The shower was very small or tight, but I'm 193cm just to say. If your a big person or on the larger size it will be tight!

Room was comfy and had a lovely balcony overlooking the park over the road. Location was fantastic, just a few minutes walk from Macrossan street. Staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The gardens were beautiful and well cared for. Pool looked lovely although I didn't go in. Maybe next time.

Bed was uncomfortable. Staying close to town on the wkd is a bit noisy with traffic/ people noise. But that would be the same most parts of Port Douglas

Pool area was very nice. Proximity to the town.
Our “tree view” room overlooked the side of the resort next door. And the road. There was a lot of noise from the early morning traffic and the rubbish truck and the bins being wheeled in and out every second day.

The owners were friendly and welcoming on arrival and provided me with lots of information about the town and details I would need to get around. They couldn’t do enough through the stay whenever I had a question. I was travelling for work so they thoughtfully arranged accommodation on the quieter side of the hotel, away from the pool. The pool was actually beautiful - a little tropical oasis! There is a barbecue area and lots of places to relax in the shade with a book between dips.
Wifi was a little slow but it was fine for what I needed.

We loved Port Douglas Retreat as it was impeccably clean, a fantastic location right in the heart of PD, was extremely tropical with a beautiful pool, was a small resort and had a lovely peaceful feel to it ❤️

The room was ground floor as requested and in close proximity to the pool. The pool was slightly heated which was lovely. The Resort is in a couple of minutes walk to the beach and also to the main street. Great location.
The King size bed was two singles pushed together and the mattresses were well used and due for replacement. You could not roll from one side to the other. A cuddle was not a happening thing!

Great quiet location, one block from the main street. Beautiful large pool, gardens and surrounds.
Unfortunately the king bed is made up of 2 beds zipped together. One side sunk off to the middle into the hard ridge where they joined, there was no way you could sleep towards the middle if you tried. So uncomfortable despite the managers trying to help by adding a topper on the 2nd night. The pillows are really hard & the shower is a very small corner shower. We would definitely stay again at this property if they got new beds & pillows.
