We love staying at the Currituck Club and this was the perfect house for us. My husband and I vacationed with ours daughters and their husbands and our three grandchildren. Although the house does not have a water view, we enjoyed staying adjacent to the golf course and watching the golfers. We loved the traditional floor plan of this house with the living areas on the main floor and the bedrooms upstairs. We wanted for nothing at this house! Plenty of cookware and utensils, all in like new condition. The owners thought of everything! The ice maker came in handy and eliminated multiple trips to the store for ice.Books, games & puzzles and a theater room for evening entertainment. I don't know how old this house is, but it was in great shape for a "pets welcomed" home.With the oldest grandchild starting school next fall, we will need to pick an earlier date, but we plan to rent this house again, as long as it is available.

This house was perfect for our group (4 adults & 2 teenagers). It was tastefully decorated and very clean! We have been coming down to Corolla for many years and this particular house with a great location, bedroom/bathroom setup, and great pool/outdoor space is our favorite by far.

The perfect beach house. The floor plan was great for our family. It had all the amenities we look for in our vacation home. The house was clean and new. The location to everything was great! The only con on this house was there was no protection from the golf course. We found 3 golf balls in the pool during our stay. Luckily no one was in the pool. House could use trees or some type of barrier from the golf balls. Otherwise, we loved the house and will definitely rent it again next year.

We had a good week at this house. The weather wasn't great so the amenities it provided were a lifesaver. The game room, theatre room, pool and hot tub were wonderful!!! Our only concerns were that golf balls were regularly flying into the backyard and pool area. It made us a bit nervous about sitting out there during the day. My husband almost got hit twice! Also, the upholstered chairs in the living room were a bit stained and dirty. I wish the website had given more information about the trolley to the beach. The lines were often long to get on, and the walk to the beach from the trolley stop was long for older adults. Overall this was a great house and we would recommend to friends. Thank you!

We loved the property,especially the pool, spacious kitchen, bed & bathrooms & game room. The house met our needs for the two families that stayed there. Unfortunately the first 1-2 days there was no air conditioning in the upstairs bedrooms/game room. We were told that someone would be there to fix the AC before we arrived but that did not happen. We had to sleep without AC the first night, which was very uncomfortable. The second day the HVAC folks came to determine that the unit would need to be replaced once the owner approved it. Towards the end of that day window units were brought in to cool down the upstairs bedrooms. The game room was still hot. The next day the HVAC was replaced with a new system. While I understand that these type of situations cannot be predicted, it did put a damper on our first could of days due to the heat. The cost of a week's stay is not cheap and we were hoping for some type of compensation for the inconvenience we experienced not only because of the heat, but having workers in and out of the house during those first couple of days. We would appreciate further consideration of this request. Thanks much.

We have stayed here multiple times before and will stay again. We love the home. If I am being super picky, my only complaint is the cover for the hot tub is super heavy and not very practical

The home was beautiful, well maintained and very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our casual meals and having the gas grill was an added bonus. There was plenty of space for our family of 7 adults and 3 children. The kids especially enjoyed the media room. We loved having the pool and hot tub and took advantage of using them every day. The grassy area of the yard is very nice and we enjoyed using it for our corn hole tournament. The home felt very private even though it is right on the golf course. The added amenities of the Currituk Club were awesome especially the trolley which stopped right in front of the house. The trolley drivers were amazing and some even helped us load/unload our beach gear. The location of the home is also very convenient especially with the Harris Teeter grocery store being only a few minutes away.

This is our second time staying at this house. We had to shift our vacation by a day due to my son's wedding. The group made it easy to go from Saturday to Saturday to Sunday to Sunday. We love this house and would recommend it to anyone considering it. Thank you for allowing us to share your beautiful home.

Only downside was getting to the beach. Limited parking at lot, had to get there early for a spot. House was perfect for family gathering, made great use of pool and grill area. Would have been nice to allow guest to utilized beach chairs that are in garage, that way would cut down on items needed to pack in car. Great location, easy access to grocery and community club.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home! Roomy enough for our whole family. Would definitely stay again. Loved that we could just go hop on the trolley to go to the beach, saved our cars from all the sand! The pool was nice too, although a little cold the week we were there! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was our second stay in this lovely home. It has all the amenities to make a wonderful trip become extraordinary. The pictures on the web are true to the actual home. It was very clean and well maintained. I feel the rental agency responded to any of my questions prior to the trip and helped make it a pleasant experience. I have rented in the OBX area for 15+ years and know when I find and great home, this is a keeper. Our family enjoyed the home, driving on the beach to the VA state line, Jockey's Ridge, Sunset Grill, a fresh sea food boil on the grill any much more.

We arrived late Saturday evening at Shankop0tamus ("Shank") with two families - 9 total - and was amazed at this house! From the beginning to the end (of our stay), everyone had ample space to move, relax, and entertained; bedrooms were spacious with nice views of the golf course, kitchen was totally loaded with top-shelf applicances, cooking utensils, seasonings, etc., including an dedicated ice machine and working dishwasher. Recreation room was outstanding, as was the theater room - plenty of stocked movies to choose from. Step outside and we enjoyed the hot tub, private pool, outdoor shower and grill. So many options to have made it so easy to live for the week! The added luxury afforded to us was the Currituck Club member access when traveling to the beach; a modest weekly rental allowed for beach chairs and umbrella to be set up on the beach at our leisure - no waiting or calling in an advance to arrange - just go and sit and relax...awesome! The Currituck Club also offers child care with experienced, college grads who intern at the club so, as parents, we had comfort in knowing our children were well cared for; there are also 5 other pools at the club to enjoy plus all the other amenities a country club has to offer. Grocery store is within walking distance to stock up on food; everything is within a very short drive. I would HIGHLY recommend Shank to any family(families) thinking about staying in the OBX! My personal suggestion is if you are driving from the North, the traffic is beyond heavy so plan to arrive early in the morning (if your route takes you down I-95South toward Richmond as it was a "parking lot" for hours at times) although your checkin time is 4:00PM on Saturday, as the entire East Coast vacations in the OBX. (You must also take the bridge into the island which will also be bottle-necked; travel early is the best way to go!

Perfect for Relaxation
The house was amazing for my husband and I as well as 2 adult children. Location can’t be beat! The hot tub and pool were enjoyed daily. We brought our own bedding due to Covid, but they did have fresh linens in plastic. Kitchen was well stocked. Game room a plus!We are definitely booking again for the same date next year. We loved it!

This home was perfect for our weeklong stay. My husband and I were with my parents, which is not enough people to fill the house. The living area was ideal with its open floor plan and very well appointed kitchen. We had no intentions of cooking, but after finding little of interest in Corolla, we ate in a few times. The furniture is comfortable and clean. We are not golfers, so staying on the course rather than the beach was a trade off that worried me. We opted for this because of the interior amenities given that we were traveling in the shoulder season. There were a few annoyances with the rental agency: 1. physical check in was required despite the fact that they have an app that provided the door code. We received a paper packet with coupons and the security gate code in person. 2. Some of the information regarding check in and check out was outdated and/or for full season guests only. Instructions indicated that we should check in at the fitness center before entering the home, but the fitness center is unattended on weekends. Check out procedures indicated that linens must be put in a laundry bag, but there was no laundry bag. Information regarding the trolley system did not mention that it does not run during the off or should or shoulder seasons. These were all minor points, but should be easy enough to keep up to date and did consume some of our time. Without the minor issues with the rental agency this would have been absolute perfection.

great location for a week in Corolla
2nd time staying in this property which is nicely located within the Currituck Club providing easy access to the beach, golf, and all sorts of amenities. Only negative issue we had is the pool being unheated which left the water fairly chilly even in August, I'm guessing from the recent rain storms prior to our arrival. Otherwise just a nice place to spend a week.

Not ready at check in time
The cleaning crew never showed up to have the home ready for us at check in time. We had to wait an additional 2 hours after we called management.
They did refund my card $100 and will be providing an early check in next year.
Also, cable & internet did not work for two days straight. They had to send maintenance over twice for this issue.

Everything we needed
This property has everything you need for a relaxing beach vacation. There are plenty of supplies. The location within the golf course meant more quiet and less wind. We appreciated the comfortable beds.
We had to put the bedsheets on ourselves which wasn't a big deal but something we weren't expecting as the beds are usually made ahead of arrival in most properties we have rented from in the past.
Overall, our stay was relaxing and peaceful.

Nice Christmas vacation
Overall, we all had a nice stay at this home for Christmas week once we cleaned the kitchen on our own. The kitchen was not cleaned, the sink was dirty and the floors had stains but the bathrooms were very clean. We were given a welcome package with one roll of toilet paper and there were six bathrooms in the house. We also ended up buying few bathroom rugs on our own since the bathrooms had none. We loved the community and had a nice time once we shopped for items missing at the house. We really enjoyed the game room.
We would give it five stars if the kitchen was cleaned, stacked necessities to start off our vacation, like TP in every bathroom, more towels, and if the bathroom had bath rugs (especially, in the winter). The lack of these items were inconvenience to start off our vacation after a long drive from Northern Virginia.

The house design is great. It's why we rented it 5 of the last 6 years. This year the hurricane's mandatory evacuation cut the trip short, but we were a little disappointed. The house seemed to deteriorate. The plants in front of the garage were dead, there were dead bugs and cobwebs everywhere. The railings leading to the backyard hard bird poop on them and I had to wash them to use. There were not enough glass wine glasses for our group (they were brought to me quickly), the counters had glass marks on them and were not well cleaned, toilets had rings on them, a towel rack in the lower bedroom was off the wall in the bathroom, there was tons of dust under the beds, the screened in porch furniture was dirty (i had to wash the two tables and brush off dirt from the furniture)... I love this house and it's appointments, but it was not maintained well.

Overall very good and what we expected with the home and amenities. The bedrooms, rec room, kitchen, pool and hot tub were a hit. Unfortunately, the house was not well cleaned when we arrived. Our group consisted of 4 adults and 2 children. It was noted by several of the adults that the floors did not feel clean and we discovered lots of potato chip pieces under the living room cushion, which we vacuumed prior to departing. Also, we didn't utilize the screened porch as a screen was missing and the cushions looked questionable. Otherwise, a really good experience.

Great vacation home with so much to do. We had a couple days of rain, but were never at a loss for something to do in the house itself with the awesome theater room and the magnificent game room. The trolley to the beach was very convenient and stopped right in front of the house. Lots a great restauraunt a near by and some cute shops to tool around at. Shoreline OBX was pleasant and easy to deal with. If we had an issue it was taken care of the very same day. Thanks for a great getaway!!
