A nice place, perfect for hanging out and relaxing with friends.

Perfect spot for relaxing by the lake out on the deck and exploring the area surrounding Deep Creek lake. So much to see and do!

Wonderful

Where to begin… It's advertised to sleep eight. On the listing with pictures it has two queen beds and two full futons . In reality there are 2 queen beds and the new futons barely fit one person on them. When my teen was sleeping on the futon it continued flipping because there wasn't any support on the side that lowered to convert it into a bed. No mattress just a hard cheap piece of furniture to look at. Therefore slept on the couch the second night. You may want to try to lay on something before expecting someone else to sleep on it. There is no possible way that a taller or heavier person could lay on it. In my opinion this place barely accommodated five for sleeping. I am just glad that this was a two night stay. If I had rented this for a week long vacation I would have left and requested a refund. Once we first arrived on the main level we noticed there was a huge draft coming in from the main floor bedroom. Once we investigate it we found that the window had been locked but the top portion was down about a half inch . We shut and locked it properly. That led me to check all the other windows which I found all the other windows on the main level were unlocked. No firewood under the deck out of the elements for us to use. It was empty. wood on the side of the house was damp. Therefore no fire was able to be started. Highly disappointed after a long day of hiking not able to enjoy it. If you are paying for cleaning service I would encourage them to dust and wipe things down especially the nightstands, mirrors and most importantly the main dining table where there is a lot of standing dust everywhere especially on the centerpieces in the middle of the table where you eat. We ate our breakfast and a lunch there so it was very noticeable, not good. Main bedroom mattress was like sleeping on a rock, the blind on the window in this room was to small . Every morning as soon as the sun came up the light blasted us in our faces . We know it's a rental property but you may want to check all the curtain rods. Every time you open and close the curtains the whole rod / brackets would move. Overall experience, disappointed will not be back to this rental and will definitely stay away from listings with this property management company. It seemed from the time I booked this place to my actual stay sleeping accommodations had changed but was not updated prior to arriving.

This was perfect. We very much enjoyed this cabin. The view of the mountains and lake was gorgeous. Only issue was the steep driveway which was a little slick with all the leaves. Thank you so much for sharing your space with us. Already planning a spring trip back.

The house was very clean and well kept. I had to call for more towels and the Property managers were very nice and hospitable. Service was quick. Downsides were the advertised pool table is very worn and almost unplayable. (I like to shoot pool, one of the reasons for our choice.) Table needs to be have new felt and rails, and to be leveled. Second downside was the steepness of the driveway. When leaving the driveway, my trailer hitch and bumper would drag the pavement and I have a high pick up truck. But we had a great time there. Enjoyed out stay.

If you’re not experienced with parking a boat trailer it could be a little difficult.

While Deep Creek Lake is delightful, the Sm'oars rental should be avoided until the owner makes substantial improvements overall. The house was in general disrepair, with many scuffed walls, ceiling cracks, chipped drywall, and holes in the air conditioner window frame that allowed cold air in the upstairs bedroom when the wind blew. Moreover, the cleaning of the house left much to be desired, as all glass surfaces were grimy, and dirt and garbage was found under the throw rugs on the main floor. In addition, the photos of the unit on VRBO failed to reveal that the view to the lake is obstructed by several nearby telephone and electrical wires, making it quite unsightly.

Thank you for a pleasant stay. We enjoyed beautiful Fall foliage, a hike at Deep Creek State park and meals on the porch overlooking the lake. We enjoy Deep Creek area and will be back.

Lovely lake home. Perfect for 2 couples. Says it sleeps 8 but I think 4 adults plus kids would be the max. There were just 2 of us. Perfect location and very comfortable. Would highly recommend

I generally don't trust kitchens to be fully equipped so I brought my own cookware but I would have been just fine if I left that at home. Only request in the kitchen would be to have a larger wooden/plastic cutting board. The two futons in the downstairs look like they were updated recently but targeted the sitting position more than the laying down one, there was one foam topper we found but having enough for both would really help a good night's sleep. Pool table was a huge plus and the whole design of the place held together. The one interaction we had with staff (a request about how we parked cars) was pleasant, and the neighbors were all friendly enough even letting us borrow an extension cord. Truly a perfect long weekend getaway on the lake

The whole family said how much the enjoyed their stay! The Lake view was breathtaking, it was warm cozy and clean!!

This place needs updated. Broken beds and flat sofa cushions makes a terrible night sleep

This was a special treat to my sister who is raising a thirteen year old autistic grandson, and her life is crazy. This retreat did her a world of good.

Quick drive to anything yet it is quiet and secluded in a cove. House has fantastic amenities like reclining leather sofas that are super comfortable. Also, lounge chairs on the deck. Lots of extra touches that draw us back every year. Also, a great place to dock a boat if you decide to rent one :)

I enjoyed the fantastic view off the amazing deck. The fireplace was used Saturday & Sunday, with the windows and doors wide open Tuesday & Wednesday!! My brother proposed & became engaged with his girl, we bowled, had ice cream outside and ventured to West Virginia. We were unable to use the beautiful jetted tub because of the Sulphur/rotten egg smell, even after trying a few times thinking it would go away with use. All in all, a fantastic, bi-polar weather, long weekend!

DCL was right across the street, several evenings we brought glasses of wine and sat in chairs by the lake, watching the ducks and beautiful fall foliage. Comfortable bedrooms, there is also a basement bedroom/sitting area with a full bath. Open area kitchen/dining/living rooms, comfy furniture and nice layout. A few glitches: jets in upstairs sunken tub seemed anemic, house could have used a little more lighting. Property management was extremely responsive when an issue developed with the water. House shares a driveway with several nearby neighbors, this did not pose a problem for us as there was no one else in the other houses. Loved this property and hope to return.
