Extremely noisy location. There is a party center behind the hotel that had events 3 out of the six nights we were there. Beyond that, there was a lot of open vehicles driving by the front of the facility late at night playing music very loudly. Even making allowances for the fact that Mexicans are pretty intense on their music, the party event place played music at volume levels that is indescribably loud, particularly on the last night. Mazatlan needs to put in place some proper noise regulations, and then resource enforcement. For this reason, despite the wonderful location and facility, we will likely find something less exposed to noise.

This property is gorgeous, we were in the Lucy room! It had a comfortable queen sized bed and luxe bathroom. The tub had keys and my husband who is 6’3 was able to fit with room! The staff is excellent. Helped with our bags, arranged taxi for an airport. always asked us how we were doing and if we needed anything. It’s right near the Malecon and walking distance to great restaurants. Their restaurant is really good too. we did dinner and breakfast here. FIVE STARS. We didn’t want to leave.

Felt amenities were lackluster.

The hotel is located at the southern end of the pier (malecon).

Someone wearing one of their employee shirts tried sneaking into our room at 3:30 AM. When I confronted him, he claimed to be "checking the locks." When I brought it up with the front desk, they tried claiming that no one was at my door at 3:30 AM. Then they refused to let me see the camera footage. Luckily, I wore a body cam (hidden camera on a pen) when I confronted the perpetrator. That footage will go to the feds. I checked out of the hotel early, because by sheer coincidence, I was called back to Los Angeles early. When I asked the front desk staff about what can be done about a refund or a credit, they gave me the runaround. Once I cornered them with their lies, they refused to refund me for the three nights that I wasn't there. Some may say that they get a pass on that one.But when you consider that one of their guys tried robbing my room, they get no leeway. Now that the right people are going to get involved, I certainly hope this hotel doesn't wrong any more fellow Americans.
