Det var en fantastisk beliggenhet, med stranden, solsenger, basseng og nydelige solnedganger. Hyggelige folk. Når dagsturister dro kl.15 var vi nesten alene. Magiske kvelder.
Servering kan ta tid. Bestill mat i forveien eller beregn ekstra tid.

Our stay at Baru Playa Resort is like living on Fantasy Island - beautiful, remote, tranquil, & peaceful. The staff is exceptional, professional and friendly. Captain Edgar is a great boat captain and very friendly. Jorge, the owner, is passionate about quality service and maintaining the rustic island vibe of his beachfront resort. I am so impressed with Jorge and the resort, that I would consider investing in it!
It would be helpful to provide guests with receipts for each meal and beverages; and the final invoice in English.
Provide more consistent hot water.

It is an hotel quite remote and we didn’t realise that. You can only arrive by taxi plus boat. Room was clean and people friendly but all very very basic! View of the sea is amazing and it is a very peaceful place if you want to detox. Food excellent but menu very limited and service sometime very slow if busy (and for busy I’m taking about 4 tables to serve)
So eco friendly so No hot shower and that was a huge problem for us! You eat and you stay surrender by dogs that following you everywhere even in the room! Dog poo everywhere and we step on it more then once taking poo in the room! That was a problem and disappointed us a lot considering the price we paid!

All things were allright

The beach was gorgeous. I loved that the hotel didn't have that many rooms, so it felt like we were in a private beach, just for ourselves. The rooms were not super modern but comfortable enough.
There was no hot water! It's pretty hot during the day so we could get by, but I was not expecting that.

very few people, large open space
inevitable mosquitos

The most beautiful white sand sunset beach front hotel resort. So peaceful and relaxing. Not at all crowded. The food was excellent and drinks were mostly great.
First room we got had a noisy fridge at night. And they forgot to leave any toilet paper in the bathroom but the upgrade we got next day was amazing, modern & very spacious. Leaving the island the transport by boat & car costed more than the what is quoted for collection/arrivals. So that was confusing and we got charged for breakfast 2nd day and it was expensive for what it was

It is just such a beautiful place, natural and tranquil. The staff are fantastic, very nice and attentive, they made our stay very special. We would like to thank David, Chris, Raul and Luz and all the other staff - they were like friends.
The beach and water is outstanding, the best we have ever tried.
We will come back soon again. It was very hard to leave this magical place

The room was big and spacious with plenty of room for storage. The room was also cleaned each day immaculately. The staff were super friendly and attentive and there was a great selection of food in the restaurant.
The location is beautiful, with a lovely beach, swings, hammocks and kayaks too keep busy. I also loved the local dog Shakira who visited me and my family each day…

The food was not too good- the only thing that brought my rating down

Room, service and the place in general great.
Breakfast can improve

This place was really special, a small and secluded spot that you can only reach by boat with only a handful of people able to stay at any time. Rooms were recently renovated and really amazing - so much space, comfortable, good aircon, large bathroom. Private beach which was as lovely as you would imagine, lots of beach furniture to chill on. Great food all freshly made and extremely attentive staff.
One of the only downsides was that you need to get a transfer from Cartagena which will add another £100 ish to the price, though the transfer with the hotel is recommended as it would be difficult and not much cheaper to make your own way there.

the peace and environment
the hotel it all and needs a lot of updates

I personally love animals. but having the neighbors dogs at your feet for every meal, was a little uncomfortable. I felt obligated to feed the them. However, I do know that for a fact, it could hurt the resort as far as returning customers, as some people would be upset with the dogs at their feet.

The staff attention, they were always concerned about our comfort, whether if we wanted something to eat or how was our meals, they even took the food to your room. They served our breakfast the last day before the average breakfast time because our flight left very early. Also, they were very helpful contacting us with someone from the hotel for transportation to the airport for a fair price.
I loved everything, but if the hotel can include a hair dryer in the room, it would be perfect.

It was a semi private island. Great internet. Amazing food. Such a great value.
The rooms aren't the fanciest but for what we paid it doesn't matter. You don't spend that much time in the rooms anyways.

* The location of this beach and resort is exceptional! There is hardly any traffic to speak of, just the other guests and service staff.
* The water was clear, calm and bathwater temperature.
* There are day guests sometimes and if the cabana beds or chairs are filled up, you can just ask staff and they can bring out more. The service was excellent, anything we required was attended to promptly. The staff does primarily speak Spanish, so I could see transactions being more difficult if you don't speak the language.
* The food was fresh and delicious.
* Our room was cleaned daily.
* We had our transportation set up by the resort and given how remote the resort is I wouldn't have done it any other way. A driver picked us up where we were staying in Cartagena at the appointed time, and coordinated for us to be picked up by a resort boat off the coast of Baru. (This was true for the return trip as well). It was a seamless experience!
We don't have anything in particular that we didn't like!
I should also say that we are used to backpacking and staying at hostels, so this was a significant step up from that. Our room was in the older building (there is a newer one with more modern rooms) so if you stay there, it is wooden and has the requisite creaking/thin walls etc. The air conditioning worked well and we sleep like the dead, so that wasn't a problem for us (but might be to others if they are sensitive to sound).

The room was very clean, spacious and modern, with a huge king size bed and all facilities incl. aircon and TV, and of high quality. The restaurant on site serves delicious and varied food. the beach has white sand, natural shade from trees and comfortable sun beds.
The transport to the property is very comfortable, but a little expensive at 220,000 COP one way.

The staff is AMAZING! Joseph, Jose, Luz, Reyes and Pantera took care of my little kid like their own, making sure he had everything he needed! We were staying for 2 nights and stayed for 5. The location is amazing with a crystal water white sand beach Max 15 people! And the food amazing, one of the best cuisines in Barú.
Absolutely nothing!

This place is idyllic. The pictures don’t do it justice. Stunning beach with turquoise water. We were upgraded to the king suite, a beautiful spacious room with high ceilings and a well equipped bathroom. The staff and the food were both amazing. We enjoyed delicious pina coladas watching the sunset from the hammocks in the water. Paradise!
Nothing negative to report.

Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Private beach, very nice. The food was wholesome and delicious. Tours to the Rosario Islands available. Beautiful location. I booked a massage, and it was one of the best massages I have had. Transport from the airport available.
Everything else was great, but the room we were given was very noisy, you could hear everything upstairs the whole night. There are other rooms, more modern that are supposed to be quieter.
4.5
The hotel is very quiet, on a lovely beach.
Friendly staff.
Lovely clean comfy room.
It's very difficult to get to; best to use the hotel transport for COP200,000.
Not a lot of English spoken
Not many activities
Food doesn't have a lot of variety but well done.
4.5
All of the meals were excellent and the waiters were fantastic. Our room was lovely and very clean and comfortable. All of the staff at the hotel including the drivers and the ladies who gave the massages, were professional and friendly.
When we first arrived our room was located near the reception area on the ground floor. The only other couple staying at the resort at the time we’re put in the room right above us. It was very noisy because of the floor upstairs. We asked to move and after we did everything was perfect!

beach beautiful, staff very good
