we thought the dinner menu was lacking, should have more typical options and more flavor over all.

It was a beautiful period property. Massive rooms with usual amenities and a nice balcony.

Small and cold swimming pool (not heated). Very expensive dinner menu for relatively standard meals with not that high quality. You better go somewhere else. Lady at the reception was informing us wrongly about travel times to Sarchi. Tax was charged on top of the amount specified by Booking. This was not mentioned in the booking process, neither the confirmation. After complaining we got the tax amount refunded (although still waiting for the refund).

the lack of accommodation upon arrival. our receptionist was in a hurry to get off work and was not accommodating.

The hotel is unique, the design absolutely beautiful. I would definitely stay here again. Close enough to the airport but set in a spot of nature within the city. Perfect for your first and last nights in Costa Rica or anywhere in between.
