The building is very old and charming. The breakfast was excellent!

We expected there would some stairs, but it was at least 35 steps up to our room. Quite a hike for an elderly couple!

After walking 10 minutes to our hotel in Óbidos, this hotel provides much easier parking experience: free street parking outside of the hotel door. Our expectations were not high. Comfortable rooms and beautiful pool. Good sleep.

So quiet, perfect for a relaxing weekend. Wonderful view from the pool.

They were a bit slow to refill the breakfast buffet but we got everything we wanted/needed eventually. The pool area could have more shade and sun loungers to accommodate more guests.

Lovely comfortable bed. Great location. Spacious and airy bedroom and bathroom. Strawberry juice for breakfast 1 morning was delicious! And we found a terrace in the garden to eat breakfast on which was beautiful.

The shower switch, switching from bath tap to shower, kept switching back. The deck area directly outside the dining room was a bit untidy and tired-looking - although we found the terrace mentioned above in the garden which was great.

Incredible location, very nice view, super beautiful swimming pool, peace and quiet. Best value for money. we really recommend!

The location is certainly stunning and the building is charming and in good physical shape. The swimming pool and garden are certainly a welcome bonus.

Since I am not a Portuguese speaker I did not appreciate that "estalagem" was not a hotel. The fact that the management has not made provisions to provide drinks (e.g. vending machine in the lobby or a fridge in the reception that could be managed by the reception staff) was unforgivable; especially, during the heat period that coincided with my stay. Unfortunately, it seems to be another establishment that is selling location without paying much attention to basic customer service.

Nice small hotel outside of the Monsaraz city walls. Good size pool overlooking the gorgeous valley. Friendly staff. Short walk to Monsaraz old town.

Upon arrival room was smelling quite damp. A quick blow through from the windows did the trick. Room could have been less dusty.

Perfect position. lovely rooms. Pool. Lovely breakfast.

The girl at breakfast was lovely; I thought Anna who checked us in could improve her people skills.

A comfortable place to stay in Monsaraz. Very close to the village inside the main wall. I specially appreciate the comfort of my bed and the quietness at night.

I did not like the stairs that provide access to my room in the first floor with a view to the lake.
