the staff at front desk were friendly and tried to be resourceful

The booking listing mentioned a number of facilities that were necessary for me to make the most of my stay and justify paying a high rate. When we arrived, there was no fridge (it was brought later), no electric kettle (brought on day 3), no iron and ironing board, no garbage bin, no plates and cutlery, no desk with a chair to work (it was brought later), and no telephone in the room in order to communicate with the front desk. I chose the hotel because of the pool but upon arrival I was told that it had been emptied for cleaning and would be functional the next day. It was not. The staff proposed a suite on the 4th floor (no elevator) which was impossible for me as I have issues with my knees. I asked the receptionists to put me in touch with the hotel manager, but she only called me on day 3. After I explained my dissatisfaction with everything, she said she would make a price reduction, but in the evening the receptionist basically told me I would have to pay the full price minus taxes on the condition I cancel the booking. I do not feel comfortable not paying taxes so I will have to pay the full price despite not being satisfied at all.

In all my years of traveling, this has to be one of the worst hotels because it was smelly, unclean, felt unsafe with a door that would not close, unstable electricity AND this was a Deluxe King Suite for which I paid $142 for the room and airport transfer (pick up and drop off). Don’t believe the ratings and pictures for this hotel. It should be a 2 star hotel at best and at the current rates it is not value for money at all. It is very overpriced. The hotel room door does not close properly, the room is very basic and not very clean, it felt like there were bugs crawling on my skin all night, the room seems to be converted from an old office, the power was very unstable, it rained at night and there was so much sand and dirt washing into the bathroom, the bathroom smelled very strongly of urine, the mirror and sink was very dirty. In fact honestly, this place is not worth $20 a night and the pictures are very deceptive as are the ratings. I was going to film this room and bathroom as it was so shocking, that one had to see it to believe it but was running late to catch my flight. The breakfast was terrible, did not even know it was possible to have hard inedible bread!

it’s a bit dark inside the corridors.. need to have more lights. the table and chair in the room are very basic and the TV does not have satellite channels.

The location is very convenient, both on the bus route between Saint-Louis & Thies and to the airport. The staff were very pleasant, and the manager, Mamadou, was eager to get my input about the hotel. Breakfast was simple but decent. The most interesting dish was thiakry, a kind of sweet couscous.

Staff were not very helpful with my bags, either at check-in or checkout. The wifi was OK in the public areas but terrible in the room! The swimming pool was OK but small and COLD! Mr. Mamadou said it was because of the time of the year, but I'm skeptical. The walls seem a bit thin, so the place was very loud, especially when the other guests got rowdy! The sitting room was nice enough, but the bedrooms were old and didn't seem very well maintained.

Lovely boutique hotel! If again in Thies, I will for sure stay at Residence Blue again :) And thank you to all the friendly staff and Mamadu for the nice talk and Gazelle beers ;)

The hotel is a little oasis, with clean rooms, a lovely deck pool area and very helpful friendly staff. Enjoyed my stay there...

Location near the airport, airport shuttle easy to arrange and reasonably priced. The room was clean and tidy, a few bits on the floor. Very comfortable bed and nice blue lighting. Pleasant outdoor pool area. Helpful staff in all areas. Carried my heavy luggage to my room and I would have struggled with that due to injury. Helped with the air con. Excellent food and drinks in the restaurant.

Could have provided more toiletries, only soap in the room.
