned industrial building, but it's just a stones throw from the Stewart Island ferry terminal, food shops and hotel. Even dive with the Sharks Office is just down the road.

Lovely owners who go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need.

Very friendly hosts and very much appreciated being able to leave our car in their carpark when we went over to Stewart Island.

We were made very welcome. We arrived late but were still welcomed. We also thought we had a problem with locking the car just before leaving for the Stewart Island ferry. The hotel owners couldn't have been more helpful, they took our baggage so it would be safe and then while we were waiting for the ferry worked out what the problem was and came to tell us so we wouldn't worry. Other bonuses are being able to leave a car at the hotel while on Stewart Island and that breakfast is provided. The ferry terminal is just a few minutes walk away.
