This is the 2nd time we stayed at this property, this time for 6 weeks. Property is conveniently located to major attractions, hiking, charming towns. The main bedroom is located on the first floor, perfect for us; our guests had complete privacy on the 2nd floor.
The owner is responsive to guests’ needs and went as far as to order a step stool so i could reach the upper shelves. Prior to its arrival, i located one in the basement. Nancy even picked up our mail in the post office.

We had a lovely stay and were sorry to Ledbetter. We booked the same property for 6 weeks next year prior to our departure. House worked very well for us--primary bedroom and bath were on the first floor, two secondary bedrooms on the the 2nd floor this giving us and our guests some privacy. House is very well equipped. There were a variety of herbs and spices, coffee, tea, dishwasher tablets, paper towels, laundry detergent, etc. eliminating the necessity of purchasing same. We're looking forward to next summeex

This immaculate home is set in a quiet neighborhood close to all major attractions in the Berkshires. It is beautifully appointed and the kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals. I love that the home is stocked with plenty of linens and extra blankets. Check in and out was easy. My sister and I verry much enjoyed our stay at The Freckled Hen. We would definitely return here again.

Great house. Was perfect for 3 couples coming to the area for Tanglewood! House is so well stocked, so clean and comfortable....beds were great!
Nancy is a gracious host and readily available if needed! Yard is beautiful, with a barbecue and a firepit. We can't wait to return!

My group had a lovely stay at the Freckled Hen! Each of us had our own room and the house was stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One night we got about 5 inches of heavy snow and the owner was very responsive in getting the driveway cleared in the morning so it didn't disrupt our plans for the day. We didn't do much cooking other than breakfast but the kitchen looked well stocked with spices, etc. The living room seats 4 people comfortably so it suited our group of 3 ladies but if you are more than four people and plan to stay in at night and watch a movie you'll need to use the kitchen chairs as well. Ah, I forgot to suggest to the homeowner it would be good to leave instructions on how to get Netflix on the TV - it took us a bit to find it but it's there! Lastly, if you're looking for a good nights sleep the beds were very comfortable and everyone slept quite well. We will certainly come back again if the opportunity present itself!

We stayed here in Oct. 3 adults and the home was perfect size. The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked well. The heat was great, showers were hot. The location was close to everything we wanted to do.

Nancy’s house was the perfect place for a Brandi Carlile Tanglewood concert reunion with long time college friends. The house was perfectly set up for us with everything we needed for a relaxing visit and proximity to Tanglewood (15 minutes away) was ideal. She was helpful with suggestions for local restaurants and day trips. I highly recommend Nancy’s home for a visit to the beautiful Berkshires.

Our family of five had a wonderful stay at Nancy's home. We had everything we needed, three spacious bedrooms with queen beds, two lovely bathrooms, and a spectacular backyard setting. The location was perfect for our day trips to Tanglewood, Chesterwood, and the Berkshire Botanical Gardens. We look forward to coming back again soon! My mother, cousin and sister-in-law spent a delightful long weekend in the Berkshires. There was plenty of room. It’s a quiet neighborhood at the base of October mountain
The cottage has three spacious bedrooms, two floors with two bathrooms.
The kitchen and bathroom extremely well stocked with everything you can imagine!!
The entire place was spotless !!
Nancy was so generous with times of arrival and departure.
The garden is lovely and it was so pleasant to eat some meals outside!

Wonderful house and host
We’ve just returned from a 3-night stay at The Speckled Hen, and we loved it. Nancy, the host, was so thoughtful, letting us know the morning of our check-in day that we could arrive a little early as the cleaning was already done as well as responding very promptly to every email I sent, from the time of booking right through our stay there. The house is even nicer in person than it looks in the photos, with very comfy beds and furniture. The lay-out was perfect for us and our two friends, with a nice first floor bedroom near a beautifully renovated bath, and two other rooms on the second floor flanking another bath. The location is also excellent - VERY easy to get to Lenox/Tanglewood, Stockbridge, and of course downtown Lee. It’s in a quiet, beautiful area, but still close to major roads. We will definitely be back!

A great find for those visiting the Berkshires. A very comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood, close to key entertainment venues and restaurants, with tons of room for the two couples (with a bedroom left over). Checking in and out couldn't have been easier, and the host was extremely thoughtful.

Perfect Berkshires getaway!
This was the perfect house for a long weekend girls trip! Plenty of space to spread out and also a great gathering space for meals and late night chats. The house is truly adorable, with lots of thoughtful amenities for the guests. And it is close to many Berkshires attractions, including adorable downtown Lee. Nancy was a perfect host - very responsive and welcoming. I'd definitely stay here again!

Absolutely wonderful, one of the best VRBO experiences I’ve ever had! I’ve stayed in many Vrbo’s, this was just fantastic! Lovely, comfortable home and beautiful yard. Great weekend in Berkshire’s. 2 couples played golf went zip lining and had great meal at Zinc Restaurant in Lenox. Perfect for our weekend getaway. Great location quiet neighborhood and comfortable home. Well equipped kitchen and beautiful bath. Would stay again.

Great friends weekend
Nancy, our host was very accessible and had lots of great suggestions for activities, restaurants and music. Her home is nicely decorated, clean and very comfortable. Beds were extremely comfortable with nice linens. Plenty of towels and bath amenities. Lovely backyard and gardens (it was super hot this past weekend) so only spent time outside late afternoon and early morning. House is fully air conditioned and has ceiling fans in bedrooms. We had a great stay!

Best Host Ever
Every detail was seen to. The place was beautiful, immaculate, and rather luxurious. Nancy took care of every comfort. Even the bed pillows were wonderful. She was also very helpful with information about points of interest. Nancy, thank you for such an easy, wonderful stay!

Great cozy home perfect for a girls’ weekend. If you’re looking for a place to hunker down and hang, you won’t be disappointed! Her suggestions for things to do were fantastic, the home was clean & cozy. Keep in mind for your planning that you’ll need to drive everywhere (there was no luck with Uber or Lyft when we checked it for a “just in case”)

Wonderful Winter Weekend
Located on a quiet street near downtown Lee, this is a lovely, clean, comfortable base of operations for fun in Western Mass. Our bed was very comfortable. The downstairs bathroom is large with double sinks; water pressure in the shower is great. The upstairs bathroom is small - upstairs bedrooms are spacious and attractive. Suitable for kids or couples. There are plenty of linens, towels, blankets, and hangers, and the sunny kitchen is extremely well-stocked and equipped. The weather was icy when we visited, but the heat came right up. We didn't use the large backyard, but enjoyed gazing at it as we prepared food and washed dishes. Nice space for games (winter or summer) and for long meals under the stars! Nancy is an outstanding host - thoughtful, generous, warm, and well-organized. Cudos for composting and cultivating a pollinator garden! We especially enjoyed the artistically curated collections here and there. Many thanks!!

Charming Lee Home
We stayed in the Freckled Hen for a Ski trip with the family. The home was very clean and well maintained - plenty of amenities and totally comfortable beds and linens. The host, Nancy, was very kind, and took good care of us. She was a wealth of information about the area and good places to eat at and visit. Highly recomended.

It's so warm and inviting and was beautifully decorated for the Thanksgiving season. We were 4 adults and there was plenty of space for all us to be together and have our own space. Being it was end of November we didn't take advantage of the spacious yard. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes, mixing bowls, cups, glasses and silverware. Bedrooms are roomy and beds are very comfortable. More than enough towels and Nancy even had extra toiletries in case I forgot something.Neighborhood is very quiet which was nice. And only 7 minute drive to center of Lee.Nancy sent a very detailed explanation of everything we needed to know about the house a couple of days before our visit. This was so helpful. And she was very quick to respond to the one question I did have.We will definitely stay here again!

Great Thanksgiving visit!!

Family holiday weekend
The owner was lovely and flexible. The house is accurately reflected in the pictures. It is also very well stocked with all the little things you didn’t bring including toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, all kinds of cleaning supplies and detergents, shampoos, conditioners, hand sanitizers, bug spray, and bandaids. The kitchen has basic oils, vinegars, and a plethora of spices. The house was at a midpoint for my family and we’d definitely stay there again.

Pros and Cons of The Freckled Hen
The house is an early Cape Cod residence with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. I appreciated the owner's willingness to accommodate my special needs installing an outside railing and three air conditioning units. It was not disclosed that there is a major issue with the plumbing. A sump pump backed up causing a constant disturbing noise in the kitchen sink as well as a flood in the basement where the washer and dryer are located. More lighting is needed in the living room and bedrooms. The furniture in the living room is shabby. The backyard is beautiful.

The Freckled Hen was a wonderful place for 5 friends to gather from different parts of the country. Nancy, the host, was super-responsive and provided tons of information. It was convenient to everything, yet had a lovely, peaceful outdoor space.
