Located in a quiet area of Stellenbosch but walking distance to Lanzerac for dinner. Check-in easy and the friendly person let us have our rooms early. Bedrooms huge and well decorated. Bathroom the cleanest on our trip. Breakfast to die for. Fruit, yoghurt and homemade granola followed by a cooked breakfast or avo on toast. Loved the cosy dining room and the gracious owner who went out of her way to ensure our stay was memorable. Definitely highly recommend and would stay there again.

very nice property in a quiet, tranquil neighbourhoods, with easy access to downtown! also good facilities and the best breakfast we‘ve had throughout our tour in western cape! and mind you, we‘ve had other excellent food experiences too!

not all rooms have direct access to the pool area so it’s worthwhile requesting specifically for such

Great place to stay, I definitely recommend it : - parking spots inside the gate of the guesthouse - great room and bathroom with welcome drink - amazing breakfast with only fresh products - quiet and beautiful neighbourhood where you can have a nice run and a swim after in the guest house swimming pool :)

Impossible to find a uber by night close to the hotel

This is not criticism but minor aspects which can be improved. Back room where we slept one night - close to generator and light from parking lot coming into room - curtain layout can be improved for better blockout. Room towards the front where we slept the next weekend upon return - while quiet and good blockout of exterior light, it has a dated bathroom.

This was our first impression of South Africa having driven straight from the airport and it could not have impressed us more. We were welcomed so warmly, looked after so well and loved staying here. The ambience was perfect and the staff went the extra mile to make us feel at home. The breakfast was delicious with home made food and a great choice. The beautiful garden was really peaceful too. Thank you.

Wonderful stay, everything was better than expected. Felt very welcome straight away. Parking on site was handy and easy. The room was large and very comfortable. Great location for exploring local vineyards and the town. Would absolutely stay again and recommend.

Stunning estate which is well looked after. We were lucky and got a room with a renovated bathroom. The garden is beautiful and has a pool. The owner + stuff are very friendly - we got nice wine recommendations, even our car got washed. The breakfast was the best I have ever eaten anywhere - delicious scones, fruits + yoghurt or smoothies; eggs, …. We would always come back.

The most amazing stay. The owners are super nice and welcoming, the staff is very helpful. They offer the most amazing breakfast and the neighbourhood is very nice to walk around. The pool is perfect for a refreshing swim.

It's truly the most generous, well-appointed place I've ever stayed at. The location is amazing. The grounds, gardens and pool are gorgeous. The rooms are huge, massively comfortable and have everything. The breakfast will fill you until dinner. The staff, especially Proud, are the best people you'll meet. Really, there is no reason to stay anywhere else.

It's a little noisy inside

Warm, welcome, and Cape elegant. My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Van der Stel Manor. Ilzibet and her whole team were welcoming, professional, and so kind. Great location, beautiful historical building, and what a lovely breakfast (the scones made by Ilzibet are to die for!!) I have recommended this beautiful location to all friends and family, and will continue to do so. Thank you again for a great stay!

Beautiful Cape Dutch homestead with welcoming reception area, cosy breakfast room and a modern addition with beautifully appointed guest rooms.

This is a lovely house in which to stay. We received a very warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble throughout our week’s stay, superb bedrooms, excellent breakfasts and great fun. The garden was beautiful with a swimming pool. Except for one other property in Robertson which is equally impressive, this is the best B&B we have stayed at in our fifteen years of holidays spent in South Africa. We highly recommend this to anyone wishing for a high quality place to stay in the Winelands. Ilzebet and Proud made sure we all had a wonderful time and anticipated our every need. to everyone who helped to make it so special. Nothing to dislike

The breakfast was outstanding!! Please be really hungry so you can enjoy it at your leisure. They make the most delicious scones and that’s before the egg options.
