From first booking, the host, Patrizia was very welcoming. She gave us a lot of details about the area and all there was to do, places to visit and restaurant suggestions.
We were a group of 5 couples. All bedrooms are a good size with private bathrooms though we did have to allocate rooms based on ease of access.
The pool and garden are delightful and the outdoor table is super for a big group. We had a lovely relaxing time staying at The Old Mill

Friends and I finally got to enjoy some post-pandemic travel and this villa didn’t disappoint. We enjoyed great outdoor space and spacious bedrooms so that we could each have plenty of privacy. We loved the rustic feel of the place and Patrizia was always responsive to our questions. While the villa is a short drive to many locations, the town itself is SUPER quiet with not a lot happening. Would recommend for those looking for a peaceful retreat.

We had a large family reunion with 6 adults and 7 kids for two weeks and we absolutely loved this house and location! The house is so special (and so old!), but you can see and feel all of the love Patrizia put into the house. The outside area is lovely and spacious. Staying in Surano is a bit like going back in time - the older generation sitting outside their houses chatting to everyone who walks by and everything is closed for two hours in the afternoon. We were lucky enough to be there when a festival was on. The locals embraced us and made us feel so welcome even though we could not speak any Italian and there was no English in the town (or area)! Luckily, Patrizia is like a personal travel agent and suggests places to go every day and makes reservations whenever needed. There is so much to do in Puglia and near Surano that we could have stayed for several more weeks. We had so many highlights, but taking a boat trip from Castro and strolling around Otranto (both Patrizia’s suggestions) were probably to two most memorable! We will be back!

Beautiful property full of Puglian charm but with all modern amenities. Very spacious accommodation and gorgeous outdoor garden and pool in a quite little village. One comment from the kids - they would have liked the WiFi to extend to the bedrooms. Our host Patrizia was very welcoming and helpful, suggesting places to visit and eat. Convenient food store, pizza takeaway and sports bar all within walking distance. All in all a wonderful vacation and sad to leave.

The most amazing house with such an authentic atmosphere.
We were not disappointed in any way. The well kept house offers everything we had hoped for. There was everything needed for a nice stay. The wonderful garden and the pool area was so tasteful and we just wanted to stay there all the time but we did find a couple of days to go on sight seeing in the exciting area. The very kind hosts Patrizia and her husband Roberto sincerely wanted the best for us and did everything beyond expectation to make our stay so memorable. We already want to go back .. thank you so much both of you .. all the best from a happy visiting family of 10 Danes.

Terrific Easter break
We were two families that rented Patrizia's lovely house. The house is well equipped and maintained, stylishly decorated and comfortable. Open log fire was lovely on the chilly evenings however the heating is good. Very good wifi. Lovely garden with good size pool, lots of chairs and loungers. Large dining table and charcoal Weber BBQ under the orange trees.
Patrizia is the best host we have ever had. She speaks excellent English and gave us many recommendations for areas to visit and places to eat. She was very happy to make the bookings and provide links for the satnav too. She answers messages very quickly. She even brought us a cocktail shaker when we asked for one!! Thank you Patrizia.
The little sports bar, which is 2 mins walk away, is great for a breakfast pastry and coffee and an evening beer to watch a football match. Very friendly owners and staff.
We recommend this lovely old mill

Beautiful Villa in traditional Salento town
We have just returned from Puglia and are missing Surano already! This villa has everything. It’s location is ideal, the town felt authentic and it’s residents were welcoming and friendly. Surano offers a fantastic restaurant with an enchanting outside eating area, a pizzeria, a corner shop and a bar cafe where we recommend trying the delicious Pasticciotto, traditional pastries from Salento. Nothing is too far away and we were easily able to explore the contrasting rocky and sandy coasts and the charming towns in between. Patrizia went above and beyond in helping us enjoy our stay, giving us advice about places to visit, recommending and booking restaurants and even reserving umbrellas and sun beds at a glorious beach. She was always on hand through WhatsApp to answer our questions. We were 4 adults and 5 teenage children and the villa offered plenty of space for us all. The villa is thoroughly clean and well equipped and the much needed air conditioning ( we were there during a heatwave) was exceptionally effective. We would not hesitate to recommend this villa and relish the thought of returning.

Prachtig huis

Alles was man braucht ist in unmittelbarer Umgebung

Amazing Holiday!!
We had the absolute best week at the house in Surano! The house itself was perfect - beautifully designed, super comfortable for families and with an amazing set up with the kitchen and outdoor area right next to each other so the kids could play. Patrizia was so helpful all throughout the week as well - helping us with dinner reservations, babysitters and recommending the best beaches for each day. She really made us feel welcome and helped us to get the most out of visiting this incredible corner of Italy. We will definitely be back!!! One of the best holidays we have had for a long time! Thank you Patrizia!!

Wonderful family meeting at the stunning Holy Spir
We spent a wonderful family vacation at the Mill. It’s a stunning villa, recently renovated, functional, with a great attention to detail and ideally designed spaces for the pleasure of sharing while preserving privacy and tranquility. Surano is a small town very pleasant and centrally located to explore the region of Salento, which has enchanted us for the beauty of the sea, hinterland and villages. Patrizia and Roberto welcomed us with great professionalism, communication has always been excellent and thanks to their advice our vacation was even more beautiful. An experience to recommend totally.

High Standard
Thank you Pat. I truly enjoyed my stay here and felt you have put together a most exceptional property. I also appreciated your personal attention and help in our requests. I will be happy to be a reference for you on the quality of the property. It would have been nice to get to know you and Roberto better and it is too bad time did not allow that. Do let me know if your travels take you to NY, Seattle or Los Angeles and it may be nice to meet again. I really recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday, with beautiful places, rich in history and surrounded by beautiful countryside and a caribbean sea. Again thank you, Best regards, Sara

nice house in Surano / Puglia
A nice renovated house, suitable if you want to rent a house together with other families. Good kitchen and a nice patio with a dining area and pool. The pictures on the page correspond well with reality. Surano is a nice village with restaurants / grocery store within walking distance and is a good starting point for exploration of Puglia.

Beautifully converted villa in historic town
We (family of 4: 2 adults, 2 teenagers) had a lovely two week holiday in this truly delightful house. Patrizia has converted the old mill house with intelligence and flair to create 5 large double bedrooms each with an en suite bathroom and stunning indoor/outdoor living space. The citrus grove garden is delightful with well-designed shady zones to sit and relax in and a lovely swimming pool. Although in the heart of the town the property is surrounded by other gardens and has a lovely "rus in urbe" feel. Surano itself is a charming small town with a beautiful church and traditional piazza. The town has a lovely restaurant, a couple of good pizzerias and convenience stores and a large and well-stocked supermarket is only 3 km away. The location is perfect for exploring the history of this ancient country, visiting the many beaches on both the Ionian and Adriatic coasts and sampling the very high standard of local cuisine. Patrizia and Roberto are extremely helpful and made sure we got the most out of our stay. We very much appreciated their recommendations for places, events and restaurants to visit and their help with making reservations. We whole heartedly recommend this property and intend to come back!
