We so needed a break. My husband has been very ill and he finally had a few days where he felt like getting out. This place was perfect as he can’t walk very far and with the incredible view he didn’t need to. The communication with the host was quick. The only issue was that we both would’ve preferred the tv to be in the living area and to be easier to figure out the remotes. The same goes for the heaters in all the rooms. The host did explain in detail but the instructions just didn’t help. The hot tub was so welcome and the view. Go for the view. The rest didn’t really matter very much. We would return without hesitation.

If you are looking to get away and enjoy everlasting beach views, this is the place. This cottage is private, clean, and has easy access to the beach. A short drive to Fort Bragg or Mendocino. I would highly recommend.

A perfect get away for ocean lovers. Quiet, peaceful and views forever. Loved our unplugged anniversary retreat.

The location has nice views and despite being by the campground is overall quiet. There is a great scenic area about 10ish minutes from the house where we saw seals almost daily and a great assortment of sea life in the tide pools at low tide. The house has all the various amenities needed and the kitchen was great for cooking. We had a couple issues during our stay and Dan was timely in his responses. The property is in a rural area and we, unfortunately, got a visit from some of its local critters. If not for that, would have whole heartedly given the property five stars.

Our time at the Sweet Cottage was wonderful. We got to see the Milky Way a couple nights and a spectacular sunset one of the evenings. Beaches are close by and lovely to explore. We didn’t spend much time in the house but I would’ve like it to be cleaner. That being said we would stay again because of the uniqueness of the property. Thank you!

We’ve stayed here before. It’s the perfect location right in the bluff with access to the beach. Will probably stay here again!

It was exactly what we were looking for! Little house with views, smells and sounds of the ocean. The beach was walking distance, just a little hike. Remote, quiet, peaceful and lovely. Fenced in grounds for our dogs to play and then beautiful extended property to stroll and enjoy the scenery, sounds and smells of the beach.

We really enjoyed the property, the location was fantastic and the cottage was cute and comfortable! We really enjoyed it all!

The cottage was very comfortable, had everything you could need and the views, couldn't ask for better. The kitchen was perfect, as we cooked daily, and ate at the table on the deck most days. The beds were very comfortable. We were fortunate to see wildlife like deer and fawn and adorable baby fox frolicking in the grass. The jacuzzi was fantastic, great place to wind down the evening listening to the ocean waves. The beach is just a short 2 minute drive away down the hill.

Great place very private. Amazing views Amazing hot tub and beach is close just a 1 min drive. U can walk easy to the beach. Lived the fireplace and the great property. Thanks we will return. Jaynes family

A great place to get away from it all and just unwind

My family had the most amazing time! The property and house were excellent! My husband loved the hot tub and the kids and I loved sitting at the picnic table over looking the bluffs. I loved sitting at the kitchen table and enjoying the wonderful views! We have definitely found our forever summer vacation rental! The owner Dan was so nice and responded quickly to all my questions. The property was well maintained and had everything we needed. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. Can’t wait for next year!

Beautiful cozy cottage with incredible views. Would love to return.

My husband and I have been very fortunate in our vacation rental experience in Mendocino County and this was no exception. I was a bit concerned by the proximity of a campground but actually it was a huge plus. We were atop a bluff so no noise or lack of privacy and when we took our twice daily beach walks, people were friendly and very courteous. The whole experience was dog friendly, which was nice for us but even without a dog, this sweet cottage will sooth your spirit. The wood stove and well stocked woodbin helped us keep toasty warm and hot tub experience was beyond glorious. The ocean is larger than life in this location and it could not have been better. The house is small but does have two bedrooms so theoretically we could have had another person there to share the beauty. Host was spot on in communication and responsiveness ahead of our stay. The view is exactly what you see in the photo! Thank you, Dan, for everything. We appreciate knowing of this special place....

This is a comfortable, quaint home with all the necessary amenities! We so appreciated the fire wood for the wood stove that kept the home nice and warm! The view is spectacular - watching the storm roll in and then seeing the beautiful sunset. The walk down to the beach was the highlight of our daily activities. We will be back!

Very clean, well appointed with views that just can't be depicted in a photograph. With the views, walks on a virtually empty beach, wood burning stove and the hot tub on the deck for stargazing, we have found no better place to unwind. A bit out of the way, which is perfect for us. A beautiful, enjoyable drive about 30 minutes north of Fort Bragg. Make sure to stop at Cowlicks in Fort Bragg for some amazing ice cream!

A lovely, well equipped home perched on a bluff above the ocean. Absolutely gorgeous view! Dan was so kind and generous and the home was completely perfect.

Clean, cozy, well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, efficient heating, great hot tub, all on top of amazing ocean views and responsive, generous owner. Highly recommended.

Getting to this incredible property is a prelude to its beauty. Winding roads twist along the coastline as you take in unbelievable views of waves crashing on rocks. Opening the door of the house you can see straight through the huge picture window to the Pacific. At that moment...you're captured. The dining table is thoughtfully placed in front of that window, and I had many a meal and cups of coffee staring at the ocean. The rooms are comfortable, as is the bed, and other furniture. The wood burning stove was well used by us, and greatly appreciated. We had some cold, rainy days and that stove provided not only heat, but incredible atmosphere. The kitchen is clean, functional, and we'll stocked. But it is the property that steals the show. Literally feet from a cliff's edge where you can see, hear, and feel the immense Pacific. I spent hours standing out there. It's true what the locals say, it draws you in. Redwood forests are everywhere, and if you have never experienced them prepare to be awestruck. It was a fantastic stay at an incredible property.

We love Sweet Cove! The fire place was ready to go when we arrived. We dined at nearby Fort Bragg and in-between feedings enjoyed the soothing ocean by day and the sunsets in the hot tub! Thank You!

Our family of four had an amazing four day stay. The pictures do not do justice to the postcard views from the cottage, property and beach. This is a perfect place to unplug and relax! We can’t wait to plan our next visit!

Nice cottage at a great location.

Fantastic getaway cottage with beautiful views! We stayed here for 4 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary and I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect spot. Dan and Hallie have created a magical place stocked with most of the necessities you need to prepare/cook meals (aside from the food of course) and be comfortable. The indoor wood stove created a lovely, romantic atmosphere with the sound of the crashing waves in the distance. We relaxed in the hot tub, again with the amazing sound of the waves. The fire pit allowed us cuddle close and roast marshmallows and enjoy each others company. The beach is in close proximity for morning sunrise and evening sunset walking, taking in the wonderful salty sea air. We were lucky enough to see lots of wild life; a coyote scratching it’s ear just off the deck, a momma bear with two cubs, a cute little fox on its way to cruise through the cemetery and of course the resident blue heron meandering around. The camp grounds are a little close (the road to get down to the camp sites runs next to the cottage) but the little camp store came in handy when we realized we forgot a few things and of course to pick up an ice cream treat or two! We drove the short drive into Fort Bragg a couple of times to hit the grocery store and visited glass beach and Mackerricher park (both beautiful spots). We were sad to have to leave and will definitely be back again! Thank you Dan and Hallie!!💜
