The people at the reception, especially a younger looking man on our arrival was extremely pleasant, accommodative and helpful. We were also given a fan based on our request.

Parking slots were within puddles of water and Holiday inn handing over parking to private operators is awful since inspite of paying and registering our care, we had a fine in Stansted airport a few weeks back.

ROOM IS NOT SOUND-PROOF AT ALL. I was woken up since early morning by all the noises from hall way. Below average breakfast from what is expected from the charges taken. Massively disappointed.

The staff were great! Friendly, professional and not too busy to talk with you rather than one word answers and off they go. The room was very nice. Spacious and warm. The wet room was good, again, plenty of space. It was nice to have a hair dryer and iron available. The bed was comfortable and clean nd with two pillows each which was a requirement for us both. The location is excellent, beling right on junction 43 of the M4 and next to a Harvester is great. The bar offers a very limited selection of drinks but ideal if you don't want to walk across the car park. No food available as far as I am aware. Overall, a nice stay.

The breakfast in my opinion could be greatly improved. The hot breakfast comprises of sausages, bacon, scambled eggs and baked beans. All unlimited. The sausages were "mystery bags" and tasted of nothing which was a great shame. Having a "proper" sausage from the local butchers is so much nicer, again, in my opinion. The bacon however was very nice, the scambles eggs were ok and the beans were just beans! Adding more selection would be better such as tomatoes, hashbrowns, bubble and squeak, fried bread. I appreciate the cost would go up slightly but to have a decent breakfast that sets you up for the day is an excellent way of encouraging people to stay. Encoporating the cost into the room price isn't that noticeable and the through put would increase! The coffee machine pumped out fairly nice coffee and the offer of a pot of tea was available too. The orange juice was watered down to an inch of its life so basically coloured water and the Apple juice was very nice. Toast was available DIY style which was great and there was butter, marmalade and jam in pots. There was also selected berries and yoghurt. Overall the breakfast was satisfactory. In a regularly cleaned area and smiling happy staff. Definitely be staying again!

Breakfast great... I love fresh fruit and yoghurt. Location handy for visiting relative in hospital plus go for an evening meal next door and in nearby town centre or visit friends using the M4

The bathroom needs another hook right next to the shower door to hang the dry towel... ready to grab from the shower. The duvet was too hot... 10.5 tog when it was 20°c overnight! There is no air-conditioning either.

The bedroom was really nice , comfortable and clean and liked the lighting, plugs etc.

The breakfast was generally nice like the cereals, toast, fruit, jams etc. However the croissants were quite dry and my husband thought the cooked breakfast could be a lot better. There was only scrambled egg, no other choice, and there were no mushrooms or tomatoes only baked beans. The sausages and bacon were very well cooked. The orange juice was extremely watery and not a lot of flavour. Just a few small changes and it would be excellent.

The staff, in particular the night manager was so friendly, helpful, polite and professional. Check in was a breeze and rooms were a good size

I wish it was dusted better. There was a fan in the room and soon as I touched it the dust just flew off leaving me coughing. I have a dust allergy so it's not cool unfortunately. Stain on the bedsheet so need better inspection when cleaned. A wheel missing on the chair for the desk which caused me to fall over

The smell of the carpet is horrendous. The overall deco and facilities are too outdated.

Check in was smooth... The hotel in general was clean. Breakfast wasn't too bad

My room was dusty, there were hairs in the shower and on the soap / shampoo bottles..! The wash basin plug didn't work well and was blocked so very slow drainage... The dust was awful, you could see it all with the bedside light on...!
