This upper floor of a lovely home in a quiet neighborhood was perfect for our 3-night stay. It was very cozy with with plenty of room for 3 adults, comfy beds, full kitchen, and more. We especially loved the 2nd floor deck, from which you could smell and faintly hear the ocean, plus the beautifully landscaped gardens below. Location was ideal for access to 3+ local beaches, mansion tours, cliff walk, and great restaurants in Newport as well as within walking distance from home. We also enjoyed visiting with the hosts and their adorable dog. I only wish our stay could have been longer!

We had a wonderful stay at Barb and Ed’s place. The rental was clean and spacious. The location was fantastic. It was a very quick and easy drive into Newport. There was more than enough room for our family of 5. The space was well stocked with everything we needed. Thank you, Barb and Ed (and George too!) for sharing your wonderful space with our family.

We had a perfect stay while attending my daughter’s graduation. The location was perfect for us and the hospitality was wonderful. Clean rooms, plenty of towels etc.

We had a beautiful birthday/Easter weekend at SE. Barbara and Ed were super welcoming hosts, the rental was immaculate and cozy. We loved our time there and will definitely return! We also loved the proximity to Salve Regina (where our daughter will be for the next 3 years) and all the classic Newport attractions. Plus we could bring our dog, who our daughter misses a lot! We also appreciated the comprehensive binder of local attractions that Barbara and Ed had for the guests. Can't wait to return! Thank you!

My sister, myself and a family friend came in for a cousin's wedding in Newport and had a wonderful couple of days here. Barbara and Ed were very kind and communicative, and the apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Their recommendations for the area were also spot on, and I would absolutely book again for a longer trip!

Brilliant hosts: caring and unobtrusive. The flat above their house is a mile from everything — three beaches, the town centre, restaurants (closer, really) — yet a calm oasis, too. Well stocked and supplied, clean and very comfortable. Truly excellent.

We loved our stay. The apartment was clean, spacious and cozy. The deck off the bedroom was lovely for relaxing and listening to the birds. Our daughters enjoyed the relaxing living room and bedrooms were comfortable. We enjoyed the well organized kitchen and loved being able to have simple meals in such a homey space. Wonderful hosts who greeted us warmly and made us feel at home.

Perfect getaway would stay again!
I can't say enough good things about our stay. The location, accommodations, and environment is ideal. You are a 5 min drive to the beach, about 10 min drive to downtown Newport, and less than 10 minutes to other landmarks like the mansions and Cliff Walk. The apartment is beautiful, with a rooftop balcony and sun room. Plus Barbara and Ed are very kind and responsive. We will definitely try to stay here again next time we're in the area!

A peaceful escape
We spent five days at the property and had a wonderful time. Barb and Ed are thoughtful, generous hosts and we loved every minute of our stay. It’s a nice walk to First/Easton’s beach. The little deck off the main bedroom is the perfect spot for reading or just enjoying the outdoors. We can’t wait to go back.

A great rental, fully furnished apartment with two bedrooms, complete kitchen, living room, porch with place to sleep, and outside terrace. Quiet, residential neighbourhood. Excellent host. Great value for money. Downtown Newport just seven minutes away by car, very easy drive. About ten minutes brisk walk to Second Beach. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in Newport.

Would stay again anytime! Sometimes pictures don’t tell the whole story, but this times pictures didn’t do it justice! The apartment was more spacious than expected, neat as a pin, and created a relaxing stay! I have issues with my back so the mattresses are important to me! Excellent, slept like a baby!! The host couple met us upon arrival. Barbara is friendly and had a list of pertinent information about Newport. It was a fantastic start to a busy week! Thank you for sharing your home!

Perfect weekend away!
We had the best weekend at Barbara and Ed’s! It was our first time traveling as a family of 4, and we had everything we needed. Great location to beaches and restaurants, very comfortable bed, very clean and relaxing. Ed and Barbara were great hosts. We will definitely be back next year!

Very clean and cozy!
Everything was great from the beginning to the end! Our very well planned trip of just three nights, hit a bump when the hotel we had reserved burnt down 12 hours before our arrival time. I jumped on VRBO to see what I could find. This place had an opening of our exact time (because of planned maintenance) Barb said come on in we will work around your schedule because of what happened to your hotel. Very nice & welcoming owners!! The apartment is very clean, and well equipped!

This could not have been a better location for our short stay in Newport. If you like to walk, it’s centrally located between 1st and 2nd beach plus close to a number of restaurants. The accommodations are perfectly appointed and the hostess could not have been more gracious! Looking forward to returning!

Close to everything but far away enough from the bustle of downtown to enjoy some quiet. Fully stocked kitchen, indoor/outdoor porches, and large living room area. Great choice if you’re a pet-lover! Bring a mattress topper if adult needs to use pullout in den area. Probably fine for kids, but too firm for us. Responsive and friendly homeowners.

Very comfortable home and well appointed with all you could need for your stay. Owners were lovely and greeted us on our arrival. Very easy check in and out process. Would be a fantastic location for summer with the beaches and restaurants so close.

Awesome beach cottage
Ed and Barb are the best!! We had everything we needed. Such an amazing “home” base. Perfect retreat. Anyone wanting to book a Newport/Middletown rental would be lucky to stay here!!! Beachy, coastal, comfy, close to all, and a happy home. Love the evening rooster surprise light.

NYE in Newport (Middletown)
We loved our stay! Great property and owners, great location, dog friendly, kids had a blast. It was great that sheets and linens and shower towels were provided. Very clean. Fenced yard for dog. It was perfect for our little last minute NYE getaway from NJ. Ed and Barb were wonderful and we will definitely be back!

Everything we needed for a great stay!
Stayed for 4 days during a move between houses. Though we were familiar with the area, we hadn’t lived that close to Newport or the beach,. This spot was perfect for getting to both and we enjoyed the location advantage. Wonderful hosts who made sure we had all we needed. The apartment was well stocked with towels, bedding, and was simple to cook a meal or two in as well. Comfortable all around for our family plus our small dog was welcomed too! Definitely recommend for locals and visitors alike!

Perfect romantic getaway
This home was more than we expected! Comfortable, clean, beautifully decorated, and plenty of room for more guests. Barbara and Ed greeted us upon our arrival and were generous and hospitable hosts. We had everything we needed and more (including beach towels, beach chairs, washer and dryer etc.) for our stay. Home is in the lovely town of Middletown and minutes away from several beaches. On our last night we enjoyed listening to live reggae band on the beach followed by fireworks. We hope to return to this lovely home again in the near future. Liz and Richie

Wonderful Newport Getaway!
I can't emphasize how wonderful my experience was with this rental property. To begin, the hosts are wonderful and are always accessible for any of your needs. From providing spots to visit in Newport to making sure your stay is comfortable and everything is provided, they are a traveler's dream. Secondly, the location is perfect. This rental will allow you to get away from the hustle and bustle of Newport, but walk/drive a mile, and you will find yourself in the city, or on the beach. Thank you so much for the wonderful place to stay to experience everything Newport has to offer, we will definitely be coming back!

Nice, clean, comfortable unit in a lovely quiet neighborhood. Many nice touches made us feel at home. Owners very responsive and accommodating. Perfect spot for exploring Newport: just a short ride to Cliff walk, Bellevue avenue and the mansions. Nearest beach is within a 5 min drive.
