El agua turbia de la playa. Estaba muy sucia, una pena.

This is a tiny hotel with 12 rooms on a secluded spot on the south of Barú. When we stayed in late May, there were only two other guests. The upside is that it is truly secluded and peaceful, filled with the sound of the water and birdsong. The service is thus highly personalized; the truly outstanding restaurant manager Ebrim singlehandedly made our experience feel like we were at a luxury resort. Eating dinner on the pier under the stars was very romantic, and eating breakfast every day by the water is lovely. But - no doubt because of its isolation — none of the food is fresh off of a fishing boat and the preparation is not remarkable (it is comparable to many larger resort hotels). Because it is on an estuary, the water is not crystalline as it would be on the north side of Barú—but it is very pleasant to swim in. Through a small company called Ecotours Barú we took a snorkeling trip to the Rosario Islands, saw plankton after dark, and took a trip to the nearby Aviary, all of which were wonderful.

The downside is that getting to and from the hotel is a bit of an ordeal. It is not close to anything: bring everything you need with you, including cash, which you will need for tips if you take day trips. The place is truly miniature, with no possibility of a walk on the beach. If the hotel is full, note that the walls between rooms are thin. The beach chairs and towels all need upgrading.

El lugar es muyyyyy bonito. La piscina muy chévere con vista al mar. El hotel facilita kayaks, chalecos salvavidas y zapatos de playa para el uso durante la estancia. Definitivamente es un lugar excelente para relajarse y desconectarse.

Muchas cosas en la carta de comidas no estaban disponibles y hubo algunas demoras para traer la comida después de ordenarla.

De locatie, heel idyllisch en rustig. Het restaurant viel mee, niet top, wel heel lekkere cocktails.

De hygiëne: muffe geur van het vocht, verouderd meubilair, slecht onderhouden (zelfs spiegel ontbrak boven lavabo badkamer), vuile lakens en bed (zelfs na klacht). Nog nooit zo'n pover ontbijt gekregen. Alle dagen hetzelfde en voor een extra toastje moest worden bijbetaald, en dit terwijl we toch 270EUR/nacht betaalden.

We really enjoyed the view and the place. Staff was very nice. Overall it was a great location. We could even Kayak for free when we wanted! It’s the perfect place to disconnect and enjoy the sun and the calm. The beach was private too. We would go back without any hesitation!

Pool was not full (not as in the picture). Service was a bit slow. We had to order our evening meal in advance (around 6pm to get it at 8pm). But in this beautiful place being patient is normal! Moreover we didn’t expect our room to be that small (2 twins bed). Accessibility: by car it is a very rough road until the hotel and by Boat from Playa Blanca per example costs 300 000 pesos.

- kein gutes Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis - Essen sehr überteuert für die kleinen Portionen die man erhält. Aufgrund der Lage muss man aber im Hotel essen. - Pool war nicht im Betrieb - obwohl lediglich 3 Zimmer gebucht waren, haben wir das schlechteste Zimmer im ganzen Hotel bekommen.

It was quiet. The premises were clean. Staff were friendly. Food was ok.

I didn't like the fact that it didn't look like in the pictures. No clear blue water, no beautiful white beach, the pool was very small. Very small room for the price. No free water available. All water had to be bought. We only stayed because we couldn't find an alternative on the spot.
